  1. Actually that would be a funnel cloud..... A large....dark.....funnel cloud.
  2. Oh my gosh! Finally! Thank you! I realize Alcoa is a great team but don't they have a thread that people can get on if they feel the need to worship them? Frankly, it's like a little dark cloud raining on the Polk/Loudon parade. Lets not worry about them until it's time .I agree with "mom" that if you've made it this far, especially undefeated, the there's nothing to be ashamed of even if your team loses. So...I know this has nothing to do with our game but what's the deal with the SRO? I've seen it mentioned several times but no details. Was it the Loudon SRO or the Bledsoe SRO?
  3. So is there no chance that CAK will beat alcoa? I thought Alcoa only beat CAK by 2 TDs when they played?
  4. Hey Charlie Murphy you are one of the most correct, consistent, call-it-like-you-see-it individuals on these threads. So what are you thinking?
  5. I was trying to remember...wasn't Polk's last preseason game against Loudon jamboree week? Anyone know?
  6. I absolutley agree that Polk should take this one easy but nothing should ever be taken for granted. Remember Tellico in 2000 or maybe it was 2001 and also Copper Basin. I think the year was 2002. It was the year that Polk played them at home on a Saturday and it was one of those games when Polk was supposed to run away with it. I'm hoping they go on the field with the mentality that they are about to play a team as tough as Bradley. These guys lost two classmates last night in an automobile accident. One of the kids that was killed played football with most of these guys all the way through elementary and middle school, so I think it might be tough for some of them, especially the sophomores and juniors to go out and play as before in the previouis games. I know for at least one of the varsity juniors it will be tough. Thoughts and prayers to the families of these two kids. Good luck Cats!
  7. Last report I heard was that CCS qb was fine. He was taken to the ER because he may have been unconscious briefly and maybe a stinger on the left side of his neck. Around 1030 pm last night he was alert and awake and moving arms and legs without problem. It looked a lot more serious though when he was taken off the field.
  8. Congrats wildcats! This was an awesome display of sportsmanship, discipline and class, not to mention the talent that this year's team possesses. Ignore 5charger and consider the source. There's always one in the crowd. The D was great and never stopped and what can you say about the offense? It seems to me 22 gets overlooked at times but he was there all night. Also anothergroup that is overlooked a lot is Polk's O line. If it wasn't for these guys it would have been a completley different game for everybody. Williams, Norwood, Soos and Jones were outstanding. Enjoy and celebrate your amazing victory then let it go. You have almost a whole season ahead. Congrats again and keep it going!
  9. "Why?" MC's defense has had a year to grow just like Polk has. Other teams don't set idle while Polk gets better. Can't see Polks offense improving so much that it can now put up big numbers on an improved defense that held them to 0 a year ago. Staying with my prediction: if OL steps up, it could get ugly with the talent MC has at QB, WR's, & RB's. If not, two good teams battling it out with MC coming out on top. Your right about other teams not settin idle while Polk gets better, Central seemed to get worse . Now let me ask you about Polk not putting up more than 14 on MC's D. That was one of the wost displays of sportsmanship i have ever seen from a team. #56 for Central is a good player but played dirty all night long, hitting after the play was over several times and getting caught once witch led to a Polk TD. Guess he couldnt handel being shut down. Good job Polk showed lots of class, and played hard. Keep it up and keep your head set ahead. GO WILDCATS!!
  10. Strength of opponents has played a big part in centrals scoring this year compared to last, but it seems the OL play is down from last year also. Central has just as good (if not improved) offensive threats as they did last year. Prediction: If OL can protect QB and open a few holes better than last two games, i see central winning by 2 TD's or more, but not sure OL can hold PC consistently. Either way, I'm picking MC (2 TD's if OL play improves or if not, finding a way to put up 14-17 and squeaking one out in a close one). Don't see PC scoring more than 14 on MC's defense. Dont see Polk putting up more than 14?? Why? This is one of the best offences Polk has had in a long time. Even with a new offense it looks better than last year, better play calling, a small but fast o line, good backs with depth at each spot, stand out WR, a good qb, and that good ol Polk PRIDE= hard to handel!! However Polks D has got to bring it this week. Cant wait till the second half to start wrapping up! I keep reading all this about the MC's passing game and i agree that if #15 has time he can pick apart a secondary. On the other hand i hear how weak or "down" MC's o line is, how good can #15 throw on his back!!?? For that reason (i think Polks D gets pressure on the qb) i say Polk comes out on top by a TD. If Central gets down and loses hope (like Polk last year), Polk runs away with it by 2+ TD's. GO WILDCATS!!!
  11. Friday night is almost here. After watching the Polk Tellico game tonight i thought the wildcats looks solid all the way around! Had a shakey start on offence but got things going the second time out. Defence was impressive as always only giving up i think one first down even with some 2's in. As for this coming friday, i think Polk will be hard to handel. If Bradley only has size going for them it may be a long night for the bears. Polk has a good defence and has been lacking in offence the past few years, and now since thats coming around they will be a great football team. Go Polk!!
  12. Polk looked good at the ER scrim. ER was big up front but Polk seemed to handel them well. So if all Bradley has going for them is size, they could be in for a long night.
  13. Where are all the Bradley fans?
  14. Cant wait for this game! Anyone have any thoughts on how it will play out?
  15. i think it starts at 6.. i think.. not real sure on that.... It does start at 6. Should be a good one GO POLK!
  16. Congrats to the baby blue on a well played game! Good luck to Central and Polk! Represent southeast Tennessee well! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. You know i like you jcub50. Its nice to know thir are still some people that know a good team when they see one. As far as Canadian goes.....I think Polk has a very good defense even if you dont want to admit it. Just like i said in another post i do believe the baby blue gets in Polks head. I hope that changes tonight, if so Polk stands a good chance. I look forward to this one. GO POLK!!
  18. NOT SO FAST "canadian"! I think Polk wont be intimidated this time, they will be focused and ready to play. If #30 gets hot and Polk plays defense like they did against Meigs it will be a great game! I think Polk will come out hot. Im gonna go out on a limb and say Polk pulls it out by ........7! GO POLK!!!
  19. WORE THEM OUT ALL YEAR??! Are you kidding me? If i may take you back to the game on Dec. 15 @ Polk where Central only won by 4. Thats a spanking alright. Polk is simply intimidated by the baby blue. Have no clue why, but they are. I would love to see both teams come out tomorrow at the top of their game. That would make for a great show. As for Polk being wore out by Upperman, I dont see where you get that. Maybe you need to watch Polk play against someone other than Central. GO POLK!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  20. Both Polk and Central are good teams, no doubt about that. To say they have a chance to go all the way is pushing it. I have seen both teams play, Polk is great unless they have to play the baby blue. Central is great when their top shooters are hot. Centrals defence is amazing, but all it takes is one team that can beat that great press they have and cause the baby blue to make some mistakes and their run is done. The #1 question will they meet a team that can do that? Good luck to both teams!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  21. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of this young person who was taken way to soon. God has his reasons for everything, although at times its hard to understand and see past our pain. You are in our prayers. Your friends from Polk County
  22. Wildcats may be done for this season, but they are absolutley not gone. Very soon all the lifting and conditioning starts up again. Wildcats we are so proud of you. You showed class, maturity and discipline last night as you have all season long. It's great to hear from other teams what a quality team Polk always puts out. You have no reason to hang your heads. Not only did you have a great season, you finished with class. I have read another thread from last night and after seeing how other players and coaches behave from other teams I am amazed, and I realize we,the fans, may at times take our kids and coaches for granted. It is character and pride that make up Polk Co. football. Thanks to the seniors for all the hard work and dedication. You have had great success at PCHS and will be missed. Keep in mind Polk had a better night than anyone else in the region and you guys did it on the road. That speaks volumes. Once again congrats players and coaches on a great year and another playoff appearance. How many is that consecutively now? Can't wait until next year! GO WILDCATS !!!!!!!!
  23. I'm sure you are an expert on heart and talent. You should go with limpyB on this. What do they say, "Great minds think alike." Or maybe its "misery loves company". Anybody who would get on a message board to criticize a bunch of kids has to amount to a lot. You probably are able to flip the fastest burger around or dig the best ditch in town, not putting down either occupation, I'm sure you are all better people than ol' StaRKiller. What'sthe deal, does Central not have a thread this week? But please, stay on ours, you both are so entertaining. And if Polk's QB does read their garbage, please just consider the source and keep on with what you are doing. You absolutley have a lot of fans who couldn't be more proud of the Wildcats and the way they conduct themselves on the field. Good Luck against Notre Dame. GO CATS!!!!!!!!
  24. You are just full of humor aren't you brosef. Wouldn't expect anything less from a scholar such as yourself who uses the term brosef /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'll make sure and check for any errors before I post to such and educated, sensitive person like you. Your posts speak volumes. Your mom must be so proud. The point I was eluding to was the fact that you don't need to get on here criticizing kids who read this themselves. Of course it's always people who have never done anything that have the attitude you do, and do nothing but sit around bumping your gums about people who do. Thanks for the insightful post. Oh and hey, check the spaces between sit and around on the above line, I think maybe there is an extra space and it takes a person with the obvious intelligence that you have to point that out. What would we do without people like you? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
