This has no real relevence but Little ole 1A Trousdale County played 3A ball from 2001-2004 and on 2002 they beat McMinn Central 56-0 in the first round of the playoffs. They eventually lost in the Semifinals to Knox Fulton 14-13 in the semifinals, coach had enough guts to go for 2 and get the win instead of a tie, but we failed. Trousdales record over that 4 yr span was 41-10 with 2 region championships and 2 trips to the semifinals losing to the eventual champion both yrs. My point is 3A ball is not much better than 1A ball.

TC scored 733 in 1997. I think SP scored 716 in 98. Looks like Ditka is getting old and forgetful. Maybe its a school record for SP.

Eddie Moore set a state record for SP in 98 also. I think it was most rushing TD in a season. 42 I think it was. Wow '98 was a great yr for 1A football in Middle Tennessee. More than 1 went pro.

Wasn't BGA in Div II that yr? And maybe the best high school runningback that I've personally seen. Mister Troy Fleming. I think he mightta won a Mr. Football in 98. As did Scruggs from TC for the 2nd yr in a row.

Just like someone from FCS to hate on TC. That guy is not from Trousdale, it is a THIRD PARTY opinion. And I happen to agree with him. The 97-98 TC teams with Payne and Scruggs were the shiznit. UNSTOPPABLE. Go look at the scores those yrs. And most of all, CONGRATULATIONS to South Pitt on a great yr, and for getting the Gold Ball back to the PUBLIC schools.

Does anyone on here have the list from 2005? Has the kicker from TC won this award 3 yrs in a row? Brent Ford from TC is a Sophmore. Reminds me a lot of the #24 Robinson kid from SP. We could very well be seeing his name up for a Mr. Football award in a couple yrs.

I too think the Mighty Yellow Jackets will be contenders in 2008, they'll be LOADED with jrs. 2009 is just about a lock for them to get the GOLD BALL. They should have around 20 seniors that yr. If they're still in 1A. Congrats to the Pirates for a great season.

SP are not as good as the 2005 Yellowjackets imho, but they are great none the less.

Quit Crying already. They beat you guys worse than thay beat TC, I was at the TC game and listened to GV/SP on radio. SP never punted the ball, they were going for it on 4th down and getting it every time, and TC beat you guys in the regular season. I vote for TC being the best in Region 4 this yr. And another gold ball will be filling our cabinet in 1 of the next 2 yrs. heres something to think about, Trousdale had 8 fumbles vs Watertown in a 7-0 loss. They were inside the 30 on mare than 3 occasions. Trousdale missed a game winning 30 something yd field goal by 1 ft in a 9-7 loss vs Friendship. Trousdale was 11 points from being 9-1 and probably ranked 2nd in the state . Just wanna throw that out there.
