The bar has been lowered, which means that the new coach might not have as much pressure as before last year. Some of the issues with the previous coach are known but lots of posters on here have alluded to others. So it couldn't get much worse than it was with Allen. A new coach can use that nowhere to go but up mentality to his advantage which could make it more attractive now than before.

That is what I heard too about two dates that worked for Oark Ridge but for some reason AC didn't like those dates. I agree that I would much rather play Oak Ridge than Greeneville because of the county rivalry and the gate.

Greeneville is definitely a very long drive.

I asked around about Oak Ridge and was told that there were only a couple of dates that were available and the two schools couldn't get together on those. I would have liked for us to play Oak Ridge. I'm glad this only lasts for two years. I would prefer to be back where we were.

I started one on the 4A board but it's not been getting much interest. I guess that's because our rivals for the past six years are all on this board.

I've heard a rumor that we picked up Greeneville as an opponent ... Can anyone substantiate that?

Maybe it really is an issue of not wanting another 900 pound gorilla in not playing Oak Ridge. But I really don't think CC will be nearly as good as they were this year. You lose Jeffers, Elkins, Torres, the LB/RB whose name escapes me, the other good senior WR, among others. That's hard to replace. Yes, AC loses a lot too and in all likelihood we'll be down a bit.

The "unhealthy" thing was brought up by CCrazy. Now he's acting like AC is ducking CC and criticizing that.

Perhaps it could have been handled better but it looks like these schools (Webb and CAK) are chafing at something Mathews is doing. I have no idea what that is, but surely it's more than drawing away potential players. How does ending the series stop that if that's all it is?

Four would be too few with the disparity in school sizes. Five would be just right. I see that happening after Upward 32 is scrapped.
