  1. I don't see Lincoln County vs Lawrence County
  2. Overton was next and reason they did not scrimmage Riverdale or Ravenwood in camp this year was due to the many injuries suffered by starters the last 2 years. Last year we lost the starting running back. Year before last we lost a QB that would have been at least splitting playing time. Of course he started last year and will this year. It is helful to scrimmage stronger teams but it can bite you as well. As low as we seem to be in depth it really hurts when you get starters hurt and they miss the season.
  3. Most of the friends I sat with left before the city high school was even thought about real hard. I heard we are getting a Dariy Queen as well.
  4. That does about sum it up, but I'm still to much of a hardcore fan to go the way everyone that sat around me have gone, out the gate to never return. Work could interfere with my game goning this year but I sure hope not. I will be there if I can.
  5. I think there will be 3 really tough region games in which the Falcons probably will get beat, Indy, LaVergne and Shelbyville. Franklin County and Columbia could go either way. I don't know much about Summit or Stewarts Creek other than their record from last year but some are picking Stewarts Creek to finish mid pack.
  6. After a rough 2014 season, 4-6, What do you think Lincoln Co. will do this year? There were a couple of games last year in which it seemed to be all Falcons in the first half only to see that change in the second half. Nearly had the come back against Franklin Co. With some being back that missed the season last year I think it possible for the Falcons to get 7 wins, if they stay healthy. What are your thoughts?
  7. Independence La Vergne Shelbyville Lincoln County Columbia Franklin County Stewarts Creek Summit
  8. Sure am thinking about it but my wife is wanting to go see the new Hunger Games movie and deer season opens Saturday. Don't guess I will get there. Back to the reason for the new high school in Fayetteville. It seems the one that asked the question said something about Lincoln County's long history of success. I was told by a person inside the Fayetteville school system that he felt the move for a City high school was due, in part, to the fact that Lincoln County was not competing on a high level and has not for a number of years. It was said that Fayetteville wanted to win state championships. A lot of people around here have said if you give Fayetteville a couple of years, they would be like South Pittsburg. That says a lot for y'all's program.
  9. Not sure if any one has answered your question but I will try. There have always been 2 separate school systems here in Lincoln County or at least for many years. Fayetteville School System's website says it was started in 1910. At some point, not sure when, all of the city's high school students went from the city school system into the county system for 10th, 11th and 12th grades. They, the city school system's board, decided they wanted a high school and here we are. We also have Riverside Christian Academy who plays 8 man football. They have won their state championship the last 2 years. I don't see any way Fayetteville can win over South Pittsburg. You guys have a great tradition of winning year in and year out. I talked to someone a couple of weeks ago that was from South Pitt visiting Fayetteville. When she told me where she was from the first thing I said was "y'all have a great football team every year". This is one Falcon fan who is pulling for Fayetteville but just don't think they can do it.
  10. I have studied the schedules of both teams and it seems Northeast is the better team, at least on paper. With that being said Lincoln County has had a way of beating teams that were supposed to be better than them. The key I think for the Falcons to win is defense. They will have to play the whole game like they have played the second half of many games this year.
  11. First, a question. What are your thoughts on this game? Second, a call to all Falcon fans. I am in old school Falcon fan mode, when it was hard for a team to come and play for the noise in the PIT. Let's bring that back Friday night!!!! Third, a shout out to the Northeast fans. Hope you guys have a safe trip down to Fayetteville.
  12. I am a Lincoln County Falcon fan all the way but I am also one that speaks truth. I will probably take some heat for what I am about to say but I am going to say it. The Falcons did not seem to have the same heart that I have seen in the games before last night. I don't know if it was the fall break that did it or what but I don't believe Shelbyville was 41 points better than the Falcons. Does anyone think that Shelbyville was that much better than Lincoln County or did Lincoln County just have a really bad night?
  13. You are right again FreeAgent11. I can't but wonder what would the QB spot look like if that sophomore QB had not got hurt.
  14. I agree with you tn2164 Lincoln County must play 4 full quarters of ball. I also agree with FreeAgent11 that it is a toss up, it could go either way. While the Falcons seem to start slow they do end with a bang. If it's close at the half I think the falcons win. I wish we could or would pass the ball a little more to open things up for those 2 great runners we have.
  15. Thought it would be a closer game than it was. Over all thought the Falcons put together a good 4 quarters of play.
  16. Found a video of the entire game on a Lebanon newspaper website. That will teach me to give up on the falcons.
  17. How did the Falcons come back to win that game? I thought sure with the fumble by Lincoln County late in the game it was over and I turned off the radio and went to bed. I had to check 3 sources before I would believe we won. If Lincoln County does not turn the ball over they take the win. If they give it up as many times as they did against Lebanon, Columbia takes it. I am so mad at myself for turning the radio off
  18. It is at LC and I am ready for game night. Thank you we'll be as safe as we can.
  19. I thought Coy went back to Coffee County or somewhere. I know he is not with Lincoln County this year. Did he go to Franklin County or something?
  20. After a disappointing start for both teams, who will win their first game Friday night? These two teams always go at each other hard so should be a fun game to watch.
  21. Was not at the game but did listen on the radio and thought at halftime we were going to win. Seemed like the coaches decided to try some things in the second half that maybe the team needed to work on. Not sure if that was the case or not. We need to pull it together next week as we get into region play.
  22. I must say that was the first time I left feeling like we got a win when we got a loss. Not making the road trip but my heart will be there this Friday night. GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!
  23. With game one in the books for the Falcons, I was just wanting to know what you think about the way they played against Giles County. After the first quarter I was ready to go home. I made the statement that I could not believe how far the Falcon program had fallen. By the end of the night, however, I was a proud Falcon fan. To keep their heads up and get back into that game with a chance to win, I think, says a lot about what the next couple of years will hold. Loved the heart shown by those young men.
  24. Umpires can be funny sometimes. I helped coach the Lincoln County Middle School B team one year and we went to play Marshall County Middle and the umpire there would not let the girls swing the bat in the on deck circle. When we asked why, he said it distracted him. So I guess it all depends on the umpire as to what he will and will not allow.
  25. I will definitely be there!! Go Lady Falcons!!!!
