  1. Keep in mind, you folks only heard one negative post from us Chargerette fans. Most all of us will give credit where credit is due and I will give a lot of credit to the L A players and coach for a job well done. They showed great effort and heart along with a good game plan against us. Good Luck the rest of the way.
  2. Other than having a little problem with dozing off and getting in the ditch sometimes, it is like "Driving Miss Daisy"!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. I was looking right at the play and didn't see anything that would have provoked it on that play. It was definitely a foul on the ball and two officials were real close to the whole thing. The outburst surprized a lotof folks around me for sure. BTW Thanks to all the Upperman fans for the great sportsmanship you have shown and the well wishes for our Chargerettes. You are a class act and wish we didn't have to keep butting heads with your region every year.
  4. BlitzingBuc, wow, take you a while to come up with that moniker? LOL Yep, if I go you will be most welcome to ride along. Going to be great seeing you in that Charger Blue!
  5. I agree on this point, no one will be heavily favored at the 'Boro. Both teams will be ready to play. Central did have some quality wins with one being over a Georgia final four team (LFO) who is still playing. Don't think these girls aren't battle tested as well.
  6. Oh well, here we go again!! For reference purposes, PLEASE don't call us McMINN!! we are Central or Central of McMinn. McMinn high is the big school that can't play basketball a lick!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Now please explain the Hogeye thing to us uninformed !
  7. recap in a nutshell: Both teams came out playing an up tempo game, Central shooting in the paint, Upperman matching scores with the three. Game was tied at end of every qtr. at 16 end of 1, 29 end of 2, 43 all end of 3. Central subed in threes entire game and seemed to take the legs out of the Bees in the fourth qtr. it was tied late with Upperman missing shots and Central making foul shots. A very physical game all night with Boiles getting teed up late in game for slamming ball and language. All in allboth teams played hard and felt both coaches did a good job.
  8. Walker Valley is very athletic and play an up tempo offense and a pressure defense. They are very well coached by a long time successful coach. You better come with the "A" game and that might not be enough!! Have a safe trip to Charleston.
  9. A small point of order for the rest of the posts here..... WE ARE NOT McMINN !! PULEEESE refer to us as Central or McMinn Central. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> McMinn is the big school in the county that is not very athletic at all except soccer!! LOL
  10. According to Coach Morgan this morning, it is a 6 o'clock game.
  11. No doubt from here on out the road gets way more difficult starting with Polk Co. One thing I keep hearing is how weak the schedule was this year. Folks, 32 - 0 against anyone is pretty impressive and one of those wins was a pretty convincing win ove Lakeview- Ft Oglethorpe who is in the quarterfinals of the Ga. State Tournament. I really like how the Chargerettes have taken it one game at a time this year. Good Luck the rest of the way!!
  12. I respect your knowledge of basketball and our districts history, but I stand by my reasons. I have been around Central basketball for too many years that I care to remember. You make some good points but if you will reread my post I said "reasons Central has a real chance". We have had these same reasons in the past but not ALL of them at the same time. Julie's teams didn't have depth, the teams that had great guard play didn't have size in the post. They have had scorers before but not 4 or 5 real scoring threats on the same team running or half court. And lastly, this is probably the best defensive team they have ever had, full court or half court. I know basketball and have seen what it takes to win the state. This team has the pieces this year, that is all I am saying.
  13. Here is my opinion on why they may have a "real"shot this year. 1) Senior leadership, they play together very well 2) strength program showing signs of paying off 3) 10 deep with subs that really contribute 4) A real presense at the post position, something they never have had at the State Tournament 5) lot of experience at the guard position 6) last but not least... full court, man to man, in your face, borderline nasty DEFENSE, every night!!
  14. I got a feeling they will be ready. Remember the quote from Coach Davis last week about how his girls can beat the Chargerettes? Well, it is on the locker room door where they see it every day. They will be ready and focused.
  15. I was surprised at this announcement. I have known Charlie and coached against him for a few years and have great respect for him and his teams. This is a mistake by ND IF they have ask for the resignation. Look at all their sports and it is clear they are not getting the athletes they used to get. Good Luck Charlie where ever you end up!
  16. Don't have any kids playing any more but you know who I am !! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  17. Jena Adams played late in the year last year but was still learning how to play. She has finally grasped the system and has worked very hard on her skills and has become a force inside at 6'1" and a pretty big wing span. She is bringing about 15 points and 10 to 12 rebounds off the bench! Thats why I said in an earlier post that Central can go 10 players deep this year with virtually no drop off in production and playing at their up tempo pace, they just pound a team in the ground. A lot of teams thought they could double up on Kylie this year and slow them down but that has not worked. As Maniac said earlier, anything can happen in tournament time but I think this is the most complete team Central has ever had with the post and perimeter players they have this year.
  18. I continue to have a problem with the foul call on a defender when they have both feet planted and arms extended straight up and the shooter jumps into the defender. Around here it is always a blocking foul and not a charge.
  19. New Post player Jena Adams has become a difference maker for Central. When you can go 10 deep with no let off in production, that is what makes Central so tough. Kylie plays big in big games, Madison is just now getting up to game speed, and like I said, the missing link, IMO, has been a dominant post player. Central is loaded with perimeter players and now has the inside presense which will cause Polk a match up problem.
  20. McMinn Central returns everyone this year AND has a post player that has really come on strong lately. They lost in semi's last year by 2 in a game decided by foul shots. Better not over look the Chargerettes! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  21. From McMinn Central: Ben Stiles is a Two time All State DE Maury Ragland is All State this year at LB Zack Rayl at QB Jamin Godfrey is a great kicker, hit 55 out of 60 kick offs into the endzone this year
  22. What bothers me is that none of the Region 3 MVP's made this All State team! And one of these so called All Staters didn't even make all region! And as said before no one from Howard or McMinn Central or Polk for that matter was picked for the All Star game either!? Talk about a "Good Ole Boys" club!! BTW, I was in TACA at one time, I KNOW how the system works!! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  23. What a joke from Region 3! Two from Polk and Notre Dame! AND not a single one from Howard or McMinn Central plus left out Gunner Miller from East Ridge?!! I am sorry but Polk only had 1 and I am not sure if any N D players could have started for Howard!!
  24. Howard will be the team to beat in the boys, McMinn Central will be favored in the girls.
  25. I agree with a lot of your list. I saw England and Justice, Ogan, Widby and A. W. Davis all play. Was Coached by Davis at McMinn Central! I would also add Paul Webb from McMinn Central, he could flat shoot the lights out. Austin Clark from Kingston was also pretty darn good too. Kinda dates my age with these picks!
