Thank you etownsparky for the kind words. I am very proud of my girls and we came back to the Murphy Center to cheer the Lady Cyclones on. I wish they had won because I have great respect for Coach Dugger.

Here I take up for you baller and then you go and badmouth my team and my school...thought your girls would get there this year...hopefully it will spur them on for next season...

Being a little harsh aren't you Vader...going to State is a special experience that everyone should get to experience...sadly some never get the opportunity...hopefully one day they will...

I may be wrong...I am quite often...but I thought that going into the State Final the teams had split the previous 4 games and then SG went on to win giving them a 3-2 edge in the series that season...those were some great games to watch...

If memory serves me well...Hampton and Unicoi Co. played 5 times during the 1992 season...first in the Hardee's Classic Championship...then the two regular season games...and then in the District and Regional Championship games...Hampton won all 5 with the District Championship game being the only one that was close...Unicoi should have won that game actually...sadly they did not meet in the State Finals because Unicoi lost in the substate and Hampton lost in the State Semi's to Alcoa...good memories and two good teams...

Had to add one more thing to this discussion...I have been reading about all this fussing going on...you don't know what fussing is...I would like to see today's players go through one practice that we did everyday...Coach White was on us constantly...and you know why...because he believed in us...thought we could do better...I would much rather be fussed at and play than to not get fussed at and not play...because if you are not getting "corrected" for your mistakes then you are either playing as hard as you can and doing what the coach wants or you are sitting on the bench because he doesn't think you can get the job done...in the business it is called constructive criticism...some people have thin skin and can't take it...I can tell you from personal experience that I actually missed it when I got out of high school...atleast I knew that someone cared if I messed up or not...and the belief that Coach White had in us made us believe in him...that mutual respect got us all the way to the state championship game...of course, we didn't care who scored what. or who shot how many times, etc...that goes on too much today...these players are fortunate to play for such a coach and one day will look back and realize that...either fondly like I do...or regret it because they took it personally...and not for what it was intended to be...

Boys you are wasting your breath talking about this. You can't please everyone and shouldn't even try to. All decisions made should be made in the best interest of the TEAM, not the individual. As bad as that may seem it is true. You can't play EVERYONE and you cannot play ALL the same amount. Well...you can and you will get beat.

I know that I am partial but one of the best PURE shooters I have ever seen was Randy Waycaster from Hampton...way back in 1973-74...

Just wanted to let everyone know that tonight's game (Saturday) between Hampton and Claiborne Co. has been postponed.

Disappointing...you call yourself "formerdogg" yet you get on here and bash the coaches...I was proud to have played for Coach White and would do so again...if the body were able...just who would you like to see on the bench...and...what players should he play that he is not playing right now...I can't wait to read this...
