Congratulations to both teams for making it this far. Give credit where credit is due. Hampton played very well and Coach Oliver and staff (Calhoun & James) did an excellent job. Finally got "over the hump" and won a big game, not only for the team but the program as well.

Good Luck 'Dogs...not many people get a chance to play in a championship game so don't take it for granted and don't be satisfied with just getting there. This is just the next step up the ladder. We're pullling for you at H.E.S.

King, are you sure that the '95 Hampton/Cloudland game only went 4 overtimes? I seem to remember it going a couple more. I could be mistaken but I thought it went six o.t.'s Maybe someone can correct me. The '96 Hampton/Cloudland game, Hampton 14-0 was also a dandy. Two great teams going at it.

Thanks for the response paintwatcher. So you are saying that you can take a player out even if you have no one to put in for them? And then put them back into the game at a later time?

Say a team starts a game with five(5) players and one of the players gets in foul trouble. The Coach takes the player out for a quarter to keep them from fouling out. Can this be done? Can you take a player out of the game with no one to sub in for him? I know that you have to start a game with five(5) players but you can finish with however many you have left, but I'm not sure about the substitution rules? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What a great society we live in. A team goes out and exceeds all expectations, wins their third straight District Championship, goes 28-2 and people are already on here bashing them and their coach. Shame on you. Coach Campbell is what you call 'good people'. I'd say that you people on here talking about him would be glad to have him coach your team. He does a great job year in & year out and does it with class, what more could a person ask for. I for one am proud of what the Lady Blazers accomplished and what a tremendous job Coach Campbell did with this team.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs for their big win over the Cyclones. They are playing well as of late and could make some noise come tournament time if they stay focused. Once again...well done Coach Hazelwood and players.

You are absolutely 100% correct coacht. The first word out of a parents mouth about playing time should automatically lead to the forfeiture of their child's uniform. Some people say, "don't punish the kid because of the parent", but if you don't, the rest of the parents will swarm all over you if they see that you did nothing about it. Examples have to be made, precedents have to be set.

Kudos to Coach Hazelwood and the Bulldogs for their victory over the Sullivan Central Cougars. This win could do a lot of good down the stretch for the Bulldogs. They have some confidence in themselves and are playing hard. Once again, Congratulations!!!

Here we go with the Carter Co. cracks again...Some of us from Carter Co. appreciate good basketball no matter who is playing it..I think that you should direct your remarks towards the team that you are referring to and not generalize a whole county...Sure I am a diehard Bulldogs fan but I like to see them play Volunteer, Central, Elizabethton, etc...because it is good competition...I don't get on here talking about how good or bad they may be or how good or bad some other team is going to be...Just let the teams play and it will all come out in the wash.

Great post osubrutus...A lot of kids take that for granted...You can not put all of your dreams into one season (senior year)...If they do it can be an all too painful lesson learned...
