  1. It is unfair for people to continuously accuse Catholic and CAK of recruiting players. MOST (not all) of their players went to one of the feeder schools. For CAK that is CAK middle school. For Catholic you have Sacred Heart, St. Josephs, St. John Neuman. The above average athletes from West Valley Bearden Middle and other local middle schools seem to flock to the better programs. It happens to be the Catholic is excelling in soccer, football, and baseball right now. CAK is improving in every sport as well, but to accuse those schools of going out and recruting is unfare to the coaches who have built those programs to their current levels. Good luck to both CAK and Catholic.
  2. John Anders from Knoxville Catholic. And take your pick from Farragut High School
  3. Shane everyone at Knox Catholic is praying for you. Good Luck man
  4. A source within the team told me that Donald is a fine athlete but they are still not sure where he can help. He was not aggressive enough to play linebacker and was moved to DE, not sure if they have switched him back to LB yet. I would not count on him playing much in 08. possible 09 if he gets his grades right.A source within the team told me that Donald is a fine athlete but they are still not sure where he can help. 5. Most coaches at high schools usually will help the athlete get recrutied. i know at my school, the athlete will go and get a highlight film made at an editing studio(HP Video, WBIR, etc.) then give the video to the coach, and the coach will send it out to various schools. if the school likes what they see they will send some questionaires and possibly a coach to visit the school. All of this is relatively cheap compared to the NCSA and Recruit. But if it works for you then that is great. Good luck to you in your recruiting process
  6. the NCSA is basically a program charges student athlete's parents money in order to get their child "recruited". there are several other similar organizations such as Recruit. They send you a letter of interest, then you must follow up with a phone call to schedule a meeting. Basically it is a big rip off. If you are good enough of an athlete then you will get recruited with out the services of these companies.
  7. 99.1 the Sports Animal in Knoxville. Best sports radio in the state IMO. John Wilkerson called the games for KC this year and did a great job
  8. Road, Thanks for the info on last years game. Congratulations to both teams for making it back. Again. Both teams are outstanding, and Fulton's defense seems to be getting better week by week. DL has impressed me this year with their ability to find a way to win. That is a sure sign of great team. I can't wait to watch this one. But look for Fulton's defense to prove why they are one of the best defenses in the state. Good luck to both teams. Fulton by 4.
  9. This game should be a fine one, both teams are somewhat talented, but catholic has the edge in that department. as for the football guys playing, walden, kennedy, hood, williamson, mitchell, irwin, and ponzurick will all be playing tonight. I give this game to the irish based on size and overall skill. the irish play tough defense. CAK is much improved this year. they played a great game against a TOUGH AC team. good luck to both team. i am sure the CCC and Darden's army will be pumped up for this one.
  10. Coming from a Region 2-3A fan, DL will win this game, along with the next one. This is the year for the young men at David Lipscomp to finally reach their ultimate goal. Good Luck to both teams and hopefully its injury free.
  11. Dustin Tait, #8 LB from Knox Catholic. 6'1.5 228. Strong, quick, makes good reads.
  12. those statistics are amazing, stokes and company will have their hands full.
  13. well if those 2-3 thousand fans at the catholic webb games are louder and more enthusiasitic than the 8-10 at the bearden farragut game than that would create a better atmosphere. the stands were quiet for the majority of the game
  14. Fulton is playing tough right now. Stokes runs the ball just as good as anyone on Fulton's team, and look for him to be a major factor on the ground in this game. Fulton wins this game by at least 6.
  15. That was a very exciting game last night. Both teams showed great sportsmanship and are both decent teams at best. farragut was completely dominated on the line of scrimmage by a stronger and more aggressive bearden team. Bearden looked very beatable, though. Works played the game of his life, and I hope he keeps it up in the next two games. The atmosphere was no where near what i expected for a Bearden Farragut game. AE Fulton, Catholic Webb, Fulton Catholic, AC Clinton all had a much better enviornment in my opinion. #20 and Alex Encarnacion are both very outstanding athletes. FHS linebacking corp plays extremely timid. the BHS Lbs play the run very well but can NOT open their hips and play the pass.A good QB will expose that in the next two weeks. Zack Allen is a fine athlete, and will make a great Division II athlete. Good luck BHS. FHS you had an outstanding season, nothing to be ashamed of.
  16. to argue that bearden is a one dimensional offense is completely illogical. Play action then throw deep? #19 had over a thousand yards this year. Grant it, Halliday has not been playing up to his potential, but he is still a solid QB and has the trust of his team mates. You could make the argument that the admirals are one-dimensional based on Andre's numbers alone. Enough reason for the BHS safeties to play run first pass second. Martland's performance in the fourth quarter will prove crucial as Bearden loads the box with 8 defenders late in the game. Both RB's will have under 150 yds. each. (i know a bold statement for Andre)
  17. its too bad that this board has turned into nothing but trash talking from each schools respected student sections. this game is going to be outstanding, and i look forward to making it to my first ever Bearden Farragut game. To my understanding that English kid will be playing, but he will be limited. That is a blow for the Dogs. He is a fine athlete, luckily they have other athletes to pick up slack. Is the game at bearden? also i hear farraguts "admiral navy" has something special planned. Good luck to both squads, hope its injury free.
  18. exactly, let the kids celebrate all they want. students will be students, along with players being players. but the parents and coaches should wait until after the opposing team has made its way to the locker room
  19. Bennet is a fine athlete. I have heard from a source inside the program that many of his tackles seem to be assists and at the ankles. from what i have seen, he will be playing safety at the next level. He has great linear speed, but needs work on lateral movement/breaking on the ball. The stats seem kind of exaggerated as well. He is a great kid though.
  20. Both teams are very improved from the begining of the year. The BHS defense is playing better than it has all year. That C.J. Gunn kid seems to be improving weekly. I talked to a coach at BHS and it looks like they have a couple injuries they are going to have to overcome. FHS probably has the best running back this side of the state has seen in years. Not only an outstanding player, but an outstanding person. Great kid with a good attitude. Martland is solid at QB and #20 is a good back up for Sterling. FHS secondary seems somewhat unproven. Look for Halliday to exploit the Admiral's defense. Good luck to both teams and young men as they take a step towards the 'boro. BHS-24 FHS-21
  21. Phillips is an outstanding QB, and a steal for the Badgers. Kentucky recevied a somewhat early commitment from Alcoa QB Randall Cobb. This could have been a factor in him choosing Wisconsin. Good luck to the kid, and all the folks in Knoxville are rooting for him.
  22. i agree. Both teams have enourmous amounts of respect towards each other. That is the main point, and its a shame that a stereotype has been placed on either team.
  23. No one is whining about the celebration. I was simply pointing out that it was simply classless. As was the irish fans planting the flag in the middle of the field at AE. Losing 9 seniors from the irish defense will definitly hurt them, but expect the irish to make a strong playoff run in the coming 3 years. the nine defensive senior starters all have college football potential, most at the D 1AA and DII level.
  24. both teams are filled with talent. fulton has key coaching experience which will prove to be crucial in this inner-city match up. Special teams will play huge in this game. i give the nod to the falcons based on experience. Look for David Lipscomb to run away with the title. hopefully a 2 3A will bring it home. 21-20 falcons
