  1. I've only been back in this area for just over 20 yrs. but in my humble opinion, Key is the best to come out of the Upper Cumberland area during this time. I closely followed Indiana high school BB for many years, while I lived there, and this young man could have started on any of the great teams there during that time. The only thing I've ever seen that I disagreed with in his game was, he was too UNselfish!
  2. The game consists of 4 full quarters. What makes you think Van Buren will have "more steam" in the tournament than they had during the regular season?
  3. Don't know how long you have been following Upper Cumberland teams but I'd bet not very long. Two district 7A and two 8AA teams in the state tourney says it all. It takes some luck to go into the roundhouse and win but you do not win there, luck or no luck, with a weak team!
  4. I'd like to congratulate an ever improving LA team for the great job they have done this season. You have made this old fan very proud of the way you play the game. You have proven what a team can do when they give 100% at all times. Congrats to the the LA coaching staff for the job they have done! It takes good teaching/coaching to get young men to this level of play. Secondly, congratulation to a good Macon co. team on their win tonight.
  5. Cumberland co. is a good team and could beat most AAA teams on a given night but I believe your opinion of their ability is a little 'lofty'.
  6. Both teams are playing their best ball of the season just when they need to. Hope I'm wrong but Macon by 10.
  7. Almost any team can beat another team on a given night. Macon co. made it clear who is the best in 8AA. It's hard to beat any team three in a row, but M.C. did that to the second place district 8AA team. ----- The argument about the strength of A vs AA can be argued forever. Who cares? Each class plays in their on tournaments.----After watching most of the top players in the area with an unbiased opinion, I don't see how there can be an argument about who is the best player in the Upper Cumberland. Taking nothing away from any other player in this area, Key is head and shoulders above anyone now playing in the Upper Cumberland. There is no one even close!
  8. When LA plays up to their potential, they are a very good team. Their problem almost all season is they've been playing way beneath their potential.
  9. I believe tonight's Stone Mem. game will tell a lot about whether they're ready for the run.
  10. Good post by a guy who always tells it like he sees it, and he doesn't see it thru 'rose colored glasses'.
  11. Thanks, I was misinformed.
  12. LA has the talent and experience, with five seniors, to move up and/or make some noise in the tournament but at this point it looks like they're taking the same path as last year. A downward spiral.
  13. Is she the new post player recruited from Shelbyville?
  14. I realize you know more than anyone else about girls BB but Greenville is an AA team.
  15. MCHS 48 Upperman 47----Weak as water?
  16. I have to disagree with you. If the efforts of the players on the floor is not there, better coaches look down the bench. If that doesn't happen(going to players that are working harder) and players have their starting spot and/or playing time locked in because they are upperclassmen or other reasons, then you are correct! The coaches that continue to play their best, hardest working players continue to take their teams deeper into the tournament.
  17. Key is not the typical Upper Cumberland 'good' player. He is that special kind of player who makes everyone around him better and who would fit in and look good anywhere.
  18. Fans, who have not seen Key play, have no idea what enormous talent this young man has.
  19. Almost everyone who was not familiar with teams in the southern part of the state was wondering who the heck he was, when he was picked for the Indiana allstar team his senior year.
