  1. Saw on Twitter today that Corn got a Purdue basketball offer. If so...I bet he accepts.
  2. He is a DI college football prospect and Weak DI college basketball prospect. He has admitted he would rather play college basketball over football. He has a big ego and would probably pass up schools in low profile leagues ie Conference USA etc. It would have to be SEC, ACC, etc. Not sure he can play at that level. I predict he will stay in state to play either sport.
  3. A proposal to unify all public and private schools in the regular season before separating them in the playoffs was denied by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s Legislative Council on Wednesday. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20121205/SPORTS07/312050133/TSSAA-votes-against-public-private-multiplier-changes?odyssey=nav%7Chead Trousdale County High School submitted the proposal. Trousdale County schools superintendent Clint Satterfield, a former Yellow Jackets football coach states: “We’re all members of TSSAA, so we all play together during the regular season and then when we start tournament play then we would separate,†Satterfield said. “I think private schools have a distinct advantage over public schools.†“Some people really like (the idea),†Satterfield said. “Some people really hate it. I think the larger schools don’t like it because the Class 5A and 6A schools say, ‘I’ve got to play against Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, MUS, McCallie and Baylor. I don’t want to play them. They’re going to see my kids and recruit my kids.’ If their kids are really good, those schools have already got their eyes on them anyway.†Division II private and Division I public will never be allowed to combine regular seasons or playoffs. Good private football schools will soon not be able to schedule public schools. The TSSAA seems not to care.
  4. They do have some "say".....But do they support private schools like public schools. i.e. playing football championship on a week night, making it hard or working parents. Public plays championship games on Friday/Saturdays. Never has there been an plan to alternate the game nights. The new Division I playoff criteria penalizies Division II teams trying to schedule DI teams. Is the TSSAA focusing on a solution? Probably not....time to succeed from the TSSAA.
  5. Public schools are turning down some quality opponents (DII-AA) due to Division I playoff wild-card criteria for overall wins. So DII-AA teams are coming up short scheduling for 2013. Is the TSSAA concerned? If so what are they doing to support DII-AA schools with this bias disregard when it comes to scheduling? I think you will see in the future all non division DII-AA opponents will be out of state. It is apparent to me that the TSSAA does not support private schools and the private schools should terminate membership and form a private school association. Sad because public and private school kids love playing each other. http://franklinhomepage.com/filling-football-schedules-tough-task-for-some-cms-10239 Comments
  6. You must enjoy being annoyed. Majority of the people on this site are here merely to pump up their team.
  7. No student at BA gets the max...the family has to contribute. Can't say that about other financial aid based schools on their policies. Twing....Why is the TSSAA ignoring this blatant Recruiting in your opinion? Are they still Shellshocked from BA lawsuit?
  8. BA, Ensworth, MBA have one natural middle school to draw from, their own. Ryan has multiple middle schools. So, yes BA, Ensworth and MBA have to draw and compete for kids from outside their natural areas. That is what private schools do all over the nation. Most private schools recruit by being good schools and offering something different than what other private or public schools offer.
  9. It's a clearinghouse that determines the aid...not one BA representative is present on decisions
  10. I'm waiting for the "last word" too, so this thread can DIE.....please.
  11. Next day tapes.....Same way you guys install a jumbotron. Money, cash, $$$$. Guess you never had a kid play sports. If you did you would understand. So What does it matter if you win, lose, or tie. If your kid was playing you watch will it. It's a memory good, bad, first game or last game of the kids life. You love your kids and his teammates so you watch. What's the big deal?
  12. BA goes 3 and out in final minutes. In a close game you have to be able to move the chains. BA struggles in that part of the game. BA is big on the big plays but you have to move the chains late in game with a 2 point lead. MUS made BA pay tonight. Congrats MUS.
  13. Wow...not a bad prediction. MUS should a lot of character coming back after being down by 23 points. Hey MUS coaches....STOP Elder and you take a gold ball back to Memphis.
  14. MBA goes away with a loss tonight by 35 points. Won't close.
  15. Should be 2 great semi-final games. Hope for injury free games. MUS beats BA in a close and high scoring game. BA beat MUS 2 years ago at Memphis, handily. So MUS will use that as an incentive in this game. Cousins, brothers, whatever, Ensworth vs MBA is a major DII rivalry now. Lots of emotion in this game. Coach Rickey will pull all stops. If MBA can stop Corn it will be close if not....Enworth by 21.
  16. Time for the "kissing cousin game" Ensworth vs MBA. Ensworth by 21
  17. I don't see any upsets in round 2. Not even a remote chance. Games will be blow outs and boring. Looking forward to semi-final round, that's when things get exciting.
  18. Yolo - your 2nd post was awesome dude!
  19. MKD - I was in a state of depression after my son's high school football season was over. Becoming tight with other senior dads helped. My dad told me he felt the same way about me. Time moves on, memories last forever. Thanks for a different topic to read.
  20. Everybody makes the playoffs no matter what. Guess it is good for the football programs to be guaranteed an extra game every year. Of course T$$AA likes the extra cash
  21. This will be a very emotional game for Potter and some of BA coaches who coached with him for 5 years. Potter did not leave BA on a friendly note. A win for McCallie would make their year. BA needs to bounce back from the spanking by the University of Ensworth. BA's QB and offense needs a good game to make for last week. Could be a close game early but BA's speed wears McCallie down and BA will covers deadaim's 21 point spread.
  22. You are right on with brackets. Still think the west should only have 1 bye and the east should have 3. Wonder how the TSSAA will work out the brackets next year with BGA dropping out?
