  1. Last meeting at Baylor was a close game. Missed xp for BA gave Baylor the win. Should be another close game. BA off bye week should be ready, Baylor off emotional game against McCallie has momentum. High scoring game. BA 42 Baylor 38
  2. Broken record time again....... Stop Elder.....MBA wins Don't stop Elder.....MBA loses Agree with KWoodroof, MBA should employ the 8-6-1 defense. University of Ensworth 38 Big Red 24
  3. They both will qualify for the TSSAA playoffs.....which is be a member, be in the DII AA classification and have at least 11 players show up for the playoff game. Pretty simple, maybe Blue and Red will meet then after obtaining such a honor of qualifying. Not putting down either team just the playoff process for DII AA.
  4. Come on Doct....."play it's best". That philosopy will motivate the team. I would hope each and every player, coach and fan at BA starts each year with the expectation to win the state championship. Potter had outstanding talent in 5 yrs at BA. Lost 2 championship games, lost 2 semi-final games but got embarrassed last year. Every team he coached set a goal to win state, not play its best.
  5. His relationship with coaches, players and parents became uncomfortable at BA for many reasons. That will not happen at McCallie. Thus the reason he left. It's a more comfortable coaching job with the expectations for state championships less than at BA. He has been successful at McCallie and he will be in the future. Baylor 28 McCallie 17
  6. I think the McCallie head coaching job is Potter's for as long as he wants to coach there. The Potter name has been associated with McCallie for a long time. His coaching record there and at BA indicates a winning percentage of .666. Sort of mediocre. Years 2000 and 2006 were good years with a state championship. Again IMO, Potter and the football program will be comfortable with winning 2 out of 3 games for the foreseeable future. At BA the expectation was different, which became an uncomfortable situation and thus a change in coaches.
  7. Not sure when a coach feels comfortable whether that's a good thing or not. I think it's creates mediocracy.
  8. Agree with WesVLT on rankings. With the TSSAA mindset that it's politically correct to allow ALL DII AA teams into playoff, only the top two teams matter on final standings.
  9. BGA might want to drop to DII A this year. They have BA, Baylor and Ensworth left on schedule. Only W left on schedule is Father Ryan. They will stay make the playoffs.
  10. Cornsworth with 300 yds rushing, a one man show, the only weapon Ensworth has. When teams figure this out they will beat Ensworth. If not they will have to wait till next year.
  11. The national decline is mirrored at JP2 and Ryan. From The National zcatholic Reporter: How severe is the crisis? It’s “the largest institutional crisis in centuries, possibly in church history,†says the National Catholic Reporter. Worldwide, the Roman Catholic Church now has 1.1 billion members, compared with 1.5 billion Muslims and 593 million Protestants. In the U.S., all the major denominations have seen their numbers decline in recent years, but the Catholic Church has taken the biggest hit. Since the 1960s, four American-born Catholics have left the church for every one who has converted, according to a 2009 Pew study. In 2008 alone, Catholic membership declined by 400,000. More than 1,000 parishes have closed since 1995, and the number of priests has fallen from about 49,000 to 40,000 during that same period. Some 3,400 Catholic parishes in the U.S. now lack a resident priest. “Catholicism is in decline across America,†says sociologist David Carlin.
  12. University of Enworth 35 The Baylor School 17
  13. Hey coach - what is your best guess on how many Rutherford County kids attend Ensworth and how many of them are on the football team? How much money is coming from that Ensworth checkbook to these kids? Just curious.
  14. You are asking for a lot. The only JP2 Coach T posters are during baseball season. Non-existent during football. NCS football Coach Brothers (BA alum) survived for awhile with the Tate brothers, but since then it's been a tough go for JP2.
  15. Wes - not sure what to discuss about this game. BA QB will be back from being banged up which will not be good news for JP2 secondary. This is a division game which hypes it up some, but BA wins by 5 TD's. It's OK though, JP2 will still make the playoffs.
  16. They have been the past few years.
  17. MBA 24 Baylor 20. Oh well, close.
  18. It will be close with MBA pulling it out late in the game. 28 - 24 MBA
  19. Game article http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/sports/preps-quarterbacks-breakout-performance-carries-ba-past-mba?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  20. Meritage - I was at the game, no need to watch film. I was being facetious on my comment to the danman, read it again. By the way, I was at the state championship track meet too.
  21. Maybe the BA receivers were not fast, maybe the Vandy officials screened the MBA defenders, thus the appearance of very fast receivers.
  22. Ensworth 2008 scheduled some weak opponent's, but since then they have played quality teams. http://www.hsfdatabase.com/tn_ensworth2005.htm
  23. Some might question you on that. The last coach got in some hot water and some think he was worst. Depends on how you define "worst".
  24. Half BA 14 MBA 6. Should be a good 2nd half.
