  1. TCA is not going to get past UC, not going to happen. I've yet to see a logical basketball explanation just how TCA is going to go into UC gym and pull out a win.
  2. You don't have a clue, this was when Daddy Sisco coached at Kenton High School. I do not stretch the truth, i'm not like that, i assume it was a bus ride, but i could care less one way or the other. I'm also speculating this t be a woodshed game as you are on the record saying otherwise, in fact you say TCA might win or it could go either way.....thats just not going to happen, take it to the bank, mail in the stats.
  3. What was the kid that didn't play for Mitchell? Mitchell didn't have its full compliments of players, I think. Mitchell got out of school , traveled two hours, got off the bus, got a 14 point win (in a 32 minute game I might add), held the opponent to 38 points at the other teams home gym, for the region championship. Had this been at Mitchell or neutral court it certainly would have been much worse for TCA. Let me get this on the record again: just to get it on the record. guess the author of the following comment? I've seen UC play and they are very good but they will not take us to the woodshed. This game will be very close either way. You obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about.
  4. just to get it on the record. guess the author of the following comment? I've seen UC play and they are very good but they will not take us to the woodshed. This game will be very close either way. You obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about.
  5. I agree with that, i've seem it a million times with superior teams. UC will not flinch in this game but TCA may get overwhelmed. If that happens and at what point in the game it does is when it'll be over. One of those type things you see a close game and 3 minutes later the superior teams has gone on a 10/12/14 to 0 run and overwhelmed the other team. Anyway, good luck to both teams. I just see this as a woodshed game, I really do.
  6. I know you follow the sport, honestly how do you see this game playing out considering this is at UC.
  7. Don't sweat this dude, TCA and UC both have great kids. Some people are just over the top in their fandom. It's a basketball game is all. He called me ignorant, I laughed so hard...just totally ignored everything. Honestly, i have nothing against TCA and always pull for the Jackson teams.
  8. ha-ha, that's typical........i've seen fans like you forever.......LOL so funny , i think the reality is you know i'm right about this but just can't bring yourself to admit it, you got me rolling here dude. Honestly, i don't think you have a clue what it's going to be like to go into UC's gym and have to face an incredibly hungry superior team like this on the road, I really don't think you understand. UC at home ain't no joke. Be straight up, don't be scurd. Everybody on message boards have eaten crow a time or two, even me LOL let me try it this was OK. Pick a number, does UC win by 5/10/15/20 or more. Just so you know I did see where you posted somewhere else this would not be a woodshed game, so you are on the record.
  9. I have no bias, i could care less who wins, really. Are you implying UC doesn't have grit and determination? or is TCA so much so they have more than any opponent and its worth a few points......what if UC has just as much? whats that worth? especially considering they are the superior team and playing at home.........this is going to be a woodshed game, I think.
  10. I've been on my job for 22 years.......so much so i was able to take the day off. I notice you have nothing to dispute anything, talk about ignorance. Union City will win this game and in impressive fashion. Predict a margin right now and lets see how it plays out...be decisive, what do u think the margin will be, one way or the other. I can guarantee UC has as much heart, grit, and determination as any team so that means nothing. Please point out where anything i posted is wrong. Again, right now i want to know what you think the margin will be. TCA is not going to lay down, no team jsut lays down , but many do get beat down........not because of a lack of grit, desire, and determination, but because some teams are simply better and on another level..........not sure how hard that is to understand, especially when there is all kinds of evidence to back it up.
  11. This is only in reference to UC vs TCA Let’s just cut to the chase and put the homerism stuff to rest and look at this game for what it is. UC is most likely going to take TCA out behind the woodshed. Everything point to an outcome like that. Of course anything can happen. I just like to deal in reality. Homeric perspectives can almost (not always) be discarded because judgment can get clouded. Nothing wrong with that, just saying I’ve seen this so many times over the years. I actually stopped coming here for the most part because it became impossible to have a rational conversation on basketball because people cannot put HOMERISM aside. When it’s brought up its like, haters! LOL or something as childish as hey come to the game and meet me…how freaking ridiculous is that? If I show up somebody gonna dodo in they britches. Just saying ha-ha…talking smack and banter is cool; it’s also cool and incumbent upon whomever to put things in perspective when they see things that don’t square with reality. I’ve been around this game even before I played for old man Sisco way back in the day. My only allegiance is to Jackson SS but I’m always straight up, I picked Haywood to beat them and the game never be in doubt…why? Because that’s what most likely to happen. Union City IS NOT going to be surprised by any teams fan base. This isn’t their first rodeo; this program has as rich tradition as any in the state…..or at worst close too. If anyone thinks UC now, recently, and historically doesn’t know about clutch and pressure situations they must have been under a rock dating back to when Daddy Sisco and Stanley Caldwell went on they’re run. There is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing that TCA is going to be able to throw at UC, just not going to happen. UC will never flinch. This is a HOME game for UC…..TCA IS NOT going to go into UC and come out with a win, not going to happen. UC has rich tradition and an insane fan base as well. Just like all fan bases they have the crazies too. I would also point out little Sisco could care less, he will not he hesitant at all to put the hammer down on TCA and run them out of the gym. People can believe what they want to, nothing wrong with that at all. For me, this is a rather easy one to pick. Nothing against TCA but they aren’t on the same planet as UC. That’s just the way it is. UC plays in the toughest single A district in the state. As always its seems, the district is so tough the region championship is usually two teams from the same district, just like this year UC/Humboldt. It’s always helpful to be mindful single A is the lowest level in the state. I just point this out as a reminder these are not dominant AA/AAA. However, UC is one of the few single A programs that could consistently win and sometimes win big at a higher level. TCA is not now and has never been that kind of program. TCA had a good season but far from dominant, and we are talking single A here. UC had as dominant season as you’ll find at this level (and no they are not on the same planet as the MJ brown team either) I don’t buy the stuff when blanket comments are made about whomever 7th and 8th guy can start for most, who are most? They are 7th and 8th because they are not 1 thru 6 for a reason. Yeah maybe the bottom rung of the ladder types they might start. I saw a guy make a blanket statement not long ago his team had 5 guys average 15 a game or something like that I simply said BS, that doesn’t happen in a 32 minutes game averaged out. If a team has two players at 15 + avg that’s good, 3 is awesome, 5 doesn't happen. I don’t want to hear about anomalies either because anomalies are FAR out of the norm. You know like Tony Delk once averaged 37 a game, or Cannon Whitby 40, or John Jenkins 40…. well how often does that happen when considering every team in every class in every sing year, what percentage does Delk/Whiteby/Jenkins fall into, maybe 1% of 1% ha-ha blanket statements are meaningless without number to back them up (even if stats per minute so at least you have something to extrapolate) A few things to think about: THIS IS A HOME GAME FOR UC, A DOMINANT SINGLE A TEAM THIS YEAR. Union City margins are absolutely impressive; remember high school is a 32 minute game so when you are basically on balance destroying 2/3rd of your opponents by +20 well enough said on that front. Then to think your last 10 is by +27. Not to mention the out of district schedule far superior to TCA and playing in a rock solid district that is also far superior to TCA. UC 30-3 average pts for 71.2 against 49.3 (avg margin 21.9 for a 33 game schedule) TCA 25-9 average pts for 57.1 against 49.3 (avg margin 7.8 for a 34 game schedule) LAST 10 GAMES, TO INCLUDE DISTRIC AND REGION PLAY UC 10-0 average pts for 78.6 against 51.5 (margin 27.1) TCA 9-1 average pts for 62.1 against 48.3 (margin 13.8) TOP OTHER TWO TEAMS IN EACH DISTRICT (record to include post season) I would submit Humboldt and Halls are absolutely equals to Middleton and Adamsville, most likely better but that’s just an opinion based on many factors. Union City record against the Humboldt and Halls 7-0 avg pts for 73.8 against 48 (avg margin 25.8) TCS record against Middleton and Adamsville 4-2 avg pts for 54.6 against 52.8 (avg margin 1.8) The out of district schedules are simply no comparison, UC had a far superior out of district schedule. The non woodshed games decided by 10 points or less (to include losses) UC 2-3 one loss to a TN team (Jackson SS) U TCA 10-9 The Woodshed wins by 20 or more UC 20 wins +20 TCA 6 wins +20 I don’t think so but if some of the numbers are off, the deviation would be small and not measurable. So for those that think TCA has a legit shot to go into Union City and pull off a stunner I would say good luck on that one. I just don’t see it happening; in fact I think UC might blow out TCA. I might be wrong and if so I have no problem admitting after the fact because after all it’s only a game, not war and peace ya know.
  12. Jackson SS is going to have to play almost a flawless game to have a chance. The odds of that are slim. Haywood should win this one and the game never be in doubt, maybe not a blowout but Haywood should pull out an impressive win.
  13. Mitchell gets out of school or leaves early, travels two hours to play for region championship, tip off 7:30 PM, in a hostile environment and wins by 14......that's the real story right there. If this would have been neutral court or at Mitchell this would have been really bad for TCA. I know the region was at TCA but it was still a home game, post season. I take nothing away from TCA, fans can be unreal and sometimes don't know when to temper the enthusiasm. This ain't my first rodeo. Good luck to TCA and congrats on a fine season, TCA has one more game and the season will be over, They will not beat UC, this will be a woodshed game.
  14. TCA vs Mitchell While Mitchell is the prohibitive underdog, they do have a punchers chance. Having to overcome a far more talented TCA team, the vaunted TCA defense, home cooking, and the hostile environment might just be too much for this overachieving Mitchell team. The buzz is that no fewer that 15 D1 coaches or some form of staff will be in attendance to peek in on this incredibly talented TCA team, a team many consider to be the top team in the state regardless of class. If Mitchell can go into the 4th quarter behind no more that 10 they have a chance, albeit slim. For the Mitchell and TCA fans I say good luck to both teams. Anybody can be beaten on any given night; it’s always been that way. Call me crazy but I have a feeling Mitchell might take TCA behind the woodshed in this one. I know the odds of this are probably 10000 to 1, just a feeling I have is all. I’ve been wrong many times, just as everyone else has. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mitchell shocked the world in this one.
  15. TCA is the best team in the entire state, regardless of class.........mail in the stats. TCA is just that good.
  16. I DO NOT BELEIVE ANY TEAM IN THE STATE HAS FOUR PLAYERS AVERAGING 15 TO 20 POINT A GAME, ON THE SAME TEAM. THAT IS SO RARE, ESPECIALLYU FOR A 32 MINUTE GAME. I WANT TO SEE THE STATS FOR EVERY SINGLE GAME BEFORE I BUY SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
  17. who cares if he played of not, who cares if he was a non factor. oh but mines bigger than yours, not its not mines biggfer than yours, not its not mines bigger than yours, no its not minies boggers than yours. If the argument is Hicks is not that good its a false argument. if the argument is he was a non factor so be it. move on, oh but mines bigger than yours, no its not.
  18. I have no dog in this hunt, just my opinion. If I was forced to bet the farm on a game between UC and Mitchel I would take Mitchel WITHOUT HESITATION. In fact I would say by double digits. As far as TCA, well not even going to justify that one with a comment LOL The UC scedule isn't even on the same planet as Mitchel. Not sure who may or may not have ever said that, really don't care to be honest. These message boards are filled with emotional HOMERISM KOOLAID DRINKERS. Take a step back people, put down the koolaid, evaluate the rosters (overall size, postions strengths, and gaurd postions), the schedules, the scores, the recent post season successs (the current players, not the ones that won it all in 1927 or whenever) One last thing....TCA in tha house LOL the masters of the 360 between the leg winmill dunks, oh and they never turn the ball over , and have the best three point shooting tema in the history of highschool BB. So when TCA comes to a local gym near you be very careful and make sure the yellow tape isd handy, the kind they use to seal off crime scenes, because something bad is about to happen to whoever the opponent might be.....TCA aint no joke!!!!!!!!! TESTIFY! Look, anything can happen and anybody can be beat. We all know that OK. Just try to apply logic and not emotional homerism to things, thats all I'm saying. Oh and the state ranking are about as worthless as anything and always has been. Just like every section of the stae is represented when in fact many times ranked teams could not even make it out of some of the tougher districts and regions.
  19. Hicks is not all hype and never has been. This kid is good and has hig mid major ro low high major talent. However, he will not ever suit up at that level in my opinin because he is not going to qualify. He'll be JUCO somewhere next season and from there its all up to him how far he may or may not go.
  20. TCA haha, now that's funny I apologize really, i'm rolling here. This is not even an ELITE team for SINGLE A, let me repeat SINGE A, one more time SINGLE A. It amazes me how some build up these teams on here.
  21. I didn't see where anyone said 100K in cars wasn't well deserved, missed that. I think the DC coach is one of the best coaches not only in TN but the whole country.
  22. I like this team as a potential winner of state or at least get to state. I'm thinking as the season progresses this team is going to be a point of discussion, they have a chance to be really good. Just have to see how the season plays out.
  23. USJ should be very good. I agree about the Craig kid, he has that kind of potential as he gets oder. Hughes is a beast.
  24. Jaylen Fisher is the most exciting player in the state, to watch. This kid has a chance to be a star in college, I think. Not saying he is the best player in the state, but he can't be to far behind some, and far ahead of most.
  25. Speaking of DC. Ya'll see that sweet ride Hubs rolling in, new Camarro I think. Doesn't the old man drive a newer, if not new Benz? Good stuff right there I tell ya.
