  1. Speaking as a Alcoa fan and parent, I have nothing but respect for CPA. CPA is hard nosed and well coached team that you have to work hard to beat. That is what it is all about.
  2. I heard Catlik has been studying the ways of the Cardinal.
  3. I agree. Let's play the Denver Broncos next year in the Hall of Fame Classic.
  4. Stars I never knew there were so much academics in making beans and taters. Does the AP class consist of fried okra and mac n cheese? If so, sign me up as lead taste tester!
  5. UCS, I have been very concerned about your recruiting obsession with Alcoa. My research indicates the basis of your obsession could be severe anxiety. Does your heart race uncontrollably when you hear the phrase "Alcoa" ? Do you break out in a cold sweat when you see the colors maroon and silver? If so, then you are suffering from severe anxiety. Your Doctor should be able to prescribe several different medications that could help. If you wish to address this problem without medication, then I suggest you take up a new interest, like fishing for example. However, please avoid looking at the boats and catches of other fisherman. Their superiority in equipment and ability could trigger another obsession event.
  6. Did WB play their starting OL and DL in the jamboree vs ALcoa?
  7. Nope. Not related to a criminal. Twenty-eight years in uniform serving this great nation. Proudly retired and still serving our nation in nuclear security. Hard core conservative; but that is not what this board is about. You are a sick person that desperately needs help. Please, get another hobby.....like quilting, scrap booking, or something less taxing to your conspiracy mindset.
  8. Not aware of any "freshman future star". Having been present for all scrimmage games and observed the frosh team playing in such, no one Lineman stood out or impressed me as having star quality. Of course time, and Alcoa's kick arse summer conditioning program, can fix a whole lot of shortcomings. That is Assuming the kids can be dedicated enough to survive four years of training.
  9. No, the only thing this proves is you have an unhealthy obsession that qualifies as borderline insanity. Please see a professional and get some help....bless your heart........
  10. We expect him to start and get a lot of carries once he clears a couple of nagging injuries. We expect to see him in the Webb game.
  11. Same challenge to you as all others. Prove it. As for your continued newbie chant; bless your heart, at least you have some claim to fame.
  12. Is your Aunt Chineese? I saw one like that at HB's the other night!
  13. I have people ask me how I like Alcoa all the time. I tell them about my families great experience with both academics and athletics. Showing them my son's 2006 G35 with sunroof and leather (w/UnderArmour sticker) always makes a big impression and is usually the deciding factor IMHO. Let's talk about that mole......first: is the capital L in moLe of significance or just a typo? We gotta get ahead of Stars on this. He will be on this faster than Momma Stars on a cheeseburger If he finds out out a moLe is taking his recruits!
  14. Ah, yet another "I have seen it", or "My brother's uncle's cousin said Rankin called his son". LOL. As I said before, as long as my son gets his new Lexus this year, I do not care who we recruit. His G35 getting a little long in the tooth (sarcasm off).
  15. Thanks for your post GVK. My sons have been in the Alcoa program since 2007. I have never witnessed any type of recruiting as we are often accused. I have witnessed Alcoa accused of bringing kids in through the Alcoa Plant (I honestly think MHS has just as many parents working there as we do, if any). I have seen recent drivel about the "cheap apartments" behind Lowes. What a joke..those things are up scale apartments. My recently married son and his bride could not afford to move there. There are many more of these "proofs". What I have witnessed since 2007 is family after family coming to Alcoa and doing exactly what I did in 2007. No recruiting, no jobs, no housing, etc.' we pay tuition or move into the district. Simple as that. We have great facilities. So what. Our students and community always deserve the best. The growth in our county happens to supply the tax base to support school and athletic improvements.....long overdue I might add. And let's be honest, Rankin is not the darling of the media, officials, or any other group associated with covering high school athletics. Unfortunate, as he is a good hard nosed football coach. Do you really believe recruiting at Alcoa would be overlooked. Not hardly. Rankin has too many haters to take that chance. Thata's enough. Good to hear from you my friend!
  16. UCSports, AKA Upper Cumberland Man needs some serious help. I believe he is still suffering from full scale PTSD after his beloved Upperman Bees got squashed 71 to 7 when they came to A-Town a few years ago. Bless his heart....
  17. I could not agree more. GHS will always be considered part of Blount County!
  18. Ones: even at 1 to 1. Twos: even at 1 to 1. Threes: West 1 to 0. Scrimmage called at that point due to storms. Ones only had two series each. West looked good with lots of speed. Alcoa ones were slow starting as usual but began moving the ball well on the ground on their TD drive.
  19. Changed to Alcoa at 5:00 Friday.
  20. I do agree with the more feminized male population. The rest......he ain't from around here!
  21. Another issue may be the concussion issue. I have run across numerous parents who say they will not allow their sons to play football. With all of the national attention and bad press, one has to wonder just what the net impact is at the middle school level. I suspect not much yet, but this could become a more significant issue in the future. I have not coached midget league in three years and I wonder what the numbers look like on local teams this fall?
  22. I agree with RR. You really have to want it to be successful at these schools. Young men these days have too many distractions to be devoted to a grueling near year round work out and season practice regiment. Top that with serious discipline expected in the class room and you weed them out quickly.
  23. I keep reading about all these freshmen transferring to the Rebs. Unfortunately, none of us know who these kids are. My guess these backfield boys took a look at the talent and did not see much opportunity for the next 3 years. Recon the Reb's frosh class of 34 had anything to do with their transfer?
