  1. Are you still coaching these days Possum?
  2. Get behind Coach Barnes and these coaches or get out. The man took over a train wreck of a program that was in shambles. The difference he has made in a short time is impressive. You can see a work ethic has been installed in these young men and they believe in the coaches, something that has been sorely lacking the last four years. It was very obvious last night that the Owls were a much better team and I am afraid whatever offense we would have ran last night would have the same result. If Soddy Daisy is going to have a winning program it will take everybody pulling in one direction, not parents saying we should run the wing T or I formation. Last time I checked I did not see a Jarvis Smith walking the sidelines. Give the coach time and he will turn it around.
  3. Wow, I wonder if several of the old coaches decided to sign up on Coach T and try to voice their displeasure with the decision. Coach Henry told the players to not play hard, really? Give me a break no way that happens. Deadly Catch and his comedy readings. Is it obvious he is either a coach who was on staff or a local coach in the Chattanooga area trying to keep somebody from taking the job. It's amazing how he appears on CoachT the day after Coach Orr resigns. Talk to any number of former players who played at SDHS when the program was going good and hear how disappointed they are in what's happened the last four years. It's not so much the losses it was how unprepared we looked, and some of the decisions made during the games. The coaches at SDHS have it better than any other coaches in the county. As stated earlier they dont have to touch the football field other than for practice or a game. Think Bill Price or Jason Fitzgearld would like to have somebody mow their field everyday? Not to mention the countless other things they have done for them. Hopefully Maynor will make a good hire
  4. You couldn't be farther from the truth Indian. The players on those teams played at the Soddy Daisy Kids Club and at MIddle Valley youth leagues. I have noticed over the years that you seem to spout off about some things which you don't know anything about. I would love to hear who you think "just showed up" because that is not true
  5. First call should be to the man who brought Soddy Dasiy football back in the mid nineties. Lots of his former players have children coming into the high school and I'm sure 99 percent of them would love to have him back at Soddy Daisy. We all know he loves a challenge of building a program. Another person who should receive a phone call is Sid Fritts. Very good football coach in Georgia who has family in Dunlap and Hixson. He has been interested in the opening at Soddy Daisy in previous years. Both guys are hard nosed strict coaches. They would get the boys out of the halls and on the field. Look at all other sports at SDHS, no reason to get mercy ruled almost each game against our district. We should be competitive with these teams and at least have a 5-5 or 6-4 season with the occasional 8-2 or 7-3. Let's see what happens in the next few weeks. Should be interesting.
  6. Great post Foozballman. I totally understand why he left for Cleveland but you can not help but wonder what kind of teams he would have had in the two years after he left Soddy Daisy and where the program would be at right now. There were definitely all of the ingredients in place to have some sustained success. As you said round peg, round hole.
  7. They should let SoddyDaisyCajun handle the website. He did the baseball programs. It looked really good. Every time I look at the football site it is never up to date or has any info.
  8. I don't see coach White joining Bill's staff
  9. I doubt Bill is on his way out though given his track record he is due for a move. Could it be that EK is going to help Coach Price this year and see if a certain Hamilton county job opens up for the following year?????
  10. Any chance EK comes back as Def. Coordiator? I know he is a offensive coach but I guarantee he can coach defense as well due to when he was at Soddy Daisy. What are the chances Coach Orr agrees to go back to his assistants role and let EK have his old office back along with that laptop computer. Could Maynor get some heat to from parents, Boosters to make this happen? You can't ignore the success he had at SDHS nor can you fault him for leaving due to the monetary increase he received although you have to wonder now if he wishes he had stayed put.
  11. Blueraiderfan, what happened? I know you seemed ready for a change early in the year from your posts and kind of changed your tune late in the season. As a Trojan fan I don't see how EK did not have more success up there after seeing what he did at Soddy Daisy in one year. Wonder if he wants to be a D Coordinator at Soddy Daisy for a year. Heck Coach Orr may let him be head coach and Orr be his assistant. I'm sure a lot of people would go for that.
  12. Wow.....Soddy daisy has a chance to win out and make the playoffs and they come out flat as a pancake. No emotion, no fire no enthusiasm. That has got to be on the head man. How he can not have them ready to play is beyond me. Seems like every season we get a couple of performances like last nights. You could see that fire and emotion hit the kids in the second quarter after we scored a couple of times but they have to have it when they take the field and the coaches have to get it out of them. As for Cleveland......wow is all I can say. I can not believe that was a EK Slaughter coached team I was watching. Very undisciplined on offense, out of sync timing wise. Sure they scored 40 points but they played on a short field all night. That in no way resembled the Saughter coached ream I watched at Soddy Daisy for a whole season and I am not talking talent, scheme, etc. I am talking organization, discipline, etc. Is it possible some coaches are just a good fit at different schools?
  13. As a former player of coach Price I have to disagree with your bashing of him and his inability to be a so called like coach. Many of my fondest memories from high school are related to my days of playing football for Coach Price. He is very strict on his players and you can be assured if they run afoul of his rules then they will be punished as I witnessed on several occasions. Coach Price will always have his detractors due to any number of reasons but the bottom line is he cares about his players immensely, is strict to play for and he teaches them life lessons which they carry with them for many years that leads to success later in life.
