I think your post paints a pretty clear picture. My gut tells me it's like the," boy that cried wolf" scenario...? Hooker is the most dynamic wrestler McCallie has,,, and he's a joy to watch,,,,and I'm certain no one directly involved with him is making any excuses. Is the kid with diarrhea,,,,or a torn ligament any less sick or injured than someone with a respiratory infection..? It's tough on all the kids that have an injury or illness,,,on top of the stress. My old football coach (Bobby Newby) scored 4 touchdowns after receiving a concussion (he still doesn't remember any of it),,,,my buddy Jason walked 25 miles in sand with with 80 lbs of kit ,,,with a broken bone (metataral) in each foot and never said a word,,,,My point is Hooker is a warrior,,,lets give him the respect he deserves,,and he will return to fight another day. FYI: EBE does abuse the injury time,,,when it's clearly a stall/ recovery gimmick CC

I think you make a good point,,,,it's the "kettle and the pot" scenario. I think as hard as most parents try,,,it's a daunting task to keep your emotions bottled up all the time. Being calm like a duck above the water,,,yet paddling like heck below the water,,,, is what all wrestling parents have to deal with when their kids walks on the mat. Wrestling is cult like and dominated by a "warrior" mind set. Within reason,,,we must take the "s$$t with the sugar" CC

I wasn't there (CupCake Jr drama),,,but just from reading all the threads,,,this sounds like a subject that could get heated very fast,,,,,? I will sit this one out On a side note,,,,Hooker wasn't the only young man that wrestled sick or injured,,,and I respect all who walk out there less than 100% on the front end,,,, and give it all they have. Congrads to Father Ryan,,,,they tied last year and won it out-right this year. They have certainly earned this victory! Next year should be very exciting with several solid teams going for the Gold ( FR, CBHS, EBE, and Baylor),,,,is it November yet???? CC

CBHS will certainly have a solid shot,,,,but so will FR and EBE if things fall into place. It's been a tough year for Baylor with injuries and illnesses,,,,,I still think Baylor will pull it off because they've dealt with this stuff all year. Coles replacement should place? Actually,,, Hooker lost the Hooker vs Hayes match,,, where the shoe call was huge. I don't think this is a Doster issue or Baylor issue,,,,just a questionable shoe issue. Ask yourself this,,,how many times do you see a wrestlers shoe come off,,,,then look at the facts,,,,both matches against Baylor at 130 and 125,,,Hookers shoe came off just as he was about to be reversed??? That's just something for each person to decide,,,either way,,Hooker is the real deal and has the coolest hat! Fact: If Hooker wrestled at Baylor,,,,we'd get that boy some proper fitting shoes and or teach him to tie those shoes tight ,,,,and put an end to this cheating talk!
