Very sad day in the Father Ryan and Nashville Catholic Wrestling community. Tommy was a State Wrestling champ at Father Ryan as well as one of his sons. They are the first father/son to win a state wrestling championship in Tennessee. Tommy also started the Nashville Catholic Wrestling program and help to propel Father Ryan wrestling to its heights today. Tommy was loved by all who knew him. Prayers to the Bateman family.

I believe he will be attending the University of Illinois.

This will be a problem with the Tennessee teams as they will be involved in the Regions and State Tournament.

Cosgrove graduated and will be starting his college career in a few weeks.

A great hire for Clarksville. Tommy is one of the good guys in the coaching fraternity. I hope that his son will be able to wrestle for his dad at Clarksville. Tommy did a great job at Franklin and turned a Dickson County team that was down into one of the more better teams over the years.

Trey is still in the tournament and wrestling great. He lost 1 match but won the next 3 after winning his 1st match. Trey is still alive and looking good. Murphy looks great and is dominating. Keep it up. Tennessee is looking strong at 106 lbs.

Father Ryan and Wilson Central did not wrestle a real match last year, Wilson Central only wrestled in the Father Ryan tournament with a few misses, who were noticeably(?) missing. Another thing, you proved your no-knowledge of the sport on an earlier post about Patrick Dooley being a Simpson. Your post of match-ups was so bad, I fell out laughing until I lost my breath. Keep posting, you keep us amused. So, in closing, who is screwing up? Only you can answer this! If you are talking about Wilson Central wrestling Father Ryan in a pre-season dual tournament, you are correct, Father Ryan beat Wilson Central; however, they beat them with some back-ups in the line-ups, ie Christoper Wesnofske pinned a starter at Wilson Central; however, Wesnofske did not break the line-up at Father Ryan and he was winning big at the time. Wilson Central had back-ups as well. I wonder why? Father Ryan is that deep. Please tell us how Dooley is related to the Simpson family? We are all waiting for an answer since you could post here but not to a question directed to you on your own post. I heard that he was not feeling well during the Father Ryan Invitational. But you bring up some good points. Kramer wrestled on 1/3 against White House and pinned in 1:38 and Cookeville at :52. Did not wrestle much. Wrestled on 1/8 against Forrest and pinned in 1:48 and received a Forfeit from Lavergne. Did not wrestle against the 2 best 220 lb. wrestlers from MBA and BA. Makes you wonder; however, I would not want to put this on the kid. If he is not feeling well, he should not wrestle in the tournament, but, if he wants to wrestle against the best Tennessee has to offer, he wrestles in the tournament. If he can wrestle the day before and a couple of days after the tournament, he needs to step up.

How easily do you feel they will pass Ryan? This is the same talk Ryan heard just a few years ago about Blackman beating Ryan and being the new powerhouse in the Mid State. Did not work out to well for them. I do believe Coach Kramer has done an outstanding job at Wilson Central, I do not believe Ryan is ready to pass the torch. Also, not everybody was intimidated by Cleveland. Cleveland beat most teams in Tennessee but not all. Just ask Christian Brothers. Also, most teams that wrestled and lost to Cleveland did not get beat like Wilson Central did in the finals. You can not lump everybody together like that.

What about Luke Hamilton? He is 2-0 with 2 pins!

Is the Tennessee State Freestyle and Greco tournaments on May 11?

Will teams wrestle tough dual meets and tournaments like they do in Chattanooga? Or, will we see wrestlers with 50-2 records wrestle the tougher competition? Will they be working do get wrestler of the year or get their wrestler on the Middle Tennessee team?

Congratulations to Mark Marchetti for winning the 138 lb weight class at the NHSCA tournament this past weekened. He becomes the 3rd Tennessean to win the Senior division I believe. Colt Cotten is ranked 16th in the country by WIN Magazine. Mark Marchetti wrestled at Father Ryan as does Ben Stacey who placed 4th in the Freshmen division. Great job by all Tennessee wrestlers who competed and who placed in the AA round.

Congratulations to both Chris Debian and Ethan West for All-American status at the USAW Folkstyle Nationals. Good job by Austin Stevison for doing well at the FloNationals. Cleveland wrestling continues to excel.
