  1. Congrat's to BB. I am sure it was a great experience for those wrestlers and their fans. You are right about Coach Sutherland. He is great coaching the young wrestlers and all you have to do is look at all of the wrestlers that have come through his programs and how they have done in High School. He would be an excellent High School coach giving the opportunity. Did McCallie wrestle all of their studs? I keep reading about how they have all of these young wrestlers entering McCallie or are they in High School? Please advise. Coach Sutherland, congrat's.
  2. I think a lot of people care. That is why they are still talking about it. I guess you probably think that same thing about what is going on in Cleveland. Who cares?
  3. Something on his "apps"? That is strange. I heard something different. I hope it works out for him in the end.
  4. Just got through watching the Pred's win game 4 with parents who were asking these questions: 1.) Did all of the committee members attend the meetings with the men trying to get the CBHS job or not? 2.) If they attended, did they arrive on time or where they late or did they attend at all? 3.) Did committee members show up late, ask questions, and then leave? These are questions asked at the Nashville Pred's Game party that I attended tonight. I am not throwing stones, just asking questions as to how the National Search went. This is nothing more than a pebble. Talk at the party seemed to differ on how the different finalist were handled. I am curious what happened to the Texas coach? Please advise. Thanks.
  5. Are you really that sensitive? I did not throw a stone. As for the National Search question, I think it is valid when you end up hiring a coach from within the state. As for having a clue, I understand you were on the hiring committee and since you mentioned it, was the interview process for all involved the same? Did you and the committee attend all of the interviews for the entire time or did you or others come in late, leave early, or not attend at all? Quit patting yourself on the back and explain to us how you and the hiring committee handled the process as I don't believe all were given the same treatment. I also can't tell you how many in the wrestling community in Memphis have talked about what transpired with this search and how some were treated. I congratulate Coach Harrison on getting the job and wish him nothing but the best.
  6. National Search? Congratulations to Coach Harrison, but a national search and you select the coach at Seymour. I am sure he will do a great job at the Bro's but don't try to sell me this was a National Search.
  7. Sommers, Do you know something that we do not? I have not heard anything about this being political. Would you like to expand upon your statement?
  8. Coach Bosken resigned as Cleveland High School Wrestling Coach and teacher. Any information as to what is going on or where is he going? This is unexpected. http://clevelandbanner.com/stories/bosken-resigns-as-raiders-head-wrestling-coach,59374
  9. Congrats to all of the wrestlers that push it further at the National Prep. This is one of the premier wrestling tournaments in this country and Team Tennessee represented us well. Good job by all. Tennessee wrestling is making a name and proving that Tennessee wrestling is for real. Great job by all and keep up.
  10. Congrats to all of the wrestlers who chose to participate in this great tournament. They are showing that Tennessee wrestling is good and making a mark on the national level.
  11. Did not see Rippy getting beat, much less pinned. WOW.
  12. Sesnan over Dooley. I did not see that coming.
  13. Unable to make the tournament; however, it looks like Bradley is peaking at the right time and Cleveland peaked too early from the scores. Cleveland looked so good early in the season.
  14. Has this ever happened before? I can't believe a wrestler also competes in another sport at the same time as wrestling. What does his coach think about this and how does he do both? Interesting. Great article. P.S. I thought Mr. Patton wrote for the Tennessean.
  15. Boykin is going to UTC according to what I am hearing and wrestling with his brother. I hear that is a reason why the older Boykin red-shirted this year. He wanted to wrestler with his brother.
  16. Good post Coach Lewis. You have a fine Christian Brothers team and have had a fine team for quite some time. Your wrestlers looked good this weekend; however, ran up against a McCallie team that wrestled better. I was betting on your team; however, I still think they have a chance at the Individual Tournament. You have represented the West very well and one of Christian Brothers former wrestlers is building a great program at Arlington and following your lead. Good luck to both teams this weekend and next. West Tennessee wrestling is getting better every year and you do not need to take a back seat to anybody.
  17. The State Individual Wrestling Tournament for DII is going to be as close as the State Duals. Any of the 5 teams (MBA, Father Ryan, Baylor, McCallie, and Christian Brothers) can win this tournament. It is that close. Bonus points earned throughout the tournament could very well determine who wins this tournament. Looking forward to a great State Individual Wrestling Tournament. Hold your breath. My question is how will they divide the Regions when most all of DII schools from DI come over. It will be top heavy at the Middle and East Tennessee Region. Maybe some will have to move to the West Region because most of the schools will be Middle and East Tennessee. Hard to determine who will win until we see where everybody goes at the Regions and how they do at the Regions. Movement of wrestlers will occur from the State Dual and could change the make-up of who wins weight classes as well as the team title.
  18. Fake news here. McCallie is attending the Escape the Rock in Holland, PA. What WrestlingGod posted is not accurate. Need to re-set. If McCallie wrestlers come, it will be their back-ups or the Freshmen. Sorry to correct, I just felt it was needed. P.S. I saw on the internet, that President Obama was not born here. WOW!
  19. From the looks of the seeds, it appears the Father Ryan Tournament has stepped it up and it looks like a great tournament. Good luck to all of the wrestlers.
  20. Congrats to Pat Simpson from Father Ryan for winning this great award. You have done an incredible job with your program. Good luck in the future and Congratulations again.
  21. Congrat's to all who went to Flo and best of luck to those still fighting. Great job of representing Tennessee.
  22. Sorry to hear. Prayers to Billy and the Brimer family.
  23. Exactly what I expected here. My whole contention is that I have never heard of having wrestle-off's and not weighing in. Yes, Coach Kramer was one of the coaches for the team; however, it is not his team just like it is not my team. And yes, he can also make any rules he likes. That was not the discussion. Don't be so stupid on here and save us all some time. The team belongs to the wrestlers and the state of Tennessee as they were basically having a Dual Match which represented wrestle-off's. Yes, they even had weigh-ins. Why can you not talk about it intelligently instead of the old stupid saying, "if you don't like, make your own team". This gets old and has lost its luster.
  24. Exactly what I expected. Nobody said the wrestler cheated nor was on weight. Only asked why there was not a weigh-in for a wrestle-off. Not hard to decipher. In all my years of wrestling, I have never heard of a wrestle-off where the competitors did not have to weigh-in.
