  1. I agree. I'm not saying GP can't win - they are a very good team, and this should be a great matchup. I am just discussing the game, and based on this year, CPA's defense has done well against some teams as good as GP. Again, I am not going to predict a winner or score, but I will say GP won't score over 28. Unlike most of these games in the past, the key to CPA winning will be to run the ball, run clock and shorten the game.
  2. GP may win, but they won't score 35. Their offense isn't any better than Maplewood (21) or Pearl Cohn (10). GP has scored a lot of points the last 7 games of the year, but they have played no one who has as good a defense as CPA, or with the defensive coaching CPA has. GP has a good passing game, but if they throw 20 times +, CPA will get some picks.
  3. They are loud, but personally I like their enthusiasm amd the atmosphere it creates at the game. I'd guess more people like it than don't, expecially younger folks (which I'm not). I guess it just makes me glad that those kids have a passion that keep them doing something with purpose. I think it is really sad that the PC players have less than 100 family and students in the stands supporting them, other than the band.
  4. How about a team report: - Seniors? - Starters/Scoring back from last year? - Size?
  5. I agree. I think he could start as a freshman at Vandy with all the seniors they have this year.
  6. Never did hear the story on why PC didn't play at halftime at SC. I was on the SC side and everyone was talking about looking forward to hearing them play. They cranked it up in the 2nd half, and so did their team. It was almost like the team and band never showed up first half, then came out and decided to play in the 2nd half. Was there a misunderstanding with SC about the halftime time they were allotted?
  7. Clever, but where are the trademark Bible verses I have spit out? Read the Bible everyday and try to live by it, but can't remember ever quoting it on Facebook after hundreds of posts. But welcome to you and all AAU fans who don't like CPA and sit on the sidelines cheering and adding fuel to the fights.
  8. Thanks for the info. You are probably right - football talk is still more important for 3 teams.
  9. I am nervous about this one, not because I think GP is better, but we have been a little shaky offensively lately - nagging injuries, penalties, etc.. I think our defense will hold GP to below 28, but we need to make some big special team or offensive plays to outscore them. The series has been pretty even, but they have owned the playoffs against us.
  10. What's hilarious is that you come on here and comment on how funny it is that no one is talking about 10AA except CPA fans, and THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! Way to add something meaningful to the discussion, or maybe that's the problem - you don't have anything meaningful to say. I ask a legitimate question about 10AA. Who are the best returning players? Do you know, or do you just want to come on here and criticize other people's posts? And by the way, I like hearing from Coachrus. Some day you will get over losing Bradshaw. Don't like the thread? Go away!
  11. Classy to apologize, and you do have a right to post anything you want on CoachT. I have always enjoyed your posts. It just hits a nerve with me when people imply improprieties without proof based on hearsay. I guarantee you if I posted that I had heard something "from a source" about CC or Fairview or anyone else on a thread about them that questioned their fairness or honesty, you and Slim would have reacted badly as well. And hopefully a coach posting on CoachT would not comment on another coach. Let's move on and talk about the game.
  12. Best wishes to him. He did a good job in a difficult environment.
  13. Congrats to SC for a great season. I enjoyed the 8 games I attended. Congrats especially to the young men who sweat, worked, and bled football for the last 7 months to bring a lot of SC fans and families a lot of excitement and joy. These young men do not make the schedule or call the plays. They are human and they make great plays and mistakes just like everyone else. All they want to do is give their best and make family, friends, and fans proud of them. This group of Owls did that. Only one team out of 32 goes undefeated in the playoffs, but all should be proud of their efforts and themselves. I told one of them after the game Friday night: "We're proud of you, hold your head high, and remember the good times and successes, not this loss." My last post ever on a SC thread.
  14. I appreciate your "2 cents" and respect that, but this is the true point. Anything can be said on the internet and any accusations or implications can be made with no basis for fact and for various reasons - some legit and some not. Someone being accused (or implied accusations) on the internet from an anonymous poster with an anonymous source does not have the burden of having to answer or defend themselves. Also, those fans reading these things would be idiots to ask those anonymously accused because it would give legitimacy to the accusation. If you have facts, share them. Otherwise, keep it to yourself.
  15. Thanks for the explanation. I was assuming some of those points were against the subs. Now if we could just get them to start the subs. Still don't see GP scoring more than 28 at the most. CPA will probably have to have 28+ to win. I think they can do it.
  16. I have a legitimate question for GP fans. I know GP is a very good team, and has gotten better since the first CPA game (especially on offense); however, I am surprised at some of the scores during your season against average teams and especially how many points your defense gave up to them, like MC, Greenbrier, WH, and JPII for example. CPA's offense has struggled a bit lately due to injuries to key players, but based on how much some of those teams scored on you, I would think CPA will score a few. What say ye, GP fans?
  17. I remember watching Keenan take his lumps as a Frosh and thinking: "Wow, this kid is going to be something special before he graduates." Look forward to the game. CPA's strength is pass defense so this will be a great matchup.
  18. Yeh, there is certainly a lot of TALK on CoachT. So, to review we now have a Cheatham County fan (lost to CPA) being defended by a Fairview fan and a Lipscomb fan (lost to CPA) on a CPA/GP thread discussion. Welcome all of you to the thread. I think I will jump over to the Fairview thread and discuss what a source told me that they were doing that wasn't right. All I want to do, after all, is track down info, and get further proof.
  19. Yes, he should be able to ask it, and he did. And I should be able to question his implication that CPA is not playing fair when he implies the same with NO proof or naming his source. You do realize Howdoitknow's team was just beaten by CPA last Friday. It's possible he is not totally objective in his view of CPA. My moral net has more legitimacy than someone posting unfounded implications. My moral net says that if you don't have any proof of something other than an unnamed "source", then keep it to yourself, and don't question someone's integrity.
  20. That's exactly the point. You don't know anything and neither do I. So now not only you want an answer, but you are saying this is a "lingering question in the back of a lot of football fans minds". I find it hard to believe a lot of people have this lingering question in the back of their minds when it wasn't even an issue until you brought it up. I would like to know the answer myself. Maybe someone who has real information, not speculation, can give some facts.
  21. How do you define "flip out"? I simply stated that to bring up something you hear "from a source" is not enough to imply someone is not being a "gentleman". What a minute: I just got a call from a "source" that Coach Martin refused to give CPA a film. Can you confirm that for me?
  22. Welcome to the CPA/GP thread, and you have every right to post here; HOWEVER, since you are not a supporter of either team, UNLESS you have proof (not just a source)of this allegation, why would you just want to come on here and try to stir stuff up? If you have proof, share it with the rest of us. You usually make great posts with good insight. Let's just stick to discussing football.
  23. I was wondering who that kid was walking around with the other BB players at the FB games. It seems like Alsmiller has gained a couple of inches since last year as well, but Lindsey looks about the same size. They seem to have 3 players that are 6'5" or better.
  24. Ome more thing: Matthews had to be a pass oriented coach because of a lack of size in the line. This is the first year in many where CPA has had both size and athletes on the OL and DL. And most of them are back next year.
