  1. Waverly vs Bolivar game has been changed to 3:00 instead of 7:00 due to inclement weather moving in GO TIGERS!!!!!!
  2. So much for what you know. Waverly beats sycamore by around 20 pts and harpeth took care of cheatham almost as easy.
  3. I don't know what game you were watching. Or maybe you were watching through gold colored glasses. But this is one of the best officiated games I have seen all season. Fairvew just didn't get away with all the dirty fouls that they got away with on Friday night. they play dirty ball and it's that simple. the officials didn't call the nit picky fouls that are called alot of times and no they weren't perfect there were calls missed on both sides. That's always going to happen. I was totally impressed with the offciating. There was still alot of jersey pulling from fairview that didn't get called and alot of elbows that were thrown that didn't get called but we have had such POOR offciating all season and it was nice to have fair calling for once. Hats off to officals on this game you did a great job. Fairvew is only complaining because they didn't get away with everything like they usually do.
  4. The poorest refed game all season. Farivew had 51 freethrows to our 28. It was a joke and that's all that can be said about that game!
  5. Waverly and Fairview still on as scheduled as of now.
  6. As of right now Wavo and Fairview are still playing as scheduled
  7. okay I tried, I tried real hard not to comment on your first post about the refs being onesided to waverly. That really is a joke. SC players were pulling our boys jerseys and no fouls were being called. We won't even talk about the one at the end of the game when the jersey of Gilbert was pulled so hard he almost went to the ground and it wasn't called an intentional foul. Graham had 4 fouls called on him didn't even play probably 4 mins the entire game because of the poor calling. The 4 th foul that was called on him was so bad that it made it obvious they were only trying to get him out of the game. When you are sandwiched between two defenders one hits in the face and the other is pulling your jersey and he gets the foul called. hmmm....... We also won't talk about all the traveling calls that were not called on SC. I agree it was a poor called ballgame but to say it was called waverly's way is a joke. It was not a one sided calling and if it were onesided it was definitely SC way because of all the jersey pulling that NEVER got called except for the one on Gilbert that like I said was an intentional foul. We also won't talk about the elbow throwing that went into Voegl to try and get him fired up. I give him a big kudos for keeping his composure and staying in the game. And no we didn't press the entire game, yes we pressed alot but not the entire game. Credit is given to all the Tigers for keeping their composure and playing a well played game. Your statement that it didn't make a difference in the final win or loss to the game is correct, but Waverly has played some games that they lost early in the season that the officiating cost us the game without a doubt. I think it's sad that you can't get a fair called ballgame for both sides. These refs are there not to just call a ballgame but they are also setting an example to these players and it is a POOR example they are showing. The Tigers are finally showing what kind of team they really are. They had a slow start but they have come into the 2nd part of the schedule showing their talent and just how deep our bench really is. Graham was out basically the entire game with the foul trouble. Hale didn't play due to an ankle injury and he is one of our main relief players. Purcell is out with an injury another one of our main relieve guys. Coach Kevin can take out 3 and 4 starters at one time and the Tigers can still stay in the game and make progress. Keep a watch out for Matt Brassfield who the past 2 or 3 games has just been a BIG assett and has made some big plays when he is on the court. Keep up the good work Tigers your going to move up the ladder quick!
  8. Waverly beats SC 60-44 tonight. Waverly came out slow and let SC get about a 10 or 12 point lead but after about 3 mins waverly woke up and said oh we are suppose to be playing basketball and when they did it was all over they tied up quickly, went ahead and never looked back. Great game Tigers. Your showing what you are made of.
  9. Waverly beats Harpeth 48-44. Waverly came to play and they played well. Every team member contributed to the game. Caruethers was totally shut down in the middle and the outside. Harpeth led 3-2 at the beginning and never had the lead again. Way to go Tigers you proved yourself tonight!!!!!!!
  10. Harpeth can definitely beat them. I was not impressed with them at our game Saturday. If our boys had played their A game and had not had so many silly turnovers the game would have been a challenge for Bolivar. They are not what everybody has been building them up to be.
  11. I give Harpeth a chance. When we played Bolivar Saturday I was not impressed. The way everyone had talked about them they were unbeatable and no one would be able to keep up with them. Like I said i was not impressed. and if our boys had of been playing their A game and not turn the ball over so much we could have beat them. I say Harpeth has a great chance at beating them! I think it will be a close game but yes you can definitely come out with the win.
  12. Where do you think the athletic funds come from? It's not the school system. At least in Waverly it's not. Because that is an issue we argue with our school administration about constantly. The athletic funds come from the Booster club fundraisers and members dues. Maybe it's different where you come from and if your school system supports your athletic program like that you should be very proud because not all of us have that support.
  13. You need to know what your talking about. The Schools here at waverly DO NOT pay for buses to athletic , band or anything else that is related to extracuricular things. The Athletic booster club pays for the athletic events that have to have a bus and the Band booster clubs pays for the band to travel on the bus. We have to pay mileage and bus driver fees. I do know this because I was Band booster president. I am a member of the Athletic Booster so I do know where the funds here at Waverly come from. So you need to talk about things you know about not what you don't.
  14. As a matter of fact I do know how our athletic program is funded and it is not by the school it is by our athletic boosters which I am a memeber of. So yes the parents do go into their pocket to put fuel in the buses because of the membership dues and the fundraising that we do to make the money to pay for bus transportation. And no our teachers don't drive the busses. We have to pay mileage and driver for each bus that is taken. I don't know if you are a minority school or not that was a statement one of your supporters made. That's right "Everybody has to travel" I made that statement because the same person that stated you were a minority school was making the statement you had to travel to Lexington all the days last week. We had to travel to. So "Everybody has to travel." Quote: "When Waverly get 2 High Profile Players that plays in a BIG GAME, you will feel the same way." I don't have a clue what you are even talking about with this statement unless you have 2 guys from Bolivar playing in the Tn/Memphis game and if you do that's great. You still could have played both games on Friday night and been able to watch the game on Saturday.
  15. The parents will carpool. The problem is the money the schools will be out of having to take buses both nights when it could all be done in one. Like McNairy and Harpeth are doing. Maybe your school has plenty of money to throw out a window on bus fuel and bus drivers.(Which I actually doubt. I don't know of many athletic programs that have money like that.) Waverly does not get extra funding for having to drive busses and pay bus drivers for athletic trips. This comes from the athletic money that has been raised. It has NOTHING to do with Bolivar being a minority school either. So don't make this a racial issue. We traveled to cheatham county all the same nights that you guys had to travele. Which is another 120-140 miles round trip each night for us. So you haven't made any more trips than we have. Everybody has had to travel to some extent. It just would have been appreciated if the school would have been considerate enough to think of the money the SCHOOL is going to be out of by having to come both nights. THat's the issue. We aren't the ones who care about missing the Tennessee/Memphis game you are the one that ask for that change not us.
