  1. With 13.9 seconds CPA hits 2 free throws to go up by 4. Dyer County inbounds the ball pick it up near the half court line, dribble to the corner, passes, dribbles to the top of the key. At this point no time has expired since the free throws. The ref calls time out and then instead of correcting the error and going back to the CPA end of the court, the refs give DC the ball on their own end of the floor. At this point there should be about 5 seconds left in the game, but DC gets the ball with 13.9 seconds to go. DC scores a 3 with and the clock stops at 3.9 seconds. The DC coach argues that there should be 7 seconds left and the ref adds 3.1 seconds back to the clock. CPA inbounds the ball and is fouled. CPA hits the first free throw and misses the second with 4.6 seconds. DC dribbles down the court and launches a last second shot with a foot clearly well within the arc. The refs give them 3 and sprint off the court and DC wins.
  2. Well, I am disappointed that CPA and DC drew each other in the 1st round. I think they may be the best two of the eight. The winner is my favorite to win the championship. My wife and in-law are from Dyersburg and my kids go to CPA, and all are going to the game Wednesday night. It will be fun.
  3. I hope it is OK to post this article from The City Paper. If not someone let me know. CPA reaches state Lions achieve ultimate goal ??” a trip to the ??
  4. Good article in The City Paper and a full page picture of Z. Christ Presbyterian Academy??™s Zac Mason slams home two points in a sectional win that put the Lions in next week??™s state tournament in Murfreesboro. All season, CPA has left the bench by chanting ??
  5. I bet you'll have at least 7 AA coaches road tripping it to Memphis tomorrow for the game. Heh.
  6. Not sure of the final numbers but i would guess that Z had about 20+ and Miller had about 25+. Creekwood tried to shut down the inside game of CPA but Miller opened it up in the second quarter. The CPA defense was intense throughout the first half and may have played its best half of smothering defense this year.
  7. The Haywood/Mitchell game was postponed until Tuesday Austin East Fulton Livingston Academy Bolivar and I think Howard may have been the eighth.
  8. Thanks for the recap. I wish I could have been there. Were you surprised by the rebound stats? It looks like GC dominated the boards. Also were the CPA guards having an off night?
  9. I played against Coach Anderson in 1978 when he was at Bellevue High School. He was a class act then and I am sure he is still a class act today. If I remember correctly we split with Bellevue that year and joined them in the March of Dimes Tournament that was played during Christmas break at Vanderbilt. The three best teams from west Nashville usually played the three best teams from east Nashville. It was a great event. I wonder what ever happened to it? Anyway. Congrats to Coach Anderson!
  10. I heard via phone from someone at the game that it was CPA 51 - Giles County 48
  11. Please don't make me have to watch a STALL BALL rematch with CPA and Lipscomb...Boring!
  12. What a silly post. Let's please not get into whose students did what. I understand that you are upset that your team lost the game but let's not start this sillyness!
