  1. I agree, that offense has scored plenty this year.
  2. I don't see them making a comeback in the 2nd half. Oakland is a machine. I saw them early in the year and was impressed by how they played as a team.
  3. I am not an expert on coaching, but I do know a superior team can make even a very good team look average. Congrats to Oakland for a great team this year.
  4. I must have missed that 2nd TD. But, it may be coming soon. Or not. Good job WH.
  5. The Jackson Sun is reporting (as of the time of this post) that 16 games, in the Jackson area, have been moved from Friday to Thursday.
  6. With the potential for winter weather coming into the state on Friday, can we use this post (or a new one) to post game reschedules?
  7. What "things" do you think will move at Franklin now that it is the new year?

Is Warren County as good as their record?
  9. I yell at the officials as much as anyone. Probably more than I should. However, your response is the typical. If you are going to start a thread to rant on the officials, expect to ask more of yourself than to complain about others doing what you can't do. Get out there and show how it should be done. Refs, I will probably yell at you tonight but I do appreciate the position you are in.
  10. I must have missed the new developments. What are they?
  11. You are letting someone who speaks in 3rd person lead you.
  12. Christmas and cooler weather.
  13. Zoning impacts the talent pool and Franklin is down in overall talent this year. Maybe that turns around soon.
  14. Chief, you let them get to you. They are in your head. Celebrate your team.
  15. To be clear, those two coaches I referred to coached everyone like that. My position coach called me many unpleasant things during drills to push me further. If any us needed to understand how to form tackle, he would show us, as us being the receiver and him the tackler. He did not do it to be mean, to hurt, or to humiliate. Taken out of context, especially today, you would think he hated us. At the end of practice, he was there to tease us and also praise good efforts. I am not friends with Donnie and he would have no idea who I am. I just know him through the many parents and players that have experienced his coaching. I hate to see those "just wondering" do so by continuing to assert something has gone wrong rather just be interested. Again, passive aggressive. As an adult, you should know that with this many sets of parents, you are going to have unhappy kids and parents. Most of them will not be so passive aggressive but some will. It is just how our society is.
  16. The coach that best helped me take a step toward manhood was also the hardest, including calling us things that got our temper up (which was the point). I am thankful for a tough position coach (went on to win numerous state championships) and tough head coach. I hated and appreciated those two in the same day. I am not trying to be an old tough guy (because I am not) or "old school". I just know, through life and having raised two sons, that there are times to guide through compassion and times to guide through tough love. Typically, you join a football team not expecting Mr. Rogers as your coach. I have heard nothing from numerous players and parents I know that indicates that Donnie has done anything short of being a great coach of character. I am sorry if your son had a bad experience. I am not sure what your point is about players going to play college, but you are incorrect.
  17. Knowing several parents and players (current and former), I have heard none of that either sitting (just right of the reserved section) with parents every Friday night or otherwise. Some are frustrated, at times, with the play calling but not with any issues you purport. Donnie is one of the most respected coaches in the state. BTW, if the payer is concerned with cursing, he must not be in the locker room much and should not consider playing in college.
  18. Overall, I think the parents at Franklin are pretty well grounded. However, I agree with your comment and think that the issue at Franklin was more of a parent problem than anything else. It was a tough situation for the kids to be in. I hope they have great careers.
  19. DB has performed better than my expectations. Being at home gives them the nod this evening. Win or lose, this has been a better season than most would have thought. Tonight might be their last win of a good season.
  20. Sorry fella, when you stop using third person and a persona maybe we can talk genuinely. You have tried to backdoor and overstate an issue for a set of parents. This causes me to suspect your true intent. The passive aggressive is getting old. Let me know when you want to talk football.
  21. Well, when Johnny gets on here, he and I can talk about it. Obviously he has a problem with the current coach that he won't just come out and talk about.
  22. I am not sure that we (Johnny and I) are disagreeing. Brentwood needs turf due to the campus consolidation. Again, I think that the plan is for other Willco schools to have turf as well. I assume you don't know. As far as play calling, every coach has his basic philosophy of football. The good ones do adjust as player skill varies. I am not sure how much Franklin football you have watched. This year, Franklin just had the run game and not much of that. That may seem "old school" for you but it fit the Franklin talent this year.
  23. I have heard that all Willco schools will be getting turf. Does anyone know? As for Franklin, you have to run a system that your players can execute. Franklin skill was down this year.
