I've had the opportunity to see both teams play this season. From my perspective, this is a VERY tough matchup for Powell. Hillsboro is much more athletic and much faster than Powell. However, I didn't think Powell had a chance against Morristown West. I can't see Hillsboro being better than either M. West or Oak Ridge for that matter and Powell has defeated both of those squads. I pretty much agree with everything Metroman states. Nevertheless, I'll be there rooting for my ol' alma mater awfully hard in this one...GO PANTHERS!!!

Blackman jumped out to a 10-0 lead and WC never got closer than 8 points all night. Blackman's offensive execution was excellent in the 1st 4 minutes. WC, IMHO, looks like a tired team at this point. I believe the effort is there, but a lot of their shots were coming up short last night. This is indicative of a team with tired legs. It was my first trip to Sparta to see a game. I was VERY impressed with the fan turnout. My hat's off to those WC fans. They were out en masse last night. Blackman was just too much last night. Coach H had his team well prepared.

This was NEVER about the parents being upset over their daughter's playing time. I realize noone seems to want to believe that, but it's the truth nevertheless. Also, this was NEVER about the parents out to get the Coach. Some things were going within the program that were unrelated to the parents daughter that needed to stop. It's as simple as that.

The fact of the matter is the Coach is to blame for all this mess, not me. Please enlighten me on your "There will be special place for you" comment? What exactly do you mean? Ah...qapet. So good to hear from you. I see you continue to lash out at my daughter. Very nice of you. I'll be glad to address your glancing blows. My wife and I were uncomfortable with the overnight stay in Murfreesboro. However, once you get to know Maxwell, you don't want to disagree with her or your daughter will pay. As for my daughter being talented, every AAU coach she has played under doesn't share your ridiculous opinion of her abilities. CM thought enough of her abilities to place her on Varsity as a freshman at Indy. She lettered 2 years while at Indy. She played on a stress fracture her sophomore year in tremendous pain. She finally had to have a MAJOR procedure to have a cessimoid bone removed from her foot over the Summer. This procedure is a very painful one to come back from. Her surgeon warned us that the recovery period was 4 months at the least. Some patients may not make it back for a full year. Her foot had to be "opened up" in order to have the bone removed. She has a 2 inch scar that is still very nasty looking. This injury is just now beginning to heal up enough not to cause her too much pain when she runs. Back in December, the pain was still excruciating and was slowing her down significantly from where she normally is. This is why she had to quit the team. It had NOTHING to do with her talent or ability as you like to continually bring up. I've tried to stick to facts on this site. However, I'm now going to make an exception for you. You are without a doubt the worst excuse for a human being I've run across in my travels throughout the Southeastern United States. To continually take shots at a 17 year old kid in order to hurt me and my wife displays the kind of character one usually finds in the holding tank of the Rutherford County jail on any Friday night. You have NO idea of any of the details regarding this case. My daughter doesn't "whine" as you like to believe. And CM did not give her the option of staying on the team when it became obvious she couldn't go anymore. I never set out to have a coach fired as you like to believe. I believe it is important for everyone to play fair and to run clean programs. If it makes you feel better to believe I have the power to get anyone fired, then by all means keep believing that. However, the fact is I don't have that power nor would I ever exercise it. There were some things going on that needed to stop. To my knowledge, those things have stopped. It's too bad the school is now having to pay the price for the coach's lapse of good judgement. You claim I "stock" CM's house. The correst spelling is "stalk". You are obvious of product of the public school system and am obvioiuly not very well read. Ah...but I digress. The facts of the matter are my wife and I NEVER followed Maxwell anywhere. EVER!!! The police detective closed that case the day after Maxwell filed those charges. My wife and I were found to have done NOTHING wrong!!! Period!!! The fact that Maxwell would file such a bogus charge is just another indication of someone making poor decisions. Many times she lets her anger get the best of her. Now in closing, if you would like to come over and introduce yourself to me, I would be glad to discuss this with you face to face. You obviously know who I am. Stop hiding behind your screen name!

You are absolutely correct! Do you really believe the 2 Independence players Maxwell brought with her are on the up and up? One of them was believed to be living with CM. However, evidently the TSSAA looked over this little tid bit of information. Also, the 2 Indy transfers spent the night at the Sleep Inn hotel here in Murfreesboro with Coach Maxwell BEFORE they were enrolled to attend Riverdale. This is in violation of the codicile which states that the head coach shall not have any contact with said transfers before they are enrolled in their new school. CM has also been seen taking one of the Indy transfers to many if not all of the MTSU lady raider basketball home games. This violates Rutherford County School policies. When a teacher drives a student ANYWHERE, this presents a huge liability issue for the Rutherford County School system. Any time a coach shows such blatant favoratism to one "special" player, it can't help but begin a rift between existing team members. This type of behavior is indicative of poor decision making on behalf of the coach. Wouldn't you agree?

I have reported only facts. Whether you respect me or not, matters not to me. I did attend the game and Riverdale won by dominating the boards (especially on the offensive end). Haislip got into early foul trouble and was not a factor in the game. Natalie Lanning really stepped up with 19 pionts. Nat, in my opinion, is the top guard on this team. When she becomes fully healthy, the sky's the limit for her! I have tons of other facts regarding this situation. However, I'll keep them to myself if you and others will lay off my family! Capice?

I would think a Science Club outing would be sanctioned by the High School itself. I'm sure this was not the case with the Independence transfers. Apples and oranges my friend. Now I do agree with you on one point; let's move on to bigger and better things!

Barbee and Jernigan won this game for Riverdale. Jernigan hit 6 3-pointers to account for all of her 18 points. Barbee also knocked down 3 3-pointers (20 points total). Upperman jumped out to a 15 - 3 lead and looked like the route might be on; but Riverdale never panicked and methodically chipped their way back into the game. There were several lead changes late in the 2nd qtr before Upperman made a late run to take a 38-31 lead into the half. From my perspective, Upperman seemed to be in control throughout the 3rd qtr, but when it ended, there was Riverdale only down 6 points. Upperman then totally collapsed in the 4th qtr. Riverdale pretty much mopped the floor with them for the entire final period. Haislip only had 2 pts before making a few late free throws, so Riverdale showed me they can still win when she is being shut down. Also, Riverdale really milked the clock the final 2 minutes. I can't remember a turnover during that span. Very good execution!

Riverdale plays Jackson County @ Jackson County at 7pm on Thursday. Should they win, they play at 7pm @ Jackson County on Friday. If they lose the Thursday game, then they will play at 4pm @ Jackson County on Friday. Should they win the loser's bracket game on Friday, they will play at 1pm on Saturday. Location is TBA.

Oakland was outmatched last night. The Lady Warriors smothered them with great defense all night. Barbee had 17 points. Henry had her best game yet IMO. Lady Warriors forced 10 turnovers in the first period alone to take early command of the game. It was never in doubt after that. However, I was quite disappointed Coach Maxwell went back to her full court press late in the 3rd qtr with 4 of her starters in the game and a 63-22 lead. That was uncalled for... I tip my hat to the Oakland ladies. While they were clearly overwhelmed, they fought hard the entire night!
