Neil The point I was trying to make is do you keep a upperclass man over a better Fr. I seen Maryville play last year didnt see Becca play.May have my yrs mixed up but did Niki play alot as a Fr.probly best 3rd baseman around..Do you not play them just because they are a Fr. I have seen 12u and 14u teams that could beat alot of H.S. teams..Far as good programs Maryville has had one good year not a powerhouse yet..But program has good future..

Maybe Alcoa will do like they did in Baseball and Basketball get someone to coach them that doesnt teach.Baseball-Ramsey, Basketball-M.Marsh. Not saying that geting Ramsy and Marsh is bad.

No I dont have any kids that go or have ever went to Maryville.Just kinda keep up with softball. I know that Maryville has some really good Fr along with William Blount.William Blount kept some upper class over Fr,that the Fr were better,Have always herd Maryville will not let Fr play varisty.William Blount kept 2 Fr,Heritage kept 0 Fr. Alcoa kept 6 or 7 Fr.Just wondering how many Maryville will keep.

When will AHS announce thier Head football coach? Maybe they already have and I missed it..Thought they were going to announce 3-1.

Have not seen anything about Maryville on here. How are they going to be this year? Who is going to start--and where? I have heard they have some very good Freshman that didnt make varsity...Why?

Champ maybe you ought to apply for the job at Alcoa.

Just because Webb wasnt a head coach dont mean a hill of beans he could have been head coach if he had wanted a head coaching job.First of all head coachs dont win without good assisant coachs.Head coachs get to much credit when they win and to much blame when they lose. I know that middle school and high school are different levels.But good high school programs have good middle school programs and coachs, just look across town at Maryville, Alcoa has a good middle program and coachs also. You should have told some of the Fr. at Alcoa that it is a different level in H.S.,before they got on Coacht and told everyone how good they are and how good Alcoa is going to be.

Alc5 have you ever thougt that the reason Webb offense didnt put up 70 points is called sportmanship.Webb could have been head coach at Alcoa if he had wanted the job..I am not saying Meadows is not a good coach Im saying at this point he is not even close to Webb, Fugate, Cochran, Bailey or even some of the past middle school coachs as in Berry or White. If coach Webb coach 85 yrs Alcoa would have been very lucky. Alc5 do you even know any history of Alcoa football? One piece of history was when Webb coached their the teams played with "CLASS".something i didnt see when Meadows was their.

How is Gibbs going to be this year? I know they was young last year.Who besides Beth will pitch for Gibbs.I reckon you all will have a long drive to Memphis.

Scott Meadows cound not even carry Dan Webbs jock strap..Coach Webb is the best coach period. Webb stayed at Alcoa thru good and bad times. Meadows left when the team was going to be young and not to good.Meadows has been seen at ALCOA dont know if it is about the coaching job or not. I know that some JC people would like to see Meadows gone.

William Blount has their team from last year returning,plus alot of good freshman coming in this year..watch out MURVILLE

Have heard Alcoa has no teaching positions open this upcoming year. Punky is retiring but has enough sick leave for all of next school year. Have heard that the head coaching job probly will have to come from with in house for one year.

Blount county has had middle school programs for a couple years. Heritage Middle William Blount Middle Eagleton Middle Carpters Middle also i think Kingston,Midway had middle school programs that all of the Blount County Schools played. Maryville dont have one or Alcoa....

Steve Fugate in 1979 as Head coach at Alcoa.. He was an assistant at Alcoa in 1977,1978 when Alcoa won State titles.Think Alcoa was first school to win 3 state titles in a row...NOT SURE

How could a team be great and come in second in their claasifacation.See alot people on here satisfied with not being best and coming in second and happy to be in the payoffs with losing record.

Who do you coach? If you think Central is cheating get the Knoxville News Sent. involved i am sure it would make for great article in paper.
