  1. 41-0 at one point. MJ Starters against the 3’s... Would like to see Hville vs Beech at this point of the season.. Maybe we wouldn’t see a dropped punt scoop-and-score this time around. Oh well. 6A and 5A region titles stay in Hendersonville. Even in the good old Gallatin comeback year.
  2. Hendersonville up 35-0 with running clock in the 4th. Gallatin was hanging there in the trenches at times better up-front, but gave up the home runs. Backbreaker after Hville went up 21-0 and kicked an onside kick after the TD, recovered and scored to go up 28-0. Think Beasley smelled blood in the water as a former player from late-90’s - early 2000’s back when Beech was a non-factor, Station Camp didn’t exist, and Gallatin was THE rival. Nice stamp to close out senior night for the first year head coach.
  3. A little too early for real judgements, but I’ve been following Commando football for a long time now and I don’t remember a time when a game against Beech wasn’t competitive. Is this indicative of the Beasley era? There’s been a lot of great Commando teams over the years that haven’t been able to put that kind of performance against a rival in and I have to think the change of guard is playing a part. What a way for James to come out and make his stamp on the program against a solid Beech team.
  4. Got to the big game 20% of the time in the highest classes. Pretty incredible. Next man up will have big shoes to fill.
  5. Announced today that long-time Commando’s coach will resign. Will still be active within the school and teaching, I believe, but will no longer coach. Great man of the community and great model of consistency, with trips to the State Championship games in 1998, 2001, 2010, and 2013 ... 3 of 4 of which were in the State’s highest classification at the time. Always has been able to put out one of the top teams in the region and midstate. For the Commando faithful - hoping for the best for the transition. This could go like UT, post-Fulmer or UGA post-Mark Richt. The comparisons to the latter are there. Will be odd possibly seeing the black and gold possibly lining up in something other than the Wing-T.
  6. When you lose by a combined score of 98-28 the past 2 years, then you have more than just a coaching issue. I'm not saying Hville has a "monstrous" amount more talent then Gallatin, but there's definitely a gap. And pointing to freshman results can be tricky. Especially when Gallatin's new freshman coach is last year's Hawkins middle coach... The same Hawkins program who's been the main pipeline for Hville freshmen who went over 2 years without losing a game. I wouldn't be happy with your staff either, but I don't think he has as much to work with as some of you would like to think.
  7. If Hendersonville and Indy meet again, it'll be tougher now than when Hville came out and beat a Vic Wharton led Indy team a couple years ago. Hville has figured out how to stop teams who rely too much on 1 player in the playoffs... Vic Wharton and Indy in 2013, Josh Malone 2013 playoffs, Jalen Hurd 2011 playoffs.... But this Indy team is more balanced than any of those teams. Would be an awesome rematch if it happens, though.
  8. People need to stop sunshine pumping Gallatin like they have this wealth of talent that somehow goes unharnessed... It's not true. The population growth and talent in this county has grown, while Gallatin's talent has regressed as a result. Your coaches aren't world beaters, but Gallatin's struggles are bigger than that. Good luck to the rest of the Region teams in the playoffs.
  9. Joejuan Williams, the #1 player in the state according to Rivals is gonna be playing for Hendersonville now? Bio says Father Ryan, but now says Hendersonville, can someone confirm this?
  10. Not saying Centennial couldn't be the one to do it, but everybody says they're gonna "Stack the box and shut Hendersonville down" and most never end up being able to do that. T
  11. Lol. Maybe we have our own Buddy Garrity from Friday Night Lights in Hville.. The old scene of the infamous mailbox on a lot with no house on it. Haha
  12. I think with some 6A title contenders moving to 5A, we could see more championships come from this district.. As an Hville guy I really like this better, as we have unprecedented success in getting to the big game, but has always been in the highest classification against a powerhouse. 1998, 2001, 2013 in the highest classification against Riverdale, Oakland, and Maryville we were just outmatched... and in 2010 in 5A against an emotional Columbia team who lost a teammate the morning of the State game, and then Semi Final in 2011. Now 10-1 as a number 2 seed, alive in the 6A bracket again in 2014. Thats 4 Championship appearances in 15 years for Hville.. 3 being in the highest classification. That gives you almost a 30% chance of seeing Hville in the state title game on any given year, regardless of class. Taking off the gold tinted glasses now, I think that bodes well for all of us 9AAA guys being in the 2nd highest classification. Hville's chances will increase, Beech, Gallatin, ect.. Heck, I actually would've loved if this happened last year and we would've avoided playing Maryville in the championship. We would've been talking about Hville defending their crown right about now... oh well.
  13. Since we're talking about districts/Regions or whatever. My dream one would be.. Hendersonville Beech Gallatin MJ Station Camp Whitehouse Springfield And one of Wilson Central, Portland JPII or Goodpasture
  14. I know there's a few Gallatin guys on here but I have no idea why or where this Gallatin love is coming from.. Gallatin has never even won 9-AAA under the current structure I don't believe and don't see them surpassing the likes of Hendersonville or Beech anytime soon.. So talking about 12 win seasons is a massive stretch. You hear it every year... But I would bet on Hville, Beech, or MJ finishing ahead of Gallatin in most years, and I don't think next year is any different...
  15. Rematch of the Quarters last year which Hendersonville won in a tight one. Great first round match-up.
  16. Don't like the Independence draw. They scored 42 points on Blackman and lost by a point, and absolutely destroyed Beech. Only losses against very good teams. Being at home against a very good underdog is always risky. Beating this team last year with Vic Wharton in the quarters was more of a feat, but they're still dangerous.
  17. On another note, after last night, HHS outscored the city of Gallatin this year 100-14... Gotta feel good for those boys. Good to see Gallatin got it turned around tho there and finish with a strong record. Interesting to see if they make moves in 5A Playoffs..
  18. Predictions for this week, guys? Before the delirious minded Station Camp folk get on here... I fully expect Hendersonville get back to usual ways and beat the camp (once again) for the 7th time in 7 years. Beech game this week was close and Hville almost beat themselves, but I don't expect this one to be.. Question is, what will the pompous (for no reason) Station Camp fans think when their team goes back to their usual place as the 4th best of the Sumner 4? You've really separated yourselves from Hville/Gallatin/Beech... and not in a good way.
  19. Rooting for the Green Wave as always against SC..
  20. Doubt they give the district MVP to a player on a sub-par team like Station Camp. Just being honest, the MVP trophy will probably go to a player on a team competing for the district title....
  21. I feel bad for SC as you are the lone representation of them on this board. Unfortunately, they have someone who can't contribute to coversation... Or, ya know.... Speak actual English.
  22. Up 30-0 before the 1st quarter was even over. Hunters Lane is bad. Bet Hville's 1st string is probably tired of having to sit for half the game for the 2nd week in a row.
  23. So would this give teams like Hendersonville, and Station Camp now a better chance to win state? This year, like last year, Hville could be great team but would be highly unlikely to get past a Maryville, Oakland, or Blackman.
  24. Looks like they didn't teach you punctuation and the difference between there, their, and they're at Mt. Juliet did they, bud? That was the worst run on sentence I've ever read. And btw... Hville is much more likely to blow MJ out (again) this year again than they are to finish 5th in the district.
