  1. I think the rules set for the spring fling should really be addressed. Very simple solutions, really. Ease up on parking away from the stadium. Raise age rules for charging. All players get in free. I didnt know this was happening. This might top my most idiotic rule list. Let the football teams get 40 players in and charge the rest. Sounds stupid, but that is evidently what is happening in baseball. A kid plays all year and then has to pay to sit on his bench. Mr. Carter, and the board, are you reading any of these valid complaints?
  2. All of everyones opinions are valid. But lets face the facts. Have common sense in whom you charge and what age you begin. There should always be free parking, if a person wants to walk. This is common sense reasoning and no one person should be able to dictate these rules. We need to petition the state and get some political input to these idiotic procedures. In football you are getting persons from all over who just love the spprt and like good highschool football regardless if they have a kid playing or not. In baseball, you are draining the same families and friends over and over. That is one big difference.
  3. Let me explain. Hatfield pitched Wed. Yesterday was a day of rest. One day. So if he throws tonight, it would be on one days rest! You are all welcome for my knowledge. I actually just learned this this week.
  4. Hatfield has only one days rest.. How can you talk baseball and not know tthat. He wont pitch unless it ;might be to get one out. Probably not then. If a player shot me down after striking me out, the next time up my bat would probably slip out of my hands. Happens sometimes. But they are just kids, right
  5. Clark wont throw Hatfield.....it would only be one days rest. This game is not worth the bright future of a young man. I do know that back a few years ago, we actually looked forward to playing against guys that behaved the way some have said this freshman did. You are right Clark wouldnt allow this, but neither should the senior leadership on the team!!!
  6. I have to agree with you. I am for Bartlett all the way, but I am under the impression the teams were drawn randomly. I hope this is how it is done. Does anyone know.
  7. Good answer.........Let the kids in, they will spend alot more on candy and food....Ronnie Carter certainly should understand this. If not....I would rather not say
  8. I can tell you from first hand experience..........Farraguts coach pulled the Del Monico kid up in Memphis a few years ago when Houston was ripping him in the state tournament. When the coach pulled him, the kid turned and just walked to ss. The coach was trying to talk to him and he would not turn around. Personally, I would have put him on the bench immediately, but I just watch, not coach. It happened though
  9. I am just the kind of person that does not just throw my money away......If i wnat to walk and not pay to park, that is my business. If you have a sold out facility then I can see charging anyone who might use a seat, but charging a breast feeding baby is rediculous. I havent seen a sold out game ever. Doing these absurd practices is the reason fans bring their own refreshments instead of purchasing them from the field. Keep everything within reason so more people can afford to come and you would probably draw more people whom would pay more to park and spend more for concessions. Does you understand this reasoning?
  10. everone is not watching their son plsy.......they are watching friends and friends of friends. I complained last year about charginjg 2 and 3 yrs olds 7.00 to get in and play behind the bleachers. The cost of a hamburger and coke at MTSU was 8.00. I parked in a neighborhood and walked to the field so I didnt pay. paying to park is for convenience. I will do that when the time comes and I cant walk.
  11. cant get the game on my computer..........got any ideas why
  12. He probably dislikes Oakland because you didnt think it was any advantage for them to have home field advantage. You should have asked the tssaa to let you bat last also and it might would have helped. I know there has to be a better way of setting the field so this doesnt happen.
  13. I thought it was a joke, but it must have happened! I thought the umpires were in total control after the start of the game.
  14. Did the rain issue really happen this year @Oakland. Gant was the young man I saw beat Bartlett and I would hate to think that story reallly happened. if it did, their chances of winning the state will more than likely depend on the weather I guess.
  15. I just love how it has worked out. Oakland at home and Farragut against the weaker of the teams. I hope Arlington can surprise some people.........I am pulling for them. They are well coached and have played a pretty tough schedule
  16. Also, good luck to USJ.........I saw Gant throw against Bartlett at Bartlett and he is very, very good.........Has a good team behind him too..........Do it West Tenn.
  17. I didnt say Farragut was bound to lose..........I said they are not unbeatable, since they lost 3 times.....You should try to comprehend what you read!
  18. Best coach, best pitching........hands down.........Why are we even playing this? You are probably scaring everyone, so I wish you would be careful. You probably didnt understand any of the first replies about the brackets and Oakland getting to play at home. You might see it different if you were in the other bracket. I am not arguing about how good you are, just about how things have been laid out
  19. They might do just that, but hopefully they will have to throw some pitchers to get to the winners game. Do you understand that. dont act like you are unbeatable because obviously with 3 losses , youre not...........
  20. Something else for everyone to look at.........In Farraguts bracket, all records combined puts them 18 games above .500 and Farragut only lost 3.......In the other bracket, every team had at least 20 wins apiece above .500. Is this the luck of the draw? I hardly think so. So Farragut gets the easiest bracket and Oakland gets home field advantage. If Bartlett or Arlington pulls this off, It will absolutely heart breaking to everyone east of Jackson. Anyone who thinks we are crying in West Tenn. You are right. I am crying foul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
  21. We are not talking about appeasing a few people....we are talking about the last games some or most of these kids will ever play. Switch the brackets. When whomever it was came to west tennessee, they didnt play on a sxhools home field, they played at USA stadium fields. If you dont think home field is an advantage, look at the NBA playoffs just this year. If you know anything at all, which you obviously dont, you would know it is not fair. This is the state championships....Lets get it on an even playing field. And you can take the 5.00 hamburgers and 3.00 dollar cokes at MTSU with you
  22. Oh I would imagine everyone is beatable....they are just kids, but I am glad to hear Bartlett is playing good.......To the fellow who said he would pay to see Bartlett and Farragut......If you are breathing you will........just ask the gate keepers..........from birth to death is what they told me last year
  23. I was wondering........I thought I read they were probably the best team in west tennessee so far......I saw where Gant of usj beat them, but I heard he was outstanding
