  5. FYI, school superintendents are not elected in Tennessee, and Warren County is one of the lowest paying teaching jobs in middle Tennessee for a 6A school.
  6. Who can stop Maryville? Oakland? Anyone out west?
  7. 49 Teams in 6A....49/7=7 Link: http://tssaa.org/school-classifications-by-sport-2017-2021/#di-football
  8. Why wouldn't there be 7 regions with 7 teams? And why wouldn't Rutherford County have an inclusive 7-team region?
  9. GWAVE1, go back and look at your posts. I copied and pasted this from your post: Just like Lebanon, it can be done with the right people and mindset.
  10. Guess I misinterpreted this statement: Just like Lebanon, it can be done with the right people and mindset.
  11. GWAVE1, we simply disagree on a number of things. Warren County is moving in the right direction, and it is amazing how you or anyone can analyze the program in present tense without even knowing who the head coach is. And if all your information comes from reading posts on Coach T, you are dealing with a lot of misinformation. By the way, you mentioned Lebanon as someone who is doing it the right way. I simply followed up by stating Warren County beat them. I wish Coach Williams and the entire Gallatin community the best. P.S. There is nothing that you mentioned that Warren County is not doing regarding the football program.
  12. GWAVE1: 1 Will assume that you are correct on the Warren County enrollment. I was stating the number on the website of the school, and the enrollment has never been over 2,000 in my memory. 2 You know better than to use Trousdale as an example. Is Trousdale playing against Henry County or Clarksville? Trousdale plays other rural schools. Rural to rural. Are you following the logic? Henry County is not playing in a region with teams like Smyrna, Oakland, Riverdale, Blackman, and Siegel. It is like playing in the Big 10 or SEC against those schools. You get pounded and worn down in that dynamic. Most football followers understand the difference. Ask any Big 10 or SEC Coach what happens during the season, or anyone playing the Rutherford County teams during the season. 3 Five years ago against Oakland....now you are making me laugh! Ask Lincoln County why they do not play Oakland anymore. Or ask Coach Williams why he is not trying to schedule Oakland now. Hahaha! Good one! 1-1. Ever hear anyone say Gallatin has been under-performing the last couple of decades? You are starting to sound like you are on the Board of Control with the TSSAA citing the enrollment numbers for a reason to not play the Murfreesboro teams. Who made enrollment the absolute factor in determining classifications? 4 It has a been a long time since Warren County beat a Murfreesboro team or had a winning season. You do not have to be a Rhodes Scholar to know the history. Make what changes? You have offered no solutions. You have ignored reality. You hang onto the enrollment numbers as tightly as the TSSAA hangs onto the playoff spilts. Why? And Warren County beat the example you cited as having done it the right way. Warren County beat Lebanon this year, 31-7. Since that game, Warren County has lost two key players to injuries -- playing against Rutherford County teams. And anyone who follows Tennessee High School football knows that Warren County has an excellent head coach. And if you are determining what is going on at Warren County Football by reading lunatic posts on Coach T, I have overestimated your judgement. G
  13. I did not intend to attack you personally, but there is a lack of perspective and facts in your comments. There are 1,751 students at Warren County, not 2,000+. If you are following the guidelines in the TSSAA classification, size does matter. No one is saying that rural schools cannot compete, but to cite Trousdale is not logical. Trousdale is predominantly playing small rural schools. If an observer of high school athletics does not recognize and comprehend the difference between rural an city populations in Tennessee, then there is no reason to be in a discussion with that person. If Warren County had an influx of Nashville residents moving to McMinnville, the population would would have changed dramatically. McMinnville/Warren County has not changed, yet Murfreesboro has changed dramatically. Murfreesboro was once a predominantly rural town. Why doesn't Gallatin play the Murfreesboro teams? Why doesn't MTSU play in the SEC? Isn't the population of MTSU's student body larger than UT-Knoxville? Unless more people move to McMinnville, it will remain a rural town. Any Tennessee high school football follower understands that there is a different between the Lincoln, Franklin, Coffee, Warren, and Putnam county schools -- when compared to Rutherford County schools. Warren County consolidated high schools decades ago for a variety of reasons. Warren County has lined up and played this year and last year against some of the best 6A teams in the state, including Maryville. Who is Gallatin playing? Why is someone from Gallatin telling Warren County what to do?
  14. GWAVE1, should Vandy change Vandy? Or should Vandy leave the SEC? Before you answer, remember what year this is and the fact that Vandy chooses to play in the SEC. The TSSAA dictates which region Warren County must play in; Warren County cannot choose to play in a region with bordering counties like Franklin County, Lincoln County, and White County. 30+ years ago, when Warren County was a Top 10 team and playing Murfreesboro teams, there were not several schools in Murfreesboro. The population has changed dramatically in Murfreesboro. The population has not changed dramatically in Warren County. Maybe you should be talking to the industrial recruiters and the Chamber of Commerce in Warren County? Maybe you can tell them that they need to change and grow like Murfreesboro has. We would love to hear your ideas on how to do increase our population to 100,000, and if you are Paul Brown or Bill Belichick, please come show us how to play football.
  15. Lost Old Dad, look it up:http://tssaa.org/ It hasn't changed in years....
  16. RebelRon speaks with years, decades of watching Maryville football evolve. Anyone trying to predict scores based upon previous scores that involve Maryville are in for a shock. However, I will say this, Siegel had Maryville on the ropes a couple of years ago with an injured QB who could not run for the Stars. I don't see a team this year that can hang with Maryville, but the games are played for a reason. I do not believe Maryville game-planned intensively for Warren County, certainly not the WC team that played on Thursday night. The Murfreesboro teams are well aware of how formidable Maryville is. I do believe the semifinal will be close. How many teams will give Maryville their best game of the season?
  17. It is interesting how many people outside of Warren County and Maryville wanted to comment on this thread. Giving the insanity of the playoff system and seeding, the comments are somewhat expected. However, what really matters is what transpired on the field. The coaches and players know a game was played, and both teams probably have mutual respect for each other. Although it may have been an off week in some respects for Maryville, Warren County played its best game of the season. No question that Maryville is the best team they played. All that matters now is that each team moves forward in respective ways. Warren County is a better team for having played the tough teams they faced all season. The players and coaches of Warren County deserve a pat on the back, some recognition for playing hard in their last game. Warren County may have had another losing season, but they took several steps forward as a team.
  18. Whatever was designed in theory by the TSSAA is now being played out in reality, and we all see the complete and total failure of the Power 32 Playoffs. Having said that, I have great anticipation for this game. As someone posted earlier, Warren County will get to see what is probably best team in the state this year face-to-face. This can be a positive for Warren County football. It could be argued that Warren County will have played against the best competition in the state when this season is over. To-date, there have been minor injuries. Warren County is still standing and coming to Maryville to play football. Warren County will have an interesting offseason; probably their most interesting offseason in 40 years. If people in Warren County can look at the silver lining of this season and stop trying to be the number one negative poster on Coach T, Warren County can take positive steps forward. All the negative, misinformation posted on here can go in the crapper. Maryville can be the most important game Warren County has played in decades. Strap it up and play the game. Everyone who is not putting on a uniform can sit in the stands and eat their popcorn. The guys in the uniforms have more courage, dedication, and self-control than most people watching the game and certainly more than most people posting on here. Maryville, bring your A-game and let's play football!!!
  19. Warrencountystud how can anyone provide evidence on this board? Yes, I am bashing your inaccurate post because I know that what you posted isn't true. That is my evidence -- my perspective. Thank you for taking the time to BASH the coach and administration with your brilliant insights. Maybe you should go help the Titans this week or go over to Knoxville and evaluate Butch Jones for the University of Tennessee. Can you help out the rest of the state?
  20. Warrencountystud may have made one of the most ill-informed and false posts in the history of Coach T, and that is saying something.....
  21. Tom Moore is an excellent coach and man. Warren County hit a homerun with this hire. Warren County has an excellent football coach!
  22. The story was mentioned on the Dan Patrick Show this morning. Unfortunately, there are so many of these type of bad high school football stories that it is more amusement than outrage for the national media.
  23. This post should be entered as Exhibit A in the case, "Why Parents Are Not Coaches." Or this post could be used as evidence in the case, "How Parents Drive Coaches Crazy."
