KCHS needs to avoid the East Tennessee couching carousel and hire a young coach who will be willing to stay there and fix the program, not just come in for a 3 year run and then leave. What about the kid who went to KCHS who now coaches in Louisiana, was like an LSU GA? Having someone with ties to the program would help.

SweetScience claims that FHS has SEC caliber OL??? Just because somebody's daddy claims that his son has offers doesn't mean that it's true. Let's do the math, its the start of the Senior season for 3-4 of the FHS OL, not one of them has scholarship offers from any institution, let alone the SEC. Any player with SEC caliber ability has offers starting in their Junior year, not after their Senior season. The FHS OL is certainly big but they don't have a single player who has any future collegiate potential.

Heard they lost some coaches and have some tough scrimmages this fall. Maryville will be their only obvious potential loss. Catholic is a joke and Bearden doesn't have the horses. FHS may surprise people.

Might as well drop it for this fall. Its mid march and still no coach so time is running out for improvement. maybe the AD has a dynamite candidate he's just waiting to announce.

Fact is West lost all those games you mentioned and has underachieved for the better part of a decade but i guess let's hand out trophies for "almost wins" and "great efforts". Wish my team had the coveted "Maryville respects us more than anyone" award. Don't kid yourself, nobody cares about West, nobody is jealous of West's toughness or resolve, nobody is afraid of West. only in your limited community are they considered a program.

The Tait kid failed out of KCHS in Dec and has been enrolled at Farragut. He's not going to sign anywhere to play bc he has no grades. What a waste of time

His parents are sick supposedly. An assistant from Farragut was helping out up there as well, i don't know if he's a candidate for the head position but the kids really liked him. Might as well bring somebody from a winning program up there.

west is and will always be underachievers and a waste of the talent that goes through that program as long as SC remains there. Don't adapt or evolve to your players talents, just run the same split back veer and 3-4/3-5 that you don't have the personnel or ability to run or scheme with. Running off coaches and replacing them with more hacks isnt the way to advance the program. teams arent scared of playing west, its great practice for their punt return team.

Waaaaaaaaaah.....Waaaaaaaaahhh. Catholic crying cuz they have to play larger schools and can't win. Interesting how before the season the Irish kept running their mouths about how they can play with any size program and were happy that now they can show their talent off against the "big boys". SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW DOWN!!!! Now yes it is true that in the past 3-4 years KCHS has indeed produced the most D-1 kids in the city of Knoxville. HOWEVER, in the previous 74 years of existence they have produced only about 5, so le'ts not tout KCHS history as one of having Division 1 talent always. Let's put on our history caps and remember they were a 1A team for decades struggling to be .500 and going only a few rounds deep into the playoffs if even making it. Only the past 10yrs or so have they progressed at all. How quickly recent success seems to blind those who don't even realize where the school was located for the most of its existence. Typical west knox person, slants his arguments towards only recent years when things are good. Farragut, AE, Fulton, Bearden, Webb, even Central have been putting out D1 prospects FOR MANY DECADES. history lesson concluded

Since you seem to be the recorder of geographical movements Scott, maybe you can tell us where they were between june 11-14 and IF they will be traveling july 10-14. hard to imagine one state title makes a school so paranoid

I don't think its a money issue, I think its an unfair competitive edge issue. Nothing wrong with working hard during the summer or offseason but trying to bend the rules or go beyond them just isn't sporting. I know the AD of the school reads these posts, maybe he has some info that will shed light on the legality of it.

It is in the middle of this month. I didnt know if the dead period had a geographical restriction on it, if it doesnt more teams should travel out of area to scrimmage out of state teams and practice.

KCHS is taking their entire team and staff out of state for padded scrimmages and practices. Is that even legal?

Many schools right now have alot of vacancies, any ideas who is going where with spring practice coming up? SD needs a head coach, KCHS needs a whole new staff other than Pemberton including a D coordinator, Ron Gray is going to leave but where to? Farragut has holes on both sides, as does Oak Ridge and AE
