Yeah and you are a BOHICA candidate...........I remember when he got the job the first time; the Williamson Co. wonder was going to dominate Metro football with his brilliance. Metro 6A football is the monster that eats any and all coaches. It is hard to compete in Metro 6A; the surrounding counties have better everything. Woodard is a good solid coach, but he left for his "dream" job that turned into a nightmare..............HE LEFT!! I simply take issue with the "deserves" comment. All he he deserves is an interview........perhaps!

Coaches constantly preach team loyalty.............Mr Woodard will come up a bit short in this department as far as Antioch is concerned in my opinion. I would look elsewhere.

Busing actually started in the late 60's..............athletics were still viable probably into the late 80's and early 90's; then the "death spiral" started. Metro is still very strong and competitive in athletics..............but the strength is centered in the "Metro privates". Metro publics get very limited "printed" publicity, very little fan support; scattered support from administration (to many admininstrators.......athletics is but a necessary evil). To compare 6A/5A metro public schools to the surrounding 6A/5A schools............just not a level playing field any longer. IMHO also............IMHO; the real damage of busing was the destruction of community schools; this basically killed real support. There used to be some great communities withing the metro publics with great support. Examples...........Donelson use to have 2 HS's with great support -gone!! Bellevue was a great community based school; there is no HS in Bellevue (except for one called Ensworth). Madison - gone; Dupont-gone.............................big old comprehensive schools with zero community backing maybe the culprit along with the stupidity of the grand social engineering called busing..........note done by the extremely efficient federal govt and friends.

been reading all this for some time..............first; I have no horse in this race, but would like to make a comment. I watched Brentwood play on TV vs Cookeville; then got to see them in person vs MJ. I saw great improvement.............BUT (large BUT) They had no business being on the field with MJ.........they made a real game out of it for about 3 qtrs; then talent mismatch finally got them! From where I was setting, I saw a very well coached team that got about just about all they could out of the material hand that they were dealt............I saw very average talent, great coaching on both sides of the ball. Some comments I heard in the stands = clueless as to the staff you HAD!! Good luck in your search......you will need it!!

I would say that coming off such a dominating win over a powerhouse Antioch squad will mean an easy win over Wilson Central. The "kitties" were beaten easily by the depleted Gallatin JV team. There is really only one team in Wilson County and that is my MJ Bears. Lavergne will win going away..........28 - 0. go Bears

I really do not see the "kitties" beating the short-handed Wave. They scrimmaged Macon Co and I think White Co, and then Trousdale in the jamboree; I heard that they looked OK in all their pre-season work, BUT they really did not go against a good 5A/6A type team. I do know that they have gone back to their old wing-t offense. About all that I know. Bears Rule this year ...........sorry Wave

How will the Gallatin debacle affect the district race? Who does Gallatin play early?

The "kitties" are probably a little better, but even a diminished Wave bunch will still handle WC. Only team this season from Wilson Co is Da Bears!!

I heard very one-sided in MJ's favor 6 or 7 td's to 1 for Shelbyville............another bit of Wilson Co news. I also heard that Wilson Central Killed White Co.; the Puddy-Tats may be reviving a bit (LOL) Bears will rule

Could I ask for a civil debate? First, I know that a top level wing team has not won in TN..........that is a fact! but I do not think a particular offense has anything to do with it.........it is the players IMHO. (here is why) Georgia plays a higher calibre brand of football than TN; the facts bear this out more money in programs more population better hs facilities more D1 prospects Since 2003 in Georgia in 5A football (that is highest class) either Camden Co or Lowndes Co. has won the state football title. In 2006........neither won! Both those teams are wing teams that are winning the highest class in a state that is easily one of the top hs football states in the nation. So, what you are saying is if you run the wing offense in TN; you cannot win the highest class!! but in a state that plays pretty dang good HS football.........you can! here is the link........check it out GA Champs There are some fans that get on coach T and say this constantly (they do not like the offense), but I hate to tell you; it is an urban legend. Camden Co. Ga and Lowndes Co. Ga are (2) very scary programs and there are a couple of others Grayson, Harrison that can play with anybody here in TN. I dare say if Maryville or Alcoa ran the wing.......they would still win just like they do now. Beech won 5A with it a couple of years ago........but if they had been 6A (no chance??) Heck, the best team in state last year was a 3A team; so class is really irrelivant (sp) You simply just do not like the offense........but that 6A thing in TN is simply an urban legend---------unless you can tell me that TN HS football is better than GA HS football........sorry but it is not even close. go bear wing

Let me explain this to you.............listen carefully. First - even though Murphy Fair is the "guru of TN football"; he basically recites or regurgitates what coaches give him (very little of his prognosis is his own first-hand observation)..............so, the reason that a player is not mentioned is usually due to the COACH. This oversight by the coach can one of several reasons 1.) Coach does not participate, and does not like to do the Murphy thing (*note many never return his questionaire.........some coaches do a great job in this area; many do not!) 2.) Perhaps the player is a very good player, but does and will not have grades to sign anywhere......if player is real good; he will be featured; in spite of the fact that no one will sign him!! Most coaches will do this.........but if he is not mentioned; go back to reason # 1 3.) Some coaches will "sandbag" on their talent..........think about it?? a.) A Bunch of prospects = you better win!! (or parents/fans/reporters will think less of your coaching) b.) Few prospects/ average players (with great record) = GREAT COACH Some coaches are great promoters of their players.........some are not! Have no idea where Coach Lassiter might fall........but if your could see the returned Gallatin questionaire........you could determine that! While I am posting; I will also add. The Wave better not get to over confident about the MJ Bears and their "Wing-T offense sucks". The Bears are looking pretty strong, and you got to come to our house. go bears

lets analyze what you say 1.) G should be in top 3 2.) MJ's offense sucks (avg 35.5/12 games......G avg 22/11 games) SUCK....think not 3.) SC their offense did suck! will not finish at 3rd 4.) WC their offense will also suck!! (In your eyes); they are back to wing offense 5.) B they did lose some good skill *note the suck wing did 31.5/11 games; you did 22 6.) H probably some big holes to fill!! *note another suck offense (avg 25.6/15 games)..you did 22! 7.) L too much skill to be this low..but "O" will suck; another wing bunch 8.) P wrong classification and league. go wing bears!! ( I am a fan of our suck wing offense

My boys over here in Wilson Co. might surprise ya'll over cross the river. Changes have occurred!! My Picks 1.) MJ.......for certain; I am a homer!! 2.) Gallatin........might have best squad 3.) Beech.......lost some good skill players 4.) Wilson Central.......have made some big changes on "O" 5.) Lebanon.........good QB, but coaching change is ??......might finish higher 6.) Hendersonville.......they lost a bunch of players 7.) Station Camp.......had good young players; can they play in Dist 9 8.) Portland......is coaching change an improvement?
