  1. I was hoping to see a good game, but I was pleased that the corn fed country bumpkins put a tail kicking on suburb kids. Wow, what a smack in the mouth. Farragut, just like all 4A and 5A Knoxville schools is overrated big time.
  2. Agree. Parents can ruin everything. Sometimes the coaches can show favortism towards upperclassmen, there is no doubt about that. But more times than not, he or she is going to play the best player at that particular postion. The thing is, too much politics gets involved(as happened in Monroe County this summer) and Coaches go through a revoling door. My niece, who graduated from SQHS, was in a situation like this five years ago. It goes on at a lot of places, and it always will.
  3. There are a lot of good teams in the Atlanta area, but I have not fimilarity with them, so it is differnt. I am going to to a game with a friend of mine tonight, so it should be a lot of fun. By the way, I work for a bank, and I met Bobby Cox the other day. That is the kind of perks that comes with the job. .
  4. So, I am going to the game tonight. Tell me of a good place to eat after the game. You know, a hideaway place, and not a place like Sonic, Burger King or etc.
  5. Honestly, I don't know anyone who would want to live in that dump of a city. Live in the suburbs, but the ghetto is nothing but trash. Hopefully, the kid makes it ok.
  6. And I believe that they will be AA come playoff time, and A in basketball. Is that correct? It looks like they made it by just a few students. It will be odd not having the same district games, but of course we can still play them. This really helps us a lot.
  7. Very impressed with him last night. He never gives up on the play, and usually does the punishing himself. He looks good enough to play at a small college. And as for Tellico, they did not look like a disciplined ball team. There were about 4 personal foul penalties, and the early turnovers and failed conversion took them out of the game. Very frustrating.
  8. Yeah, and Central looks good too. I will have to go and watch them sometime.
  9. The Hook and Ladder play at the end of the half was as good of that play as I have ever seen. But hey, I know how you feel(and we have a long way to go too). Hopefully both teams will hang in there, and keep their heads up.
  10. I don't know if I will be there or not. I tell you what, I look at Polk County, and I think that Tellico can do the same thing. The schools are almost very similiar to each other, when you consider the racial makeup, and the type of kids that go there. I mean, just because you have a school full of white kids does not mean that you can't win. It will be a tough game, and Tellico would have to play an almost error free game to have a chance.
  11. Woohooo!!!!!!!! First time in 15 games!
  12. Let me add that the Sequoyah win was pretty sweet in 1999. Sequoyah thought they were going to run over Tellico, but we really smacked them in the mouth that year. Of course they did not lose until the Quarterfinals of the playoffs.
  13. This is Squeak. Did you say Coach Hunt had copies from that season?
  14. Yeah Cathey, you were pretty busy with the extra points in 94. Man, that team had a lot of depth. But yeah, the Meigs County week was a LOT of fun. I remember arriving 2 and 1/2 hours before that game. It was COLD! Jerimiah Kirkland's kickoff return was the loudest I ever heard that stadium too. . We stopped their running back from what I remember, but the air game killed us. Oliver Springs was a heck of a game. I think it went down to the wire. But yeah, the Onieda game was a hard one to swallow. I can't imagine what it was like for the players and coaches. I mean, Tellico whipped Onieda on the line, and it was oneida's worst possible match up. But, we called a stupid fake punt in the second half, and the momentem was gone after that. Coach Liles will even admit that was a very dumb call. At the time, I did not appreciate that year as much as I should have. Those teams comes around once every 20 years in Tellico. I don't think you all would have beat Harriman the next week, but who knows?
  15. Is this Mike Cathey? How are things going in South Carolina?
  16. You said that you had some DVDs from the 1994 season. I want some copies, if that is ok. Email me at jmkelley21@gmail.com.
  17. Tellico had a pretty good team in 1994. We ran the Notre Dame Box, and had a huge, dominating Offensive Line. We were 8 - 0 before we lost to Meigs County, who was ranked number 1 in the State. We crushed a terrible Madisonville team 54 - 6, and defeated a pretty good Sequatchie County team 9 - 7. We defeated Smith County and Oliver Springs in the playoffs, before falling to Onieda 28 - 14. As much as I like Coach Liles, that was one of the worst coached games I have ever seen. Still though, it was a heck of a year, especially in Tellico. And Sequoyah's best team was in 1999. Yeah, we beat them that year too!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Can you really tell anything from these 7 on 7 drills? In my opinion, the 7 on 7 drills only keep you in playing shape. In no way is your talent really evaluated. Football is played in pads.
  19. Yes, Tellico and Sweetwater do not fight among themselves. I have been around all three schools, and you can tell a big difference at Sequoyah. I would suggest that some of the good folks at Sequoyah throw out the few bad apples that are ruining your orchard. That's just it, most of the people are not causing the problems.
  20. What does the playoff format look like this year? In other words, which regions get homefield advantage when it comes playoff time?
  21. I can tell you for a fact that Lisa and Sonya are not smart enough to think this through. Sonya is just like Dean Williams in that they are out to get people. Funny thing is that one of the people running for school board is a former Monroe County employee who was one of her main enemies. She makes Steve Rogers look like Einstein, and Rogers was dumb as a box of rrocks.
  22. I heard that the Blowhard Dean Williams has something against Mr. Moser. Is that true? We need people on the school board that has a set on them, and is willing to take a stand on what is right. By the way folks, early voting starts on the 17th. The election commision has moved once again. They are in the big red roof building hehind the Courthouse. (I think it use to be a grocery store)
  23. So the yes people were Dean Williams, Sonya Lynn, Lisa Maclamore, and who else? Reagan Dalton and the black guy from Sweetwater voted NO. You will not believe how many people hate Sonya Lynn. I have no idea how that (you fill in the blank) got elected to office. She does nothing but make things worse. We really need term limits in this county.
  24. Can you name the coach who has been at Sequoyah longer than anyone? It is David Staff, the first coach, and current coach at Sweewater. Honestly, if they had let him coach, he would have still been at Sequoyah, and hence, Sequoyah would have much more stability over the years. I have been around Madisonville a long time, and a few knuckleheads ruin it for everyone in those communities. I swear, they put their own pride and agenda over the people who matter, and that would be the kids. Unless it gets out of control, Vonore WILL NOT get their own school again. This county has never added a high school, and it does not have the money to do so.
