  1. Yea Injuries this time of the year can be huge for teams with little depth at some key positions. I have to give Fairview some props who were better than I initially thought. My2 Cents .... Fairview weaker schedule compared to other teams still standing may have hurt them in the long run. I do think Fairview would have matched up well against CPA, but we will never know. Maxprep CPA @ Goodpasture Preview I have a feeling that the CPA Goodpasture match up will be an ongoing yearly battle as both schools move into the DII division next year.
  2. Although CPA was 1-6 going into to October they had one of the toughest schedules in 3A for sure, with losses to a 7A Parkview team out of GA, Ensworth, Knoxville Catholic, Pearl-Cohn, Stratford, and Goodpasture. I think the key in this game will come down to the 2 talented Sophmore QB's from Goodpasture and CPA. I am sure the Lions are looking forward to the rematch instead of driving out to a would be undfeated 12-0 Fairview Yellow Jackets. I am still not sure that CPA will be playing after thxgiving but they will get close.
  3. Yea good job to the Fairview ROTC the halftime ceremony for the Vets was really cool! For the Yellow Jackets #1 is going to be good and all who play Fairview in the future should watch out for this kid. Fairview's #4 is a faster than advertised and very slippery. I think the Cougars kept grinding it and eventually worn down the Yellow Jackets. Another come from behind victory for the Cougars who now host CPA next week at home.
  4. http://goodpasture.football/ Let's get it on.
  5. http://goodpasture.football/ Going to be a good game and outside of playing Stratford will be the Cougar's toughest test this season in Fairview tonight. For all of the Yellow Jackets fans here is a sneak peak of what you can expect tonight from the Cougars.
  6. Nashville Christian 7 @ Huntingdon 35 TSSAA 1A SemiFinal 11-23-12 #9 Jacob Warbritton was a beast that year with over 3000+ yards pushing 43TD's!.
  7. Yea I would agree Fitzgerald is a really good coach!
  8. No there will never be another Reynolds who was a running QB where the current #13 sophomore QB is more a drop back passer that can run and scramble some but not really his strength.
  9. Yea if Coach Joslin doesn't get Coach of the year for an unbelievable turnaround this year I dont know who should. You are right they have improved as the season progressed. In Week1 vs BGA, Goodpasture won the game on the field but not on the scoreboard and everyone there at that game quickly noticed a big difference in the 2016 Cougar team. The following week playing 4A White House the Cougars snapped a 22 game losing streak that was very emotional for the coaching staff to finally get that GORILLA off their backs! Basically 6 yards away from beating Stratford but lost by 1 pt. Every player on the roster got to play 5 times this year and many of the scores looked closer than games actually were. Watching video of the Fairview team looks like they may match up good against the Cougars and will be a good game for both fan bases.
  10. Not sure any coach takes the info that is posted on CoachT to make their game plans around. Most of what I pointed out as well as Swarm can be seen watching game tape. Mostly just for both side fans to add a little extra info to the game.
  11. Players to watch on Goodpasture team - #6 #2, #4, #53, #1 just to name a few. This will be Goodpasture biggest test this season for sure. Fairview seems to be able to move the ball down the field at will on every opponent they have played with ease. These 2 teams squared off in the Austin Peay 7on7 Championship back in August and who knew these 2 teams were going to be this good playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs! Yea #6 Mason is in one of the Cougars offensive threats that I am sure gives opposing Defensive Coordinators headaches. Even though teams try to kick away from Mason earlier this year he had back2back punt returns for TD's within 3 minutes off the game clock. Then later in the year one game had 2 Kickoff returns of 85 and 93 yards 3 weeks ago that were only 5 minutes apart. The Cougars have several players to watch. The 6-3 235 pound "Swim Army Knife" #2 who plays TE, WR, RB, QB, DE, and averages over 45 yards per punt creates lots of problems as well. The Cougars have a 2-year starter Sophmore QB #13 who started all but 1 or 2 games last year as freshmen took a beating last season who now plays like a 5th year senior and will throw it deep with accuracy. On Defense, one of the Cougars leading tacklers linebacker #1 is very deceiving although not very big plays like a much bigger player. the other LB #53 is an animal that also plays fullback lives in opposing team backfield with many sacks. #2 off the edge at DE is coming be difficult to handle as well. #4 Sophmore RB who also plays DL will pound the rock and runs angry.
  12. Video of these two teams who battled down to the wire in Oct. Should be another good one!!
  13. Harpeth did as much as they could against the Cougars and they overachieved this year with a very impressive job by the Harpeth coaching staff finishing the regular season with 8-2 record. Cougars were just too much for the Indians last night.
  14. http://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2016/11/04/lipscombs-rutger-reitmaier-play-us-army-all-american-bowl/93305326/ Lipscomb Academy senior Rutger Reitmaier began Friday by finding out he was named a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football semifinalist.
  15. I remember shooting that video on a cold night in Collinwood. The Eagles should win but it might be closer than some of the NCS fans would like.
  16. Lipscomb basically runs a WingT offense. The key for Springfield is to keep the Oregon commit #73 Rutger Rietmaier out of the YellowJackets backfield. He is a big fast dude that will create lots of problems.
  17. That is one question I had when I watched East earlier this year and wondered why #1 Phillips did not play on offensive and line up in the backfield and run the ball or TE/SLOT or WR. The problem East does not have a QB from what I have seen so I would just Wildcat direct Snap to Phillips and have him run off tackle all night long . He is a load and would get 5 yards a carry easy. Now that it is the playoffs I bet he will be much more involved i the offensive.
  18. I wanted to make one comment about CPA's WR #25 Noah Henderson who is a sophomore and one of the young players I believe bcd is referring too. He is one of the better WR I have seen this year out of all the games I have filmed. He is deceiving and much faster than you think he is. Appears that he will catch almost anything thrown his direction. He made a great one-handed catch against Goodpasture that would make Sports Center. If CPA gets good QB play from another one of their sophomores and can compliment their running game they will be hard to stop on offensive.
  19. Thought I would add a video for the Camden folks to get an idea of what the CPA did against Stratford earlier this year.
  20. I can tell first hand that Stratford QB #9 Josh Trueheart is a good player and has the potential to play on Saturdays for sure. Sucks that he got hurt as they were a very hard team to match up with both playing. Trueheart did not just hand it off to RB #1 Terrell Carter he threw it often and has a strong arm, although not very accurate but has very strong arm and can sling it.
  21. Out of all the games I have seen this year East looked the most Athletic. They for sure pass the look test. Amazing how a smaller, slower more organized team can beat the crap out of faster and more athletic teams who are well coached. I think East biggest weakness is they do not have a good QB and because of this they basically cannot move the ball consistently and have way too many turnovers.
  22. Doesn't look like the Harpeth fans in Kingston Springs are very active on CoachT message boards. I personally know several of the player's parents that play on the Harpeth team and hope none of them get hurt as the Cougars are amped up and ready to bring it! Here is a little sneak peak for the Harpeth fans of what the Cougars are bringing this Friday night.
  23. I have filmed and seen East up close they have some size and speed however not very disciplined. Fairview should beat them if they execute and don't turn the ball over. East is very athletic team with several big fast players so they may not be an easy win for Fairview. East Linebacker #1 Jacob Phillips who has committed to Oklahoma is they key player for East on Defense. While I was standing on East's sideline several weeks ago at the Goodpasture game I met John Chavis Texas AM defensive coordinator was there to watch #1 even though he has committed to Oklahoma? East has a solid defense but not so much on offense. Fairview's offense before every snap needs to be aware of where #1 is as he attacks from everywhere and averages over 11 solo tackles per game.
