  1. Sic em BD.... I will say this. Dekalb has played well. And I believe that LA has not played as well as they could in several games. That being said, LA has more from top to bottom. LA has home field advantage. LA has a much better running back. I have a feeling that LA will show up for this one and if they play 4 quarters they will win. But beware, if they aren't playing their best it could be a long night. Going to be interesting. If LA plays their best game and Dekalb plays their best game then LA wins.
  2. The Director of Schools has no guts (or whatever you want to call it). He didn't have guts as a coach to stand up to certain parents and he certainly doesn't have the guts to stand up to Board Members. He is a puppet on a string. No guts. Sorry but your tax dollars are being wasted. I agree that the Livingston fans need to support Jimmy and I wish him the best of luck.
  3. Congrats to Stone Memorial for whipping up on York. I don't think that there is anything in the world that makes me happier than York gettin beat down. As for the game this week, it's hard to say but judging from the interview of LA's head coach in the Overton County News LA has a lot of question marks. LA is young but that's not always a bad thing. I think these young guys are hungry and want to win. They weren't there for the 'lost years' a few years ago so maybe that didn't rub off on them. Your biggest improvements in football come between your first and second games. Stone has that advantage over us but I think it's a close one and hopefully LA comes out on top.
  4. No I don't like it when I have a son & several other family members playing on this team & you can bet I'll call you out when you belittle all their hard work while you probably can't even get off your couch to go get another soda & bag of chips. Oneida is just as good a measuring stick for York as any of the rest of the schools in York's region are. We have NEVER had any problem playing & competing with schools bigger than us so don't talk about our boys like they're barely good enough to even line up much less be any good. I haven't belittled anyone's hard work. I played football for a long time and I know exactly how much hard work goes into it. Quit being such a baby and taking everything personally. Obviously, UT wouldn't brag about scrimmaging Tennessee Tech so why would York brag about scrimmaging Oneida? That's all I'm saying. You take offense to something that wasn't even bashing your team. York is a bigger school and 'should' wax your team but they didn't according to you. Congrats! If you can't understand that then maybe you should do some more sports research. Bottom line is 'if' York doesn't handle Oneida and Monterey pretty easy then York is underachieving and Oneida is overachieving.
  5. Don't know anything about Monterey so I'll have no comments about that. As for Oneida, well they always have a well put together team, some years better than others as with any program but Oneida has made the playoffs year in & year out. The last 3 years have been second round or later. If Oneida is such a poor choice then your beloved LA made the same poor choice in '08. Now I know the past is the past but that's not fifteen years ago that was just the season before last. York & Oneida have been having spring scrimmages & 7 on 7 for several years now & regardless of outcome the next year they always schedule each other again. That is more than I can say for LA after they got waxed a couple springs ago. Best of luck & stay safe. In '08 LA was in the middle of the 3 worst seasons they had had in decades. I can't speak for the coaching staff at that time but I would think that is the reason they scheduled Oneida and Clay County. I wish we played both of those teams in the regular season. Sure would help in the W column.
  6. If you don't like it then don't read it. All I am saying is that Monterey and Onieda probably isn't a good measuring stick for the success or lack of success for York next season. Sorry if you don't agree INJUN.
  7. So who won this Battle of the Titans anyway?? Well there "hounddog" we scored on their defense & they scored on a turnover. I know you probably really dislike York being from LA but is there some reason that you are being disrespectful to Oneida? We don't play you & haven't in a very long time. What makes you think your team is such a "Titan" to be being so sarcastic about either of these teams? Why don't you go crawl back in your doghouse?[/color] You are correct to assume that since I am from LA that I really dislike York. I am sorry if I offended you with my sarcasim, maybe this color would be better for your next post since you are so sensitive.
  8. Just who did York have no problem scoring easily on It sure wasn't Oneida. They got close ONE time on Oneida but DIDN'T score on our defense. They scored ONCE on us & that was on a turnover so maybe you watched a different scrimmage than I did. So who won this Battle of the Titans anyway??
  9. Oneida and Monterey huh???? That's impressive!!
  10. We are all aware of the great things Sgt. York did and we are all very grateful. Especially on a weekend like this weekend.
  11. Another good season for the Wildcats.
  12. Well that's good news.... Now there will be no excuses when we win by 30 next year
  13. In the past five years, LA has been to the playoffs twice and won a state championship. I would say that's is a little more than 'some' success. You still didn't answer the question, do you think having to actually pay for things like every other team in the state will hurt the program??
  14. I read the other day that the State of Tennessee would no longer be funding York Institute. I just wonder how this will effect the Lizards on the hill now that they are on a level playing field with the rest of the State.... I would say that their days of having an even 'slighty' competetive football team are over.
  15. Gimme some of dat!!! If it'll keep you quiet, you can have it all!!! Needs butter.
  16. Wassup BigDaddy?? I don't believe basketball was this big back when we were in school, was it? Amazing how things change.
  17. Hard to run full speed when that head's throbbin! I've played against FRONT RUNNERS a lot and I know FRONT RUNNERS when I see them!
  18. One more thing tho about a past season... LA was beat pretty badly by both Austin East and Knox Catholic the year we won the State Title during the regular season. But the playoffs were like a whole new season for those boys. They put their heart and souls into every game that they played and come out with a W. Ive not seen a LA team like it again, till now. This is the first year LA has made the playoffs sense the Title run, and the boys are showing that same determination to go out and win as the team did four years ago. I can see this LA team doing a repeat of that year. Hard work can beat talent. That has been proved before and with alot of work and a little luck it will happen again. GO HOGEYE You're right. Hard work does beat talent. And I would be willing to bet that whites creek doesn't have the grit that LA has. If LA can score a couple of quick touch downs to start the game, Whites Creek will lay down. I've seen it to many times.
  19. Congrats to LA and especially the seniors. You boys have hung in there through the tough times and now you are getting to see what LA football is all about! Keep it up! Good luck next week.
  20. I think you need to use a few more exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
