  1. You can listen to the game at www.ensworthlive.com
  2. the webcast can be found at www.ensworthlive.com. I think it'll be closer than people think. Ensworth has a strong running game, but when they face a big strong line against Oakland the rushing game was slowed down and they eventually had to turn to their passing game. However, the passing game this week will be hampered by the fact that EHS's best WR, Jacob Carter, is out. Not to mention the fact that the homecoming turn out for the smyrna could create a hostile situation for a somewhat unsuspecting tiger team. I think EHS will pull it 21-17
  3. Ensworth's is www.ensworthlive.com
  4. yes, you can find the webcast at www.ensworthlive.com
  5. My point isn't that it's an incredible play, my point is that our coaches called it. You could have Bill Belichick's playbook, but know when to call each play and how to work with a team is what makes the difference. Ricky Bowers is probably one of the best coaches in the state. I agree, I still don't understand that. The refs were bad, but they were bad for both teams. If we had lost instead of you, you wouldn't say that though Yes, I do because I was in the press box next to the coaching staff who call the plays, when the tv people came in and told them that they decided to push back the game. MBA, BA, Baylor, Mcallie, and MUS are not exactly terrible teams I already addressed this. Ensworth is the only private school in the nation. if you look at the demographics of the players on the team, they're all just as close as any of the other students. Every time a D2 school plays, correction, beats a D1 school that argument always comes up. Towards Chattanooga, Bayor and Mcallie pick up players, and in memphis, MUS and Christian Brothers fight for players. MBA, BA and any other private school in the midstate, of which there are many, all wish to improve their athletic teams. But don't forget, ensworth still only has 200 boys to make up all its teams year round. They don't have the luxury of focusing just on football or just on basketball. Most people have to play multiple sports throughout the year just so we can have teams. Some, no, most of those football players are triple sport athletes. Ensworth didn't have to play Oakland, and oakland didn't have to play Ensworth. Both teams scheduled the game looking for early competition. Ensworth tries to seek out the best teams and play them when they can. We play Symrna is a couple of weeks. I didn't say, nor do I think that this is the upset of the year. My point was that from the way you were talking about ensworth being scared and oakland's power backs running up the middle, you made it an upset. You have a good d-line and a fairly good team that stands a good chance of repeating and state champs. You should be happy you got to play a game that doesn't even matter as far as playoffs are concerned and played it against such great competition. Ensworth is just a better team.
  6. I'm sorry, you're right. Ensworth doesn't have to compete with MBA (nationally ranked), BA (went to title game), MUS (won D2 state title), Mcallie, and Baylor for talent. We have it soooo easy. Half of the males in our entire school are on the football team. It takes just about every guy in our school to field our football, golf, and cross country teams. But thank goodness we can "find the best talent in the mid-state" without competition otherwise we might have to practice and train, and, heaven forbid, find a good coaching staff to call plays like the fake handoff option right to win the game... yeah, skill, work ethic and preparation had nothing to do with that win.
  7. I could say I told you so. I ask you how you feel about having to eat your comments about Ensworth being too scared to play. I could even point out that Ensworth is only in their 3rd varsity season of football and just knocked out the supposed best team in the state despite being a Div. 2 AA team. I could mention the EHS has 400 kids as opposed to Oakland's 1500, but that would be pointless smack talk. Instead, I think I'll just say good game and 22-20.
  8. they return 7 starters on offense and Ensworth returns 7 on defense and I'm not sure about their offense. Ensworth doesn't have a game to prepare for week 1 because each grade takes a weekend retreat at the beginning of each year (they do it build community or something like that) and keep in mind there's only 100 students per grade. Ensworth usual take the retreat this week, but wanted to play oakland so mcuh they pushed it back one week. look at their past schedules.
  9. You lost your top three running backs from last year, and your prospective starter for this year (dre fraiser) tore his acl. Not only does Ensworth have a good starting running back in Orleans (1,952 yards and 21 TD's), but his back up are also good. Rodney Anderson ran a 4.4 40 yard dash in summer workouts. And if you've watched EHS's games from last year, or you read what I wrote about the teams being clones of each other, you know that if it had rained Ensworth would have run the ball the same way Oakland would have.
  10. I go to Ensworth High School and I just wanted to address a few things before the game. 1. Coach Bowers canceled the game because he had do. The T.V. network wouldn't have been able to do the game in the bad weather and they didn't want to risk it. They arranged the new time and date and both teams agreed to it. I read the e-mail sent to the football and Coach Bowers was upset he had to change the time. Do a little research next time before you start making ridiculous accusations. (however, as a side note, all the schools around EHS were put in lock-down yesterday because a couple of fugitives were loose and a lot of people we afraid the game would be postponed again.) 2. You made it even more obvious that you had done absolutely no research when you said the game was canceled because EHS wanted to make more money. Have you seen the school? they're not exactly desperate for funds. 3. Nobody's going to be pounded or destroyed in this game. I think it will be a good close game, but the ability of both teams to pass will be the difference, both teams are big, both teams are physical, and both teams have great D-lines. Ensworth will try to run, and we have better backs, but it will ultimately come down to the passing games. 4. For those who asked if the game is online: you can find it at www.ensworthlive.com
  11. Actually the EHS games are going to be at this site instead of the previous one and it includes both video and sound: http://inside.ensworth.com/streaming/index.html
  12. Ensworth will be webcasting at http://web.accelerint.com/customers/ensworth/
