  1. I think this will be the best game in this series in a long time...I think GP has the edge offensively with the Tigers having a slight advantage on the defensive side of the ball. Both have good young kickers.
  2. Better hope they're not killing hogs at Swaggerty's during the game.....
  3. Has this game really come to this? Doesn't even get a thread until the day of the game
  4. Seems like GP is getting rolling and should get the win sounds like. Defense still needs work but have been told Coach Rang is an offensive genius. Thinking about heading to the Thicket on Friday to watch this one.
  5. Northview has a good veteran team from what I saw on Saturday when they played Chuckey-Doak. Their qb is the best in the county in my opinion and provides a threat on the ground and the air. They have a good sized line and could cause lots of problems for the opposing defenses. Their defense was solid against C-D and didn't allow much at all.
  6. No one in this region has the talent of Alcoa, it will be a battle and a half for that last playoff spot. One that I don't forsee the Tigers being involved in. It will be weird without Benny on the sidelines tho, he's the only coach that has held down that spot for GP since I was born and watching my cousin play for the Highlanders.
  7. Momma always said that if you didn't have anything nice to say, just don't say anything....I'm going with that.
  8. Adrian Watson was named as head coach tonight, coming from Northview where he was an assistant and the athletic director...Former longtime GP assistant and graduate....He applied several years ago, I believe it was when Meadows was hired....
  9. Northview Academy is part of the Sevier County School System
  10. He saw the size advantage, but I don't think he has the liberty to check out of the called play. He was born and raised football all the time, as his dad was a great qb in his time and has a great knowledge for the game. Another long trip up the road to Unicoi County is on tap for us Friday night.
  11. That game went unfortunately about as I had expected it too for us. If a team is going to stack all 11 in the box, like was done tonight you have to take a chance and air it out as our QB is pretty good given the chance to throw it and had some good chances too tonight but was never called to do so. His knee popped out of place during that 2nd punt just on a football move as I don't think he was ever touched on it. Our O-Line isn't very good and we've had several bad snaps from the center position so they tried someone new tonight, which wasn't a good night to do that IMO. The play calling when we would get inside the 10 was mind boggling as we tried to run the inside trap play after play when the slant was wide open on the man to man side with the safety shifted over to defend the twins on the opposite side. The one slant that was intercepted was a bad throw that wound up being tipped and picked. Our defense is gosh awful and has been most of the year, but no one will admit it. As for some of our fans I will put money that they guy that has been running his mouth was not even at the game nor does he represent actual Pigeon Forge fans. The dude with the megaphone, well he's just a straight up moron. A couple of years ago when we played at Alcoa and was down 42-0 or something of the sorts he was the guy that was yelling "just keep hitting them in the mouth, they'll back down" or something of the nature. I'm proud of the boys for the effort, but they have a long ways to go and not really anytime to get there. I would like to say Elizabethton is a great place to watch a game, the new facilities were great, but someone needs to teach them how to make popcorn....It sucked! Lol.
  12. Good game tonight at Lon C, Sevier County came out smoking hot with Wallace living up to the hype that he has around him and looked to be on cruise control. Once DB stuck with the qb option there was no stopping them at all. I agree the stripped ball and touchown as the difference maker with DB up 7 at the time but the Bears were definitely driving the field again and then that happened. The QB for DB is special as well and that kicker seems like he has a roboleg on him as well. Player of the game for the Bears may have been Hunter Miniard, without him I don't think they are even in the game to start with once they got down.
  13. Rain is supposedly moving in tonight maybe around the 2nd quarter to halftime and that will change the focus to the ground game, I would guess. Field conditions won't be a factor with the turf but turnovers will. I have thought that DB would come away with this one but if the Bears will keep feeding the rock to Banks and Griffin they should come away with the victory. Either way with PF off, I'm looking forward to watching this one go down. SC 27 DB 14
  14. I promise not all PF fans are this loud and boisterous.....Our offense has played very well this year so far, but our defense has a lot of work to do before anyone can consider us a powerhouse....
  15. Greenback's QB really impressed me last night with his leadership and his throws, many of those would be difficult throws he made look simple and really put on a show. Lots of speed from the Cherokees and just a good looking football team for sure. Congrats on the W.
  16. Wasn't an issue last week with the same weather conditions
  17. Not really sure what the outcome will be, but with all the injuries the Bears have it's gonna be tough for them to pull this one out. Rebels 42 Bears 28
  18. QB and TE for Grace both looked very solid IMO, the TE is a monster and is tough to bring down for sure. We have some good size on the line, just need to get it going all together and our defense is definitely not scared to come up and hit someone.
  19. GCA won 4-2.. GCA scored twice in their first 4 plays via the air, on quick strikes one bomb down the sideline and then a screen to Inman who took it to the house. We had one incredible drive all the way down the field and stuck it in on a 4th down play at the goal line for the first score and a interception return for another td...It was good work for both teams. PF scrimmages Kings tomorrow night at Kings
  20. GCA looked very good against us the other night in our scrimmage, however I think depth will be hard on them...They don't have just a ton of depth and started tiring out pretty quick but it is really early in the year and it was a very hot and humid day. Inman is an incredible football player, both sides of the ball..Both he and his brother seemed to be really good kids.
  21. His daughter was already "living" in a cabin in Gatlinburg so she could play for the Lady Highlanders basketball team last year, so no surprise in this hire...
  22. Cory Harkleroad will be the boys coach at Northview Academy.
  23. You can thank our wonderful school superintendent Jack Parton for that move...The interviews that were held was all just a formality because they had to be done. Kucela was already hired while the interviews were going on....It sucks when your not GP and get handed what he wants to give you.
  24. I'll give ya the same answer as I did in the other topic lol...There is only one person that knows that answer but I surely hope it is for a long time, as I am very excited about the future of our program under his leadership.
  25. There is only one man that can answer that question, but I am excited about the future under Coach Meadows.
