  1. This is a big game. It will determine who gets a three seed and a home playoff game or a six seed and have to travel and play a good team. Huge game.
  2. Considering Sycamore gives up an average of 10 points a game, I find it hard to believe GP will hang 40+ on them. Undefeated (until last week) Harpeth was averaging 37 points a game until they were held to 7 last week. As a matter of fact, Sycamore has held every opponent they've played to their lowest or second to lowest offensive output of the entire year. Sycamore is not flashy, but they will pound you. Good luck and no injuries to both teams!
  3. Comparative scores and opponents don't mean anything in high school football. This game will come down to turnover margin. You have a defense minded team vs an offense minded team. The team that holds on to the ball the best will win.
  4. Macon could have a field day on Sycamore's secondary if changes aren't made, but sycamore has two weeks to prepare due to an off week. Sycamore can stop anybody's running game. On offense, Sycamore is no longer a one-trick pony like years past. They threw for over 300 yards against Greenbrier. This will not be a high scoring game and the team with the least amount of turnovers will win by a touchdown or less. Both coaching staffs will have their kids ready and alot of the assumed offense will be negated. Here's to a good game and no injuries!
  5. 50-33 Alcoa game pretty much over
  6. Well, being a Sycamore fan and parent, I have to predict that they will win. I'm not going to go tell my son that there is no way they can beat someone. Even the mighty Goodpasture. Sure, you guys SHOULD win, but all it takes is a real good team to be looking ahead to the next game and get tripped up by a tough team hitting their stride looking for a playoff spot. Here's to a good game and no injuries
  7. Sycamore beat Westmoreland. Westmoreland beat Greenbriar. Greenbriar beat White House by more than 1 point. White House only lost to GP by one point. So logic suggests Sycamore by 3
  8. In no way do I want to take away anything from this game, but Sycamore deserves a little credit giving strong schools like Goodpasture and Creekwood a huge run for their money. They are much better since playing Greenbrier the first time.
  9. Whoever wins this game is in. The loser still has a slim, slim chance depending on the wildcard standings work out.
  10. Both these teams just line up and run the ball down your throat, eat up the clock, then they let their tough defense stop you from doing much of anything. There is no doubt Goodpasture is the better team on paper, but Sycamore is really stubborn. I have no doubt that if they start Dalton from day 1, they only have 1 loss right now. This is not the same team that started 0-3. They switched QB's at 0-3 and haven't really looked back since. I don't think anybody in the state gave them a chance in heck to hang with Creekwood last game at their place, but 28-21 was no fluke. They led at half time. Goodpasture and their fans are a class act. I have friends that have their kids going to school there. I am glad to have them around for the next few years to play. They bring nothing but huge tradition and class with them. Here's to a good game with no injuries!
  11. The Macon guys played their guts out. #21 is one heck of a player. You guys will take some bumps this year but I look for you to be much better in the near future. I'm a sycamore dad, so I'm happy the game ended up the way it did, but we've all been where Macon is at one point or another in our lives and while some just roll over and give up, Macon steps up. I wish you good luck the rest of the season. Keep playing hard and you will beat not one, but two teams that you shouldn't have and even if you don't end up making the playoffs, you can have a big deciding factor in who does.
  12. Sycamore lost a lot of leadership. If a few of the boys step up and take this team over, they can do similar to last year, if not it could be a long year.
  13. Sycamore just pounded the ball down their throats and had several long sustained scoring drives. The best way to stop speed on offense is to not let them have the ball. Sycamore controlled the line of scrimmage the whole night and pushed them all over the field. Very good game plan by Sycamore. Sycamore @ Station Camp will be a good game.
  14. The QB for Sycamore, Simms has been playing through an ankle injury that severely limited his running ability during a few of the games in the middle of the year. When you run primarily an option based offense with a hobbled QB, it takes one third of your offense away. He's 100% now and since the second half of the White House game the coaching staff has also opened up the passing game a bit by necessity. With that said, Sycamore's strength is the defense. Take away the first half at White House and nobody has done much of anything against them. Six fumbles, with three being on the Sycamore side of the fifty gave Station Camp their 28-13 win. Dekalb is the real deal. This will be a fun game to watch. Nobody can really stop their offense. Sycamore probably has a better defense, but the Tigers have by far a better offense. If Sycamore can create a few turnovers, they'll have a shot. But that's true for about any football game. A straight up football game with no turnovers will see Dekalb picking up the win, but we all know that hardly ever happens. Here's to a good football game with no injuries. Both teams will be seeing the playoffs, so this one is for fun and seeding.
  15. Sycamore fumbled five times. Two times inside their own 20. That was the game right there. These teams were pretty evenly matched. Nasty, wet game.
  16. From watching some game film, this game will come down to who limits the little mistakes like false starts, etc. Sycamore looks a little more disciplined, but SC has the edge on size and speed. I think this will be a low scoring game, especially if the field is wet. The edge goes to the team that wins the penalty/turnover battle.
