Grace wins 16-6 in game one. Rockwood made some noise early, but Grace bats just too much for them in the end. Midway beats Harriman 1-0 in a pitcher's duel with Viar going for Midway and Works for Harriman. Harriman had two runners aboard with 1 out in the 7th, but grounded into a game ending double play. Blue Devils eliminated. Midway will play Rockwood tomorrow at 5pm, winner advances to championship at 7:30 v. Grace University.

Rockwood has a great chance to make it to the Boro, provided they can get out of their district. Teams seeded 1-4 and maybe 5 are capable of putting together a couple of games and advancing. All comes down to who gets hot at the right time. Seeding of Teams for tournament: 1-Grace 2-Rockwood 3-Midway 4-Greenback 5-Harriman 6-Tellico

He lives in about every community in our country and his one purpose in life is to criticize high school and youth athletic teams in general and their coaches in particular. These dads usually go into hibernation during the summer, as soon as Basketball is over, so as to rest their tired lungs and voices from all the critical evaluation. You see the long season takes its toll on the poor guy because this Dad involves himself in every play, and in every situation, in every game...... BUT SHAZAAM..... his recuperating powers are amazing and there he is rested and ready to go with visions of walks, errors and strikeouts through his head. As the first game approaches, rest assured Super Dad will be ready. To be a Super Dad you do not need a license or any special training....just a five dollar ticket you can purchase at the front gate. With that five dollar ticket Super Dad now has instant authority, with full rights and privileges, to begin chastising teenage boys, your sons, and their coaches. What an absolute bargain, for just five dollars, he gets to do all that...... by the way.....this cost,,,,, is a heckuva lot less than the price your son, his teammates and his coaches have paid putting this team together. Make no mistake about it though.....no player or coach is immune from Super Dad and there is no way Super Dad could ever be happy with the game, the players, or the coaching. No young player is as good as Super Dad was in his day.... no teams are as good as the teams in Super Dad’s years....and let there be no doubt that Super Dad has forgot more about baseball than all those idiot coaches combined on the sidelines. AND the coaches.....this is where Super Dad really goes to work and enjoys himself. All his frustrations, pet peeves, pettiness, verbal abuse and pure viciousness comes out when talking about that incompetent bunch of Boobs called coaches. It does not matter that the coaches wives and children are in hearing distance. They try to ignore Super Dad.....but it still hurts. BUT wait a minute.....Super Dad paid his five dollars and he believes that entitles him to make any coach and player “fair gameâ€. The stream of criticism continues the entire game and regardless of the outcome......it should have been better.....and it would have been better if not for the incompetency of the coaches. AND.....should our team have been on the short end of the scoreboard...... that just simply proves that Super Dad was right all along and the coaches are incompetent bums and have to go. The saddest part of Super Dad’s performance is the part he saves for the kids after the game..... when a young man makes a mistake in a game..... and they all do.....this becomes an unforgivable sin to Super Dad that takes on catastrophic proportions. He loudly challenges the boy’s skill, courage, intelligence, desire..... and the coach’s stupidity such an inept individual to stay on the team, let alone play in the game. It makes no difference to Super Dad that these are young boys and their coaches simply playing a game they love to the best of their ability......nonsense....to Super Dad this high school game and season has far more meaning.....in his mind it will alter the course of the world, and therefore he demands perfection. Unfortunately yes. #1 Pitcher signed with Memphis #2 Pitcher signed with Tusculum They will also get a couple more players eligible at District Tourney time that are supposed to be the real deal. IMO they won't play a full 7 inn in the play-offs until they reach the Boro. Not a supporter at ALL. Just stating my opinion.

Coach Kefauver and the Seq. players are a class act. Have played against them and watched them. What team is not going to be excited about winning a District Title?? Smokinote=Toolbag

Bobcats--24 Indians--35 Indians take over in the 4th qter. Bobcats play tough, has a big turnover in the 4th qter, and all those bad thoughts creep back in. IMO they are snake bit. Can't shake it.

On the eve of a big game with play-off implications. Gonna hopefully be a hard fought neck and neck type of game. I think both teams are coming in fairly healthy. Look for both teams to pull out all the stops in this one. With GB only having a terrible Harriman team left on the schedule. RW having only Midway(2 wins) and Tellico(1 win) left. RW will ground and pound(Rex Ryan reference) GB will athlete you to death. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Gotta go with the Home team in this one. GB-15 RW-24

Welcome to HS football officiating. The best crew is not that much better than the worst crew. I like the cracker barrel comment. Made me chuckle!!!

Officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of this game. RW came out steamrolling. It was 21-0 before SG got their helmets on tight. I was impressed with SG's athleticism. Moved the ball well at times, then shot themselves in the foot with turnovers. RW played solid. Good win for them after last week.

This one will be close for 2-3 qters. Then the athleticism of OS takes over in the 4th quarter. OZ--38 GB--21

This should be a good test for both teams to get a feel for where they are at. Both teams will run mostly. RW will have their hands full. 4A team on the road. Looking forward to seeing how this one will shake out.

The "joke" is the fact that many coaches across the state don't bother nominating their own kids for the all-state team. In defense of TSWA and TBCA.....they can only form a team on the information that coaches have provided for them. So, instead of downgrading their selections.....voice your complaints to your local HS coaches that don't bother nominating.

Everything that could go bad, did go bad for RW in the 1st qter. Gave up a big pass play for a TD, then fumbled the kick-off. Then I believe another turnover and a 3 and out. Before they could blink, it was 21 or 28 nothing. RW was not the type of team that could come back from that type of deficit. Plus, BB was just better IMO. Had some athletes on both sides of the ball that RW just couldn't match up with. RW probably went as far as they could with what they had. We will see what the future holds for this group.

bigman07....I don't get you. 3-4 weeks ago, you were bashing RW and slurping Grace?? You've been on the RW bandwagon since they beat GCA??? Also: Please don't speak for me, you are in no way articulate or comprehensible enough to convey any underlying meaning to anything I say.

Irony--barking about someone's intelligence while misspelling the word intelligent; or calling someone distasteful while also butchering that word. HMMMMMMM No bragging going on here. Just opinions.....opinions you don't happen to agree with. BTW....2-8 is 2-8. 1-9 is 1-9. and 0-10 is 0-10. No matter how those teams got there, it is what it is. Hampton may wipe the floor with everybody in this quad. Time will tell, I just pointed out some observations of my own.
