  1. Gotta go with the Cats here at home... Greenbrier - 24 Pearl Cohn - 12
  2. This is going to be the game that determines whether we'll be home in a couple of weeks or still on the field. I've got to give the nod right now to Sycamore. The big win over Greenbrier will give the War Eagles the momentum they need to finish off the deal. Macon comes off a shutout loss to Station Camp where they continue to struggle to put up points on offense, averaging less than 6 points a game. In my opinion, Macon's best weapon is Grace's legs and needs to be as an equal and often part of the run game. He is very quick and slippery when he runs with a purpose. Max and the tailbacks are running hard and are having some success, but could be even more effective with another threat out of the backfield. Defense and special teams are playing well enough to win games. It's on offense where Macon struggles. We need all the offensive weapons we can get in the toolbox, ready to be used if we're going to play later in November.
  3. You've heard correctly WarEagle71. The Tigers have played some good ball overall, but can't get anything going on offense. Turnovers are their achilles...something like 9-10 in the past two games, mostly picks from the short pass game. None to few intermediate or deep balls = key the short pass and jump the receiver's route. So Station Camp doesn't really have to worry about the "big" play, there are very few in the playbook. (Just My Opinion)
  4. Good luck Tigers, break out the playbook and mix it up good on Offense. Station Camp's defense plays well against the run. Considerably slowed down a pretty good Greenbrier run game last week. It's gonna take an effort on Defense as well. They were good last year, but I believe the offense is even more dangerous this year with #10 active in the run game and decision making on the triple option. He's very confident with his reads and extremely poised with his pitch. He can also throw it on a rope with accuracy. I can only guess that SC has been improving rapidly since week 0.
  5. I also will have to say Trousdale County's Jared White. I was extremely impressed with Jared from the 1st time I saw him a couple of years ago. Very poised and money in the clutch. He is a weapon all by himself.
  6. Just a suggestion...but maybe something to think about in the off season. But, maybe the Bulldogs should go to a triple option style offense, much the way the service academies have in college football. It is a ball control, high risk, high reward offense but is very hard to stop if run correctly. And if your QB has an arm, play action usually works really well in this setup. I say this because week after week the service academies are usually faced with bigger, stronger, faster talent on the opposing team yet they are capable of winning against almost anyone. (Just ask UT about Air Force) It can be run out of just about any formation; wing-t, I, power I, wishbone, flexbone. When I lived in the midwest quite a few of the high school teams ran this offense. Not many teams in this state run this offense, so defenses don't get to see it much and are not prepared to deal with it. Again it's just something to think about, but it might give RBS an edge. Good Luck on the rest of the season Bulldogs.
  7. Chin up Cats. I think you have a great shot at that last playoff spot if you can put away the War Eagles. Should be a great game.
  8. Congrats to the Bisons on a big win. The Cats played scrappy throughout the game, I think SC just has too many weapons on offense. My first time seeing the Bisons this year, I think they are better on offense than in the past. The QB is a real threat. I don't remember seeing SC including the QB in the run game so much in the past, nor do I remember SC running the option as much as I saw tonight; but wow did it pay off. Some great decision making by #10. The D played well aslo in stopping a pretty good running attack in Greenbrier.
  9. Pretty close there Muffin... I thought this might be closer
  10. Will Squidward save the day?!........no. Station Camp-31 Macon Co-6
  11. This should be a good game. Smith Co is rebounding from back to back losses, and Macon Co has some things to build on in their offense from the last game. But I give the nod to SC, I think they have something to prove to themselves this week and it's down in the hole. Smith Co- 31 Macon Co- 21 Chin up SC fans. Sometimes early losses, while frustrating, can be beneficial in defining the character of a team that will show itself later in the season.
  12. Congrats Bison, region 4 is getting really exciting!
  13. White House - 38 Macon Co - 6 The score wasn't pretty, but my hats off to the Macon coaches. I thought the gameplan was great. I was really impressed with the offensive scheme and the play calling. I thought the boys executed it well and the offense kept the ball moving against a good White House D. Grace was really active in the offensive scheme in the I and the spread and it worked well. We controlled the ball quite a bit and put together some good drives. The turnover bug really hurt to kill some two of those big drives. Credit to the White House secondary for the big hit mid-to-late 2nd quarter to cause the first fumble to stop that drive. That tilted the momentum. Otherwise, it could have been 7-7 at the half. The Tiger D played well also keeping it close in the first half. The Devils Offense did a great job of cashing in on those mistakes. We gotta work on taking care of the ball. Good luck Devils with the rest of your season, it could be your year to get to the 'Boro. I was really impressed Tigers. The team looked very positive tonight. Keep digging gentlemen, the W's are coming.
  14. Looks like about 50/50 on who wins. I'm gonna say, DC-28 SC-27 DC at home on homecoming... It should be a dandy.
  15. Gotta go with the Devils on this one. (love ya Tigers, but I'm a realist) White House has a strong running game, but they could be just as dangerous throwing this year. Agree with the Catfish above, it could be their year to make the run on the gold ball. White House-45 Macon Co-12
  16. I can't believe no one has started this yet... A huge game for most likely the early lead in Reg 4!!! (unless White House stumbles). Homecoming for the Tigers I believe... Lets hear it Tigers and Bisons /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. Just another night in Tornado Alley... Alcoa-52 BTW- 3
  18. OUCH! /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />
  19. Can anyone put a finger on Dekalb's success? (i.e. program has grown and turned a corner, a good group of players, coach's, etc.) I think it's great that they are having a good season, it only makes region 4 that much more exciting. I was just wondering what the difference maker is.
  20. That was a great play call for the situation...executed and worked perfectly.
  21. Alcoa scored 14 quick in the 1st qtr against a very good White House team. And did this in a constant downpour and a using limited playbook. They made very few mistakes and executed like in mid-season form. Only the clock, it appears, would limit how much they would score if they "opened it up".
  22. Cat fans, Does LA still run their option offense?
