  1. Is anyone going to the meeting in Murfreesboro tomorrow? How quick can we get word out on the new Districts. I am most interested in Division II A.
  2. When the ball is already on the ground it is a late hit. The ball hit between the safety and the reciever. The saftey could have pulled up and chose not too. No one will ever win that argument however. When the bus arrived it was made to back up by one of the Boyd people (in a vest with a walkie talkie). The driver then had to made several difficult turns through the streets to get to where he was directed. He was met there by another vested individual who seemed surprised the gate was locked. The driver went where he was told by Boyd personnel and he along with the individuals on the bus were subjected to treatment and language that should not be heard by anyone.
  3. Good luck Westmorland. Boyd has size on its size. They are big and strong. Be aware of the cheap shots they get away with on their home field. Friday night they put a shot on # 4 from DCA on an incomplete pass after the ball was on the ground. Clearly a personal foul not called by the local official. They also like to welcome the opposing team by directing the parents bus through the neigborhood to a gate that is locked. While trying to unload the bus and get the gate unlocked you are cussed out with language I can not repeat by the school's neighbor. A great way to welcome parents and young kids to your stadium.
  4. What is the size of Boyd's linemen?
  5. FACS current record is 7-1 not 8-1 per the TSSAA website. The best they can finish would be 8-1 not 9-1. They are playing only 9 games not 10 according to the FACS website. While they have only one loss, the number of wins is the first tie break criteria leaving all 3 tied with 8 under you set of events. The number of losses doesn't come into play until a later tie breaker.
  6. I apologize. I meant to say East Tennessee not West Tennessee. It would have been nice to have a few more teams like Boyd Buchanon (278 students), Christian Academy of Knoxville (408 students) , Chattanoga Christian (428 students) , .... OF course a few more schools from the Nashville area like CPA and Friendship would have been nice as well. The rules for who plays who for Div II AA E/M were written when they split the teams into regions. If they form big regions for A this year I expect them to do the same requiring 6 region games set by the state office.
  7. You do not have to play every team in your region. They don't now in Div II AA E/M. They play 6 teams as set by the state office.
  8. I thought about the 4 districts idea. With 9 teams in the Memphis area and 2 in Jackson that side could be done. The problem is the rest of the state. You have 6 teams in the Nashville area, 3 in lower middle Tennessee and 1 in Knoxville. To make it work you would have to pull a team or two from the Nashville area and make them travel while not playing teams that are closer to them. Currently you have 8 teams in Div II A and 9 teams on Div II AA E/M. The regions are even bigger in non football sports. There are pros and cons both ways. THis would have been alot easier if some additional schools in West TN had moved to Div. II.
  9. If your receiver has any size you can match him up on the side with the little corner from Goodpasture and should be able to take advantage. If you stop Cunningham on the long runs you will have a chance. Goodpasture will hurt themselves with motion penalties which can help your down and distance. DCA has been in every game this year but hasn't been able to get the play when they need it. They need to prove they can stop the run. Not taking anything away from the competition, I would love to see them play a complete game. Also a lot will depend on who is back from the injury list. They lost their top receiver at Goodpasture in the first half with a concussion. Hopefully the bye week this week will get him back and ready to play.
  10. You are correct in your list. Those are the 9 that I included in the Memphis area. I used a wide definition of Memphis just like I used a wide definiiton of Nashville. The 6 Nashville schools are actually in 4 different counties. Those 6 are: Franklin Road Academy Ezell Harding Davidson Academy Donelson Christian Academy Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Lancaster Christian Academy
  11. Slow down Benji and you can beat Goodpasture. Don't let him break the big run and make them go the distance and they can be beat. Starting quarterback can't throw so if you can match up on the recievers man and stack everyone else to stop run you can beat them.
  12. By my count there are 21 schools that play football in Div II A. How many regions will they put together. You have 9 teams in Memphis, 2 in Jackson, 3 South of Nashville (Columbia, Fatetteville, Sewanee), 6 in Nashville Area, 1 in Knoxville. What do you think?
  13. Friendship has had I know 2 close battles this year. They had to intercept a DCA pass in the end zone with about 2 minutes left in that game to preserve the win. They also had to score in the 4th quarter to beat Watertown by 7.
  14. Week 10 is big for Region 5 just like it is every year. Who wins the Goodpasture vs. CPA game for 1st in the region? Does DCA beat Ezell to lock up the 3rd seed or does Ezell win and we get one of those 3 way ties with DCA, FRA and Ezell. IF we get the 3 way tie who gets the 3rd seed?
  15. Be nice now. You are already in the playoffs as is Goodpasture.
  16. Rain, wet field, cool night, .... Do the conditions favor Goodpasture's running game over the DCA air attack?
  17. Tyner has lost 2 and Boyd 1 and they still have to play each other. I assume given he has Boyd at 9-1 and Tyner at 7-3 he projects Boyd to beat Tyner when they play.
  18. Trousdale County has a great football team and a great tradition. However, check your sources. Satterfield was quoted numerous times in the newspaper pushing for the multiplier to get rid of the unfair advantages held by the private schools. Trousdale County moved to 3A on their own as they didn't have close travel games in 2A. Like I said they have a great program and great teams. I am not taking that from them. One man alone doesn't get Ronnie Carter to do anything. However if you review the quotes and stories form that time, you will find that Satterfield was a major proponent of the multiplier. Once it went into place, Trousdale county moved back down to 1A away from the dreaded privates schools of DCA, CPA, ....
  19. Sometimes you can find a freshman doing well at a small school on the varsity level. Take a look at Collin Johnston a wide reciever from DCA. He is second in the mid-state area with 53 catches totaling 715 yards and 9 TDs. He is doing this drawing a lot of double teams and stanidng only 5'6" while weighing 125. A lot of talent in a small frame.
  20. DCA may get a few kids back who have bee out several weeks with injuries, but can the beaten up rebuilding Wildcats stop the Goodpasture running attack?
  21. If Trousdale County is so good, why did they push for the multiplier to get alot of the privates out of 1A. I never said they didn't do well. I guess not winning every time was enough to scream unfair. In the 5 years prior to the multiplier, the 1A champions were 2004 DCA, 2003 Boyd Buchanon, 2002 CPA, 2001 Ezell Harding, and 2000 CPA. In 2005 all of those schools were pushed to 2A.
  22. Trousdale County has tried to regain its throne as King of 1A by getting the rules changed to favor them. How did they do in those years just prior to Satterfield crying to TSSAA and getting the multiplier put into place? I guess that is why you hate privates so much. You had to change the rules to beat DCA, ... who don't recruit and don' t give financial aide to athletes. Most of the kids have been there since first grade or earlier. When Friendship starts beating you on a regular basis are you going to sream for the multiplier to be raised?
  23. Any word yet on Ezell and Mt. Juliet Christian who were meeting today?
