Clinton's defense played well enough to win this game, but the offense looked bad. Keith didn't start the game, Clinton was actually using a couple different players in the wildcat. Keith came in the 2nd offensive series I believe but he didn't look good at all. He must still be in pain from the AC game. Clinton has the week off this week, so hopefully some of their players can rest up and get healthy. The way this team played against Lenoir City, they don't deserve to go to the playoffs. It looked like they didn't even want to be there Friday night.

I was surprised too. Apparently everyone has thrown in the towel and pretty much given up. So much for this being one of the best teams since 92'.

Lenoir City's offense held scoreless tonight but still get the win against Clinton 14-7. Smh

I don't think he is. I saw a GameDay tweet earlier and it had #5 in it, so I assume #5 will be starting at QB tonight

Those are all very good questions. We will just have to wait and see what our amazing coaching staff has drawn up for tonight. I'm sure they will have something up their sleeve.

They're just gonna have to pull out the ol 4-4 all out blitz from the NCAA playstation games. Lol

So apparently Wilhite, a running back at Lenoir City has 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the season so far. Clinton defense may have their hands full.

I haven't heard anything. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if he starts Friday night. His backup is #5 and he played some against Campbell County and looked pretty good.

AC is playing West at the worst possible time. West will come in with something to prove and wanting to take out their frustrations on someone after losing last week.

I know LC beat Clinton last year. And LC has a better record (4-2) than Clinton this year, but I'm not so sure LC is the better team. Clinton has played a much tougher schedule and I feel like LC would have the same record Clinton has to this point if they had played the same teams. Now LC is probably the better coached team.I would agree with that. I think Clinton has enough talent to pull out the win Friday night, but if they lose, it's probably because they got out coached. Lol

Has anyone heard if Clinton's QB will play against Lenoir City? If so, I think Clinton wins, if not, it will be a lot harder for them to win. Thoughts? Predictions?

That's right. I'm not trying to bash anyone, just pointing out what I see. Some people take this stuff so seriously. I try to remember that it's a game being played by kids. There are more important things to worry about other than high school sports.

The problem with this year's team has to start up front with the offensive and defensive lines. The offensive line doesn't block well enough for us to run the ball and doesn't give our QB enough time to find open receivers and seems like he is always running for his life. Our defense is undersized and just gets pushed around. We can't force any 3 & outs and get our defense off the field. Special teams are not very good. Our kickoffs are short and gives the other teams good starting field position. We can't hit PAT's consistently and I feel like that comes down to the line not blocking like it should, so it seems like we are always playing catch-up. Punting was a little better last night but still not anywhere it needs to be. I don't like to criticize coaches because I wouldn't want their job, but this is what they signed up for and what they chose to do.The football program is definitely in better shape now than it was when Keith took over, but still not where it should be after 4 years. There was a lot of support for Keith when he first showed up but I feel like he has done some things and said some things over the last 4 years that have rubbed some people the wrong way. I don't feel like he represents Clinton in a positive way and isn't the right guy for the job. He's definitely no cute Andy. (Sad face)

You're right, that will definitely help. I hate to say it but I feel like coaching is this teams problem. The only reason why I say coaching is because this team is loaded with talent and still can't win. I know it's got to be just as frustrating for the team as it is for the fans. I know the kids are doing the best they can and that's all anyone can ask of them.

Cleveland never punted. They would go for it on 4th down. West never punted. And I don't think Powell ever punted either.

Does Union County have a good defense and a consistent running game?

The 2 main ingredients to having a successful season, Clinton is missing both. You have to have a good defense and you have to be able to run the ball consistently.
