  1. Oak Ridge! Walking down the bleechers while the crowd sings "Roll, Wildcats, Roll!" We did it once when we played at GP. The crowd got "jacked" and so did the players. One heck of a game as well.
  2. With alot of big games on the schedule for tonight, playoff spots up for grabs, and with weather a possible factor, what team will pull off the upset tonight. Here are a couple: Sevier County knocks off Jeff County. Oak Ridge knocks off Soddy D.
  3. You have to admit splitback, we could have made it happen! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. Grainger 34 Claiborne 11 My hats off to Grainger. the new facility is the best in the region!
  5. I saw the OR - WB game on tv. The OR o-line looks OK but I did not see much from their Def. Line. In fact, they did not do that much and played high. Did not see much technique but it could have just been this game. They look slow on the D-Front. Not a typical OR Def. Front O-Line did very well at times
  6. IT CAN HAPPEN IN COCKE COUNTY! JUST HAVE TO GET THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN THERE AND THEN SUPPORT AND KEEP THEM. Split Back are you ready for the challenge?
  7. Coach called him a monday french stinky ookie boy? Just kidding. If a coach cussed a player in this manner, then he was in the wrong! Big time wrong! My kid would not play for a coach who cussed him in this way.
  8. Things can be turned around at Cocke County HS too. It will take some special coaching staff who understand, not only how to coach X's and O's but who are willing to help build the program from the ground up. Success starts with the feeder programs: little league and middle school. They have a proud history of playing tough hard nosed style of football. With the right coaching staffs, which may very well be there now, on all levels and THE COMMUNITY SUPPORT, Cocke county can return. It would also help if they paid their coach's a salary comparable to surrounding counties. GO COCKES!
  9. As stated earlier, there is a difference between cussing outloud and cussing a player. Some of the greatest Coaches of all time were known to use a few at selected times: Bear Bryant, Johnny Majors, Joe Paterno, Steve Spurrier are just a few that I have heard use a few curse words. There are also some very successful coaches that do not use curse words. Bud Grant, was one. My Coach at Maryville College, Phil Wilks, would not allow his coaches to use foul language. It really depends on the coach and the players. Also geography has a little to do with it. I know in the North and Eastern USA, the words considered "cuss" words in the South are used more frequently.
  10. The event was terrific. BB and Luther and all the wonderful folks in Chattanooga really did a fine job! All the inductees were most deserving. Tim Garrett did a grat job as MC. Next years will be held in Mid-State! We will be there!
  11. Maryville will roll in this one. They are so well coached and are such a good "team" that the players will not allow each other to take games lightly. Maryville 44 S-D 13
  12. Its been good to hear from you guys. Please help spread the word! GO EAGLES!
  13. Nice Uniforms OSHS! Saw the picture on CoachT. Impressive! Hey Splitback HOW ABOUT THOSE GAMECOCKS! The Ole Ball Coach still has it!
  14. The Bears in this one. Last weeks loss should motivate the Bears "Look how good we can be". If this Sevier Co team can play together and play hard for the entire game, they can compete with and beat the schools the have left to play in this regular season. the "Brew Crew" needs to get those guys ready and they will. GO GET THEM LINGO!
  15. All former Seymour High School Football players are invited and encouraged to attend the eagles final regular season game on October 31st. This will be the last regular season game for Head Coach Gary Householder and Assistant Coach/Offensive Line Coach James Cotter. Both of these men have dedicated more than 30 years to Seymour High and the seymour Football Program. We are planning a pre and post game event and we want all former players to take part in. If you are a former football player for the Seymour High School Eagles, please contact Coach Lauderdale at 865-577-7081 or email Coach Lauderdale: darrelllauderdale@sevier.org. You may also contact any of the following former players: Randy Dixon, Shane Hunt, Scott Galyon, Joey Humble, or Gary Stinnett. Coach Gary Stinnett can be contacted at the number mentioned above.
  16. There is a difference between using a curse word and cursing at a kid.
  17. Man, I miss the days when players and coach's just lined up and played and fans supported their teams win or lose. There is no place for all the pre, during, and post game mouthing. This is just one reason why I admire the Maryville football program. they just line up and play. They do everything with class. Hopefully if the Grainger players behaved in this way their coach's will address it on Monday. Good Win Grainger and good luck the rest of the season.
  18. What a good win for Kingston. It seems that very few people gave kingston a chance. Fulton plays AE next. If Fulton loses are they out of the playoffs?
  19. Have to go with the Fighting Irish! Good Luck Charlie! Get the Fighting Irish ready! You all do still call yourself "Fighting Irish" don't you? I know our belived MC has decided to take the "Fighting" out of "Fighting Scots!" Promotes violence? Get real MC! Anway Good Luck ND!
  20. The Bears are dangerous. They have several weapons that can make plays. Bears 28 Tribe 27.
  21. Should be a tough, fun to watch ball game. Toss up that goes to the home team.
