  1. It is certainly going to be interesting to see what the administration decides.
  2. I am not trying to belittle you or scold you for any reason, just simply stating what I read on here. In fact, I think it is admirable that you do not disclose names and/or potential candidates. I think it was irresponsible for the KNS to name the three candidates like they did, for reasons that you have continually stated. As another poster said, we will know when the administration officially announces something.
  3. Good to see some Farragut posters on here. We are few and far between, as of late. Seeing Rusty's name on the list of candidates surprised me because the HTV guy said he talked to him and he was happy at Farragut and that he would not be a candidate. I am guessing he is one of the finalist, not sure though. It is interesting that someone brought up Partin leaving to replace the DC at South Doyle, if that DC at SD were to get the Powell job. Partin was at Powell before he came Farragut the first time and was the DC with Coach Clark Duncan, so I guess I could see that making sense. I would think he is the shoo-in at Farragut when Coach Courtney decides to retire, so not sure why he would want to leave that situation. WIth that said, David Sweetland did leave Farragut for more money teaching, but a far lesser role on their football staff, and I think he was certainly the "Head Coach in Waiting." So, I guess you never know in the world of high school coaching and athletics what coaches are thinking sometimes, but I am sure that they choose what is best for their families and what is best for themselves professionally , THOSE are what is most important.
  4. This is from the Farragut football website: 2015 Varsity Schedule 8/21 @ Powell Panthers 8/28 Gibbs Eagles 9/4 Oak Ridge Wildcats* 9/11 @ Bearden Bulldogs 9/18 @ Karns Beavers* 9/25 OPEN 10/2 Campbell Co. Cougars* 10/9 Knox-West Rebels 10/16 Lenoir City Panthers* 10/23 @ South-Doyle Cherokees 10/30 @ Clinton Dragons* *Denotes Region Game
  5. Just read an article in the Knox News Sentinel about head coaching candidates at Powell. I was very surprised that they released names of those being considered, you would have to think those are their top three candidates. I know that a few weeks ago someone on here said that the Farragut OC would not be applying and was happy at Farragut, then I see his name listed this morning as a "top" candidate. I wonder if he has a real chance at getting the job, maybe someone closer to the Powell community has an idea if there is a real chance that he might be offered the job??? I know he left Farragut for a few years to go to Cumberland Co., but came back to presumably coach his son at Farragut. Now that his son just completed his senior year, I wonder if he is wanting to leave. i know that Powell is his alma mater and that he coached there for a while before coming to Farragut the first time. You would have to think he would love to go back home to his alma mater and resurrect their program.
  6. I was thinking it was somewhere like that, just couldn't recall it. Glad to hear he is staying at Farragut. We looked better and better as the season went on on offense. If we had our QB the Oak Ridge game, I think there is a very good possibility that we win that game, and our season would have been WAY different.
  7. I think they go to vote on it Nov. 13th, so I would imagine they will release something after it is voted on. It would be nice if they released something before, but I would think that is unlikely from the TSSAA.
  8. I know his son was a senior this year at Farragut. He did leave a few years ago to go be a head coach somewhere, but came back, presumably to coach his son. Don't know him real well, so it will be interesting to see if he has some interest.
  9. Good work again here. Looking forward to the Morristown West vs. Campbell Co. Might have to make the trip up to that game.
  10. This looks to be dead right. Its a shame TSSAA drags their feet so long in releasing the brackets. Good job Erik, and thanks for all you for the Farragut program. I have watched the replays all season and have enjoyed every minute of your commentary.
  11. The big middle linebacker??? I ask because on the website he is listed as #55 but has wore a different number the last game or two. If that is him, our defense is in trouble. I was looking at some stats yesterday and he has had 39 tackles in the last two games. He seems to be in on just about every play. Just went it seemed Farragut was finally going to be healthy for a game, it has been one of those season. Jerry, I hate to hear that, has he been playing with one the last few games?
  12. I hope you are right strongx, I would love to see us compete. I just really hope our defense can get a few stops. I also hope that the offense we have had the past three games shows up and not the ones that got shutout. I hope the kids are motivated and ready to play as well.
  13. No problem, don't worry about it. The WF committ usually plays RT. I haven't gotten to see you guys play at all, but I heard that you all have some HUGE DL, I worry about a couple match-ups, especially our LT.
  14. Just looking at the stats on our website, we run the ball about 58% of the time. Starting QB is 116/195 for 1505 and 9 TDs, and he missed 1.5 games with an ankle injury. Starting RB has 219 rushes for 1342 yard and 21 TDs. He was named Soph of The Year by the Knox News Sentinel, FWIW. We have a pretty balanced offense, the O-line is decently sized, probably average 6'2 and 250lbs, just a blind guess. The OL is lead by Nate Gilliam, a Wake Forest committ.
  15. The William Blount situtation is unique. Ridge isn't being pressured to resign or about to be fired. I simply wants to take some pressure off himself and have more free time.
  16. I think that William Blount is going to come open as well after this season. Ridge is an asst. principal/AD plus being the head football coach. That is a lot of responsibility and extremely time consuming. I have heard the will be done and is already in the beginning stages of a coaching search.
  17. As some have mentioned, I don't see why Donovan put Farragut District 2 instead of Knox West, that doesn't make any sense. Knox West is 15 miles east of Farragut. I understand he put this to together for all districts in the state and how easy can be to overlook a few school.
  18. It is my understanding that since Farragut has a short week against Maryville, we only took our Freshmen last night so that the JV kids could practice with the varsity. It was good to see that our Freshmen were able to beat a combined team of JV/Freshmen from WB.
  19. I am hoping to see this be a good game. With all the kids we finally have returning from injury, I think that we can keep it respectable, combine with the fact that George doesn't usually like to run the score up.
  20. Well 91, seems your prediction was wrong. I see you have eaten your crow, I will leave you be.
  21. Got word yesterday that Farragut and Maryville are playing on Thursday night instead of Friday. I just checked our website and it is showing that too.
  22. This is kind of what I am expecting too, atleast from what I have hear. Even though this may be a best guess, we really don't know what the TSSAA will do. They never seem to make much sense with anything they do.
  23. Not so fast my friends...I think Farragut will come out fired up and ready to play ball. I think we jump out early, but William Blount will make it close and will be a good game throughout the second half. My prediction: Farragut 34 William Blount 28
