I will be the first to say that on paper soddy would get beat by 35 but on the field these guys are surprising teams. I dont know if soddy will win or not but I think this team has too much heart right now to get beat by 35. I think this will be a better game than the owls expect. The better team is Ooltewah but that doesnt mean that is who will win. It is at soddy so I think that the owls win by no more than 10. A mistake here and there and I think Soddy will win. Soddy will have to play better on fri but the last 2 games they turned the ball over. If they dont turn it over this could be a 1 possession game. Still think owls win though but I think there are too many people thinking this will be a blow out.

I cant believe the Ooltewah people haven't started this topic yet. I know there isn't that many soddy people on here but the owls usually have tons of people. I don't know if that is because you lost last week or what. Well so the surprise team of the district is Soddy being 2-0 right now and only letting up 7 points a game. This week will be the biggest test for the defense. Ooltewah is always good but can Soddy pull the upset? What do you guys think?

Well considering everyone was talking about soddy going win less i would say they are better than you think. Yes they have beaten 2 lower class teams but no one thought they would at the beginning of the season. I thought it could have just been that both teams, Hixson and RB, are worse than predicted but Hixson dominated a good South Pitt team Fri. Red bank put up 41 points their first game and only 7 the second and I would say they have some speed as well. Maybe the tank will run out when they come apon hard times and disappointments but right now I would say coach Barnes has done one of the best coaching jobs in the city. If the defense shows up again this week and lets up under 20 points i would say soddy may be a contender for a playoff spot. On paper this team is average at best but something happens when the light turn on Friday nights. I think at home the defense keeps it closer than people think and who knows a big play here and there and we are talking about soddy being 3-0.

wasnt able to make the game again but heard they came back in the second half again. I know they won but how good did they look? What players stood out?

Hey guys so i have heard different things. Is the game this week on thurs or fri?

I underestimated soddy last week but I think they come out fired up and ready to play again. It will be close at half time but I think soddy wins by 2 tds. I will say they need to come through with extra points. I have just seen too many soddy games lost by a few points and everyone will be huge vs a rival.

It was no disrespect to soddy. I dont think very many fans looking in on the program saw them dominating hixson in the second half. Just expected hixson to be ready to play. Hope they come out the same way vs red bank.

I cant believe some picked us to win tonight from the TFP. I mean I hope we win but they have hixson as a top 10 team in the area and there is no way that we are. Well time to see if they can pull a decent season off and it starts tonight. I think 35-14 Hixson.

Has anyone heard how things are going? I know that we may not have enough talent to win district but is there anyway they surprise any of the top teams? I talked with one of the players and he seems to have them working out more but has he changed anything else?

Sdfootballfan did you read anything he has said. He said he knows this through the threads that have been posted about us. It isnt hard to know what is going on you all put it on here. He is a coach that just cares. He is trying to give you all some advice because he knows if coaches come on here there is no way they will want the headache for the pay. I am an alumni of sd and am not saying orr should have been allowed to stay. All i am saying is there is a reason why most coaches do well the first year but go downhill for afterwards. See weathers. he was 8-2(not to mention a playoff win) his first year had tons of kids wanting to play. But the next year I think he went 6-4 or 5-5 and he couldnt get kids to play anymore. If slaughter stayed past one year i bet it would have been the same. You say that making the playoffs is all you want but it isnt true. Lets say if we did get a coach that could win and went 7-3 or 8-2 for a couple years. Then 6-4 is unacceptable. Most of the conplainers on here may go away for a while if they start winning but that only last for a little while. See les miles at LSU if you dont think so. In saying all that i dont see how a good coach is going to leave his good job to come to sd. I just hope with this change that we can start supporting our next coach.

also you cant get almost 2000 yards and not have a good line. Just look at alabama right now they have last years heisman winner and the best back up in the nation but they cant run the football right now because of their line. I am not saying soddy will win but dont think you guys are just going to run on the field and win. If soddy is able to get turnovers look for this game to be close not a blow out like everyone thinks.

Yes we lost to Science Hill by 3. It was the worst game we played all year but dont for a second think we are the same team from week 0. If you saw anything of that game you would know we gave it to them more than 1 time. It couldnt have been that bad of a lose though because Science Hill made the playoffs.

I would say we have a great running back but you can decide that for yourself. He has about 1900 yards. He is for sure the best back in the Chatt. area. He is only a soph. also. Ask Lincoin County how good he is. He is hard to tackle. You can stop him for a little while but if it is a tight game then he is almost impossible to stop in the 4th. If soddy can keep it close then I see Soddy winning this one. Soddy does start slow sometimes though so riverdale might put it out of reach in the 1st half.

I agree the system this year is wrong. But it is what it is. You have to deal with it. Everyone knew that to have an automatic bid into the playoffs you had to finish 1st or 2nd. Soddy didnt and neither did rhea. I cant believe I am hearing you guys had a tougher schedule. Yes hixson isnt a good team but they are rivals. Red bank is a good team, they blew out Cleveland, and they are also our rivals. Everyone knows rival games are harder. Bell Co. is better than any team rhea faced. And Science hill is also good. the truth is the only team sd lost to that is a playoff team is rhea. The only team rhea beat that is a playoff team is soddy. Yes you finished 3rd in distict but soddy played and beat better teams than rhea did.

I agree if you want a sit down place goto steves landing. But if you want less expensive and like sandwiches the best place to go is the sandwich shop. It is my favorite place to eat in soddy.

Well I agree this was a problem last week. But it did show the coaching staff was paying attention. They were loading the box and playing man to man out side. the deep pass was open but card just couldnt throw it last week. my question is why do we only have one run play. Why do we always do a rb draw up the middle. Cedrick has speed why dont we ever do a toss. Teams see that it is the only run play we run so they eventually stop it. We will have to complete some deep passes this week to win. If not they will put 9 in the box and you cant run against that all the time.

I think sdtrojan was giving more of a complament to reah co. It was so well written and researched that he was wondering if he got it from a newspaper. I am a soddy guy and I will tell you I have never seen someone so devoted to the fans to spend that much time, for the fans. I say for the fans because the players also study film and stuff. What I think impressed me the most is he didnt only give out numbers, he gave names. Did I hear he isn't on the staff/ doesn't get paid for this?

How has Reah's run defense been this year because that is what soddy is going to come out and do. CE is one of the better running backs that i have seen this year. If soddys line is able to push your d line around then it may be a long game. If it gets into a shoot out though reah has the avantage because soddy has been known to miss some XP. I think soddy wins by 6 because they will be able to control the clock and shorten the game.

After Soddy beat ootewah earlier in the season I thought this game was going to be for the district title but it isnt as exciting of a game. Soddy has lost 2 strait. Can they get back on track. Does anyone know if Card will be back. We are going to need him for the final few games.

wow that is a bold pick 17 points. I am a soddy fan but I dont think we will beat rb by 17. Red bank is young but still has tons of talent. If soddy's line looks as good as they did to ooltewah then i think they win but i will only take them by 6. Oh also we need to improve on our kicking game might need it this week.

What media are you talking about? Yes they may be the favorite on here which is a fans website but times free press has 8 out of 9 people picking ooltewah. I know you may just be doing this for motivation but if your boys need motivation for a soddy game then there is something wrong. Oh and there are only 3 soddy guys on here anyways. And i am just a grad from there. I dont know much inside the program.

I cant believe most of you think ooltewah is an underdog. Yes soddy is a good football team but soddy has been beat. Yes soddy can beat them but in no way would i say ooltewah at home is an underdog.

Does anyone know if smith will be back this week for soddy? Soddy showed that it can end drives but the kicking game has to improve. I also didnt like all the dropped balls last week. This is Soddy best chance to break the L streak. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it has been 9 years since Soddys last win. Gonna be a tough one going into the nest.

Ya when we wasted 30 seconds off the clock I thought maybe they were playing for ot bc our offense wasnt ending drives. I dont think the coaching staff knew waht it wanted to do there. IF you waste 30 seconds off the clock then why not just put it into ot. So all I heard from the paper and other things is that Smith was going to play both sides and come in on special plays to be a WR. Does anyone know why he didnt play WR. I hope that things are improved this week bc Ootewah is in a week and they looked real good last friday.
