No offense but Munford is really poor, and that's being kind..4 turnovers and 10 penalties...N'East is a team you put 63 or so on earlier yet reduced your offensive input by 4-5 tds. You need to wake up and smell the coffee! In a run for a state playoff you, must be injury free, have the ball bounce right and find a way to win on a night when you don't have your "A" game. Lot of things have to happen to bring home the crown! Just unhook the cart and put it behind the horse where it belongs!!!

The Fairley teams you played several years back do in no way compare to the team you will see Friday. This team would run circles around Fairley. You will not be able to simply concentrate on stopping 1 thing..either the run or pass, for R'Way does both and can score both ways. Add the threat of big plays in the kicking game and I say again..You will need to have an outstanding defensive effort to win. Henry's performance against Munford and then N'East should cause rise for concern!

Doesn't sound like the Red Warrior of old...generally was far less boastful and has not reminded anyone of the fact that he is a former coach of some 30 years...That being said..Henry best be well prepared to play a group of exceptional athletes, particularly in the skill positions. Your defense must be complete for R'Way will stretch you horizontally and vertically. They will run at you and around you, throw short and deep. I am amazed at such little respect you are giving them. You better remember.."It happens to someone every Friday, Saturday and Sunday!" Won't be surprised if it happens to you!

Da Haven got out of the quarters for the first time in history last year..Must be something that keeps the most talented team, year in and year out from making the trip to the big dance! When this happens, you might pick up some respect!!!

I vividly remember 08 when H.C. went to Memphis to play Melrose at Melrose..Game was decided when Melrose went for two with no time left for the win and missed. Playoffs are a differnet animal. Have to be concerned when facing athletes..coached well or not!

East is simply a "big play" team! The thing you must guard against (as always) are turnovers..turn the ball over and let them make a couple of big plays, and you'll have a tussel. One thing that is unusual about this East team is the fact that unlike other city teams, their kicking game is pretty good..KO's into the end zone, good snapper and punter, and place kicker..range about 40 yds. Must guard against the big play against this bunch! Ridgeway, and I'll say this again..Is playing exceptionally well right now! Backs are healthy and can fly! Defense is quick and secondary is sound. Only question mark is...how much have they improved their special teams?..Oops..make that, do they have any this year? (last year they had none).Should be interesting!

Take note of this!!! Ridgeway started slow but against some "heavyweights"! For the last month, they have been playing extremely well! Two starting backs are D1 committments, good size up front, run to the ball good defensively and have made improvement to the kicking game. (If they had even average special teams last year, they would have had a great chance of bringing home the gold). I think that the Roadrunners will not fall victim this year to the ole "those that do not learn from the mistakes of the past, are dommed to repeat them in the future." East has two outstanding backs and one excellent receiver. Defense is suspect. If this plays out as it should, Henry will be meeting Ridgeway in the quarters. JMO

I think the best explanation I have heard was a segment from ESPN's "Boys of Fall." Mack Brown..."Football is a different game. You take a young man, put him in the dirt, have him keep a flat back with neck bowed and teach him to drive a man 15 yds into the endzone when it's 1000 degrees. There's just no NICE way to teach that!" This was followed up with a comment from Bill Parcells. "Over the years, I've said some things that perhaps all segements of society might not find appropriate...but, I'll tell you this..When a young man comes back to see you 10 years later and thanks you for all you taught him, you realize that you made a positive impact on that young man's life!" Nope..the people so incensed over a coach's comment in the lockerroom are the same ones that sat in the stands and never looked into the stands from the field. They just don't have a clue!!

All you have to do is review the conduct of the Trezevant football team at the State Championships and look at the results....Supt.stated the punishment was not warranted and defended the coaching staff and players. Look at the number of white football and basketball coaches in Memphis in the public schools...you can't find a single football coach and there may not be a single basketball coach..Tell you something! Memphis is what it is!

Don't need to hear anything about recruiting by private schools by any public school backers here. Kimbrough and about another quarter of the East team transferred to East! Also...compare transfer forms submitted to the TSSAA from public schools and private schools...8 to 1 ration..in favor of the public schools. Let's just talk football!

MUS wins this one! MUS must have improved linebacker play or East's stud tb will have a big night. East on the other hand looks suspiciously vunerable in the secondary...Not real impressed with the play of the corners! MUS'S only advantage in the kicking game is with fgs greater than 30 yds. East is not in the same position Rway was last year with no kicking game whatsoever...Punter is pretty good and kickoff is deep. Difference will come down to turnovers and whether East really feels like they can beat MUS. Can't remember how long it's been since they did. Either way...OWLS celebrate tonight with a win over unbeaten EAST! Book it!!!
