Thank you BarcaFan, someone who finally sees the question, rather than just berate the questioner. So, the question still remains why don't those teams move up or go to DII? (For those who don't know where DeKalb Co. is, its between Lebanon and Cookeville on interstate 40. The largest city is Smithville. The entire county population is 18,000 which is less than 4 sq. mi. surrounding Chatt. Christian) As for "TheFactsOnly" we certainly don't have a "whoa is me" attitude as you can see by our scheduling, we play the hardest teams we can outside of our district to prepare, and when we do win we will know how hard it has been to get there.

you guys are completely missing my point, I am not complaining about being beat, and they are an excellent team. Which leads to my point, they are an excellent team with obviously a better pool of atheletes to draw from, so why don't they, and other urban private schools with such population density to draw from, move up and play public schools with simmilar opportunity? I am definitely not complaining about losing, they are the returning state champs, and for good reason. As for the other public schools in our District that draw from the same populations, if our JV scores 8 goals on them because they don't even try......

Rural public DeKalb County again faced the Chattanooga Private bullies. Chattanooga Christian played a great game last night, and physically out matched Dekalb. Chattanooga Christian is a soccer powerhouse. My only question is, why do they keep playing A-AA instead of going DII or moving up to AAA. Do they really get satisfaction from beating up on smaller rural public schools?

Doesn't it really depend on who's playing? If the freshman are playing against someone's varsity it's different than when a D-1 scholarship player scores her 9th goal with 3 assists to make the score 12-4.

14-0 does seem unsportsman like, however everyone on the team played and we removed a forward to add a defender. I asked my team to play as hard as they could to keep our momentum going, because I feel that if a team slows down their play, they can get into bad habbits. Also, there was no negative attitude between the teams during or after the game. It seems that every year some team gets belittled for a high scoring game, but I just want my team playing at their best throughout the post season. Sorry, if I offended anyone.

DeKalb Co. moved their Playday to this Saturday, March 12th, due to weather and needs one more team. It will be 5 teams each getting 4 (30 min.) matches. If interested contact Coach K @ kleparekd@k12tn.net ASAP.

As the Coach of rural public DeKalb County Soccer, I have seen a great level of disparity in my nine years coaching both girls and boys soccer. We started out making it to region competition to face Portland and then Station Camp (who was a much bigger school thus the move to AAA) and then when the reclassification came along we thought we had a chance at going further than Region Semis. However we were moved to face CCS and ND another group of perennial powerhouses. As far as how much work we put in, we practice, play, and condition every allowable min. Although I feel that we have enjoyed success, generally or goal is just to make it to Region Semis, knowing that the competition goes (state champions) from there. But, all that being said, how sweet it will be when we finally beat them. I am working as hard as I can to see that it happens. Congrats to Coach Schermerhorn and the rest of the Lady Irish, you run a classy program.

Anybody know the score between York and Friendship?

wow, I can't believe this post has been allowed to stay on the boards. Anyway, here's a great one we had recently. Offside called on a corner kick on the first touch, so I yell to the ref that a player can't be offside on a corner kick and he says "oh, I'm sorry" and gives a redo. Or, the ref that cussed me out at a preseason game (for arguing a call that he than called) later gives a straight red to my player who cussed himself after missing a shot? That being said, it is a good thing that we have refs or we couldn't play at all.

DeKalb @ Smith moved to 4/26. Smith had academic banquet?

Wow, Livingston put a beating on White Co. last night. White Co. did look good, but not as good as I thought they would be. Livingston has a pretty solid defense for a 3-5-2 and aggressive forwards, but it seemed like their midfield was stronger last year. Good game though.

Did Livingston and Lebanon play yesterday?

DeKalb Plays York tomorrow. Any predictions? Has anyone played York yet?
