  1. Hope the ND Goalie makes a speedy recovery. Saw her getting taking off by ambulance. Best of luck tomorrow.
  2. From Chattanooga Baylor 2 Hutchison 0 GPS 3 ECS 2
  3. St. Agnes 5 Hutchison 1 Well played by St. Agnes.
  4. Maybe it told me that it was a team void of senior leadership and consisted mostly of 8th graders and freshmen. Not to mention a schedule that saw very few give me games.
  5. Pretty good summation. Could have gone either way. Both teams gave up a bad goal each. ECS had appeared to score another in the second but it was negated by a foul against their team. Game winning goal came with 3 to play on a great play by two seniors.
  6. You act like Hutchison is void of good coaching or any good players. They lost seven 1 goal games last year and returned everyone.
  7. Did you see this game? Both Huchison and ECS are playing in Chattanooga this weekend at the Baylor tournament. I was curious to get a scouting report. Yes, I was there. Scouting Report: Two well coached teams with plenty of athletes and experience.
  8. Per TSSAA, MUS has 828 students. Christian Brothers has 1,778 Those numbers are doubled because they are a single sex high school. Their actual enrollment is 1/2 of that number. I did hear that ECS total enrollment is down some 20-30% this year. Not sure how that will play out as far as football. I would have to guess that ECS or USJ would be 1, followed by the other, then St. Georges
  9. In accordance to TSSAA, a HS player transferring from one HS to another would have to sit out unless they meet the approved transfer requirements to be eligible. If they move prior to going to that HS or having an athletic record at that HS, then they would be eligible. So even if the City of Memphis allows them to change schools via there Open Zoning, the student's athletic eligibility would still be determined based on TSSAA rules. Is the answer you were looking for?
  10. So you basically want the TSSAA to interfere with the evolution of Sport? We are not talking about a Rec league here. We are talking about competitive High School sports. You want to know why the kids that don't play club do not make the team? Its because the other kids are practicing more! If there is a kid who is good enough to beat out the other kids without playing club, then I highly doubt the coach will keep them off the team for a lesser player on the basis of not playing club.
  11. Great statement! This is what is being over looked by those complaining on this. Like I mentioned in the related thread, Memphis City school also have the open enrollment policy.
  12. You just told someone to consult the TSSAA rules, but you are the one that might need to revisit them. You said that non faculty coaches have to have a sponsoring teacher, but according to the rules, this is not the case. You can refer to page 8, section 9, part C in the TSSAA Handbook for this clarification. I really think that your rant above was off base. IMO, you missed the whole point of bruinbabes comments. You said that Louisville had nothing to do with this topic, but it sounds to me that it does. She was only using it as a basis to her point. The point being, IMO, that they used a system of putting their kids into the clubs and getting their clubs into the school. The only difference in Louisville is that a club coach can follow his club team straight into the HS season and vise versa. In TN, a club coach who coaches in HS can not coach his HS kids during the club season. She is absolutely right when she says that it is only the teams (and booster club) business what the coach is being paid. Money will surely help a team, but it certainly does not make a team. If Brentwood were scraping the bottom of their district, nobody would care what they paid an outside coach, but because they are a perennial powerhouse, everyone wants to point a suspicious finger at them. For example, nobody cares that Baylor pays their football coach over 6 figures, plus a house, etc. because they have not been relevant lately, but if they came out this year and started winning, everyone would be up in arms.
  13. Yep. This is not the case with the county schools though. Only the city schools.
  14. Kids in Memphis City Schools are allowed to do this as well. What is there to challenge? If they transfer, they will have to sit out anyway. It is no different than a kid that travels across town to a private school. You should also realize that the school districts that do this are not doing for athletic reasons. The TSSAA is simply a governing body for TN HS athletics, not everything TN HS do.
  15. Brunetti - QB - MUS McBride - RB - MUS Acosta - K - CBHS Darkwa - RB - Ensworth just a few
  16. I would be more interested in knowing why their coach kept hugging them during their matches and calling them names like honey, sweetie, darlin, and girlfriend.....from where I was sitting, it felt a little creepy and was the unpleasant talk of several of the parents and other players around.
  17. Careful What You Say: After today's final, Webb players said that Hutchison comments on Thursday made for good locker room bulletin board material and incentive for victory. Leavell-Donoghue, when walking past the Garcia's after the semis, were heard commenting that the finals would be much easier than the semis. The Hutchison tandem rallied to defeat Caitlin Casey-Samantha Lewis (Harpeth Hall), 2-6, 7-6, 6-2, in the semis. This is garbage. You can not seriously print this crap. You have a kid who ease drops on an opposing team's conversation and puts some serious spin on it to try and get recognized. If you want to try and paint some kids in a negative way, why did you neglect to mention how the one of the sisters threw a royal temper tantrum during the team final, receiving a code violation after throwing her racquet and screaming at her opponents and nearby fans.
  18. Hutchison wins D2 AA Girls Championship 4-1 over Knoxville-Webb! Go Sting! Congrats to USJ!
  19. No worries. Thank you for your coverage.
  20. Hutchison instead of Hutchinson. The Sting are 13-0 on the season.
  21. I saw a player (a male) from that same school almost get tossed out of the state tournament last year for taunting two girls of the opposing team their girls were playing.
  22. He turns 19 in his Senior year, but well after the cut of date to be ruled ineligible. he is now ranked as the #1 Ranked Dual Threat QB in the latest Rivals Rankings.
