Would be interesting I think for the talent to be listed here and where they are most likely going ?

Just curious as to what were the base offensive and defensive schemes used by the State Champions this year as well as the runner-ups. "jimmy and joe's" always come into play but I figured this would be an interesting topic for discussion if anyone is willing to post.

The Cougars are a very "junior heavy" bunch. Haven't heard much about Arlington but I would have to assume they are a solid team given their record and the teams that they play. Should be a great ball game. From what I have read looks like they are a passing team. How will the rain that is coming in effect the bunch out of Memphis ? Good luck to both teams.....but more to my young Cougars !

Since they won are they in and someone else out ?

Again....Friday night was a execellent display of two communities that love their schools...great crowd support, hard-nose competition, and mutual respect, hand shakes, and well wishes afterwards! Congrats to the Cougars on a great season....good luck in Week 11! You are exactly right. Congrats on having a GREAT season. My hopes for HC is a championship in cookeville....you guys are due. No harm intended with previous post. You guys by far are a championship caliber team. Best of luck.

Here is my elaboration. To answer a previous post....I'm not whining. If you can't stop them then so be it. I also believe at that point in the game the starters should be in there but what I don't understand is why pass with 2 minutes left in the game. You guys could have run the clock out with your running game or scored a td with your running game. It seemed to me it was a little lack of class up 17 throwing a pass with two minutes to go in a game that was over. I personally don't care. I thought the cougars played pretty well and the final two minutes doesn't matter throwing a pass or not. I do believe if your qb blew a knee on that play.....the Henry faithful would be all over your coach. Just my opinion......take it for what it's worth.

cougars played well last night. Looked to have brought a good game plan to Paris. 14-6 at half with all momentum going to DC. Fumble to begin second half was a killer. Henry running game took over in second half. The atmosphere was incredible very comparable to a college game. I was very proud of our cougars. Hopefully pats and cougars represent 10 AAA well in the play offs. One question though for pats.....why did they keep their starters in on offense with 2 minutes to go in game and then threw a td pass ? Looks like a big risk for a state champion hopeful doesn't it. Did the coach have the pats and 23.5 to cover a line ?

QB Club Prez you make me wish I was suiting up for a game tonight! Reading through all of the posts about tonight's game has got me pumped. No one is giving the Cougars a prayer but exactly what would happen to the Henry "faithful" if they were to somehow lose tonight. A lot of confidence (cockiness) by supporters saying they don't see a real opponent until the third or fourth round. Seems like it would be devastating to a team with all this hype ! Clock running in the 2nd quarter ? 45-0 at halftime ? What if......

The Cougars took another win Friday night in an exciting fashion. Three overtimes is what it took to beat a team that Henry County must have taken three minutes to beat. Henry County defense must be the real deal as all other schools in district 10 are scoring many points except when they face HC. I have a bad feeling about Friday's game but hey....you never know until they play the game. Hope to eat some catfish on my way to the game in the log cabin. Is that place still open ? Looking at the scores throughout the season you would have to assume that DC will get whipped just like everyone else. A nice rivalry throughout the years that does seem to go in cycles with the current cycle keeping the barrel on the west side of the river ! DC is still very young this year and the district being very weak has helped them be successful so far this year. With that being said the scores Henry is putting up offensively is incredible and the defense is only giving up second half points according to posters with their jv players. Quite possibly is the best team Henry has ever put on the field....Take it easy on the young cougars patriots ! Hopefully there will not be any serious injuries on either side of the ball so both teams can do well in the playoffs this year and represent the district in high fashion.

Ok HC is most assuredly the best looking team in District 10 but lets not toot our horn too much on schedules and wins over opponents. Best I can tell the combined record of the opponents HC has played is 11-22. The records of the teams DC played is 11-22. Both teams play the same teams in district so both schedules are pretty weak so far. District 10 is not as strong as it has been in the past. Northeast, Clarksville, Henry County and Dickson County seem to be the better teams in the district while the others are really struggling.

This game was pretty much dominated by Dickson County. I would be surprised if Springfield had 100 yards of offense. I heard at the game their starting QB was out. That could obviously make a difference for anyone. Pretty hard hitting game that looked to me like it got a little "chippy" in the last quarter as the refs looked to call both teams in to settle them down. Believe it or not both teams prayed together when the game was over! Pretty cool sight for any sporting event regardless of the level. Good luck to the jackets on the rest of the season. The cougars played very well on defense and the offense seemed to keep the ball most of the game. DC schedule is getting tougher.....we will see what the future holds for the young cougars!

Did the University of Henry County take out your QB ? Hopefully that's a bad rumor. Thanks for clearing up the debacle. The 2 point play was what you were referring to.....I was close by the gates at the end with security and heard a lot of moaning by coaches. Now I remember what you discussed. As mentioned early...should be a hard fought game and turnovers will definitely play a huge part in the scoreboard. Good luck to both teams !

Last year's debacle? I was at that game what debacle ? DC has played a weak schedule except for Columbia. It has worked this way since the inception of the new district. The meat of their schedule is on its way! DC is very young but athletic as is Springfield from what posts I have read. Should be a hard hitting affair but how does Springfield bounce back from a pounding the University of Henry County gave them ?

Basically it's a rare thing but in this case it was no shock for teams in this district. Very high level of competitive play in district ten aaa. I would assume it's a rule for common sense purposes. Why would four teams from one district in the Clarksville area travel to Gallatin to finish playing a tournament ? It is more than likely in a set of by laws within the region if a sweep occurs then the highest seed would host the new site. Just for info only...northeast has a player that will be a first round draft choice in the NBA. He's definitely worth watching and by the way he's on the 3rd seed team from this district !

High School AAA 1523 1472 Being a Dickson County follower I have to bring up these numbers. The Metro schools has not turned in their numbers but I used 08 numbers for comparison purposes. According to the TSSAA web site here are the numbers for enrollment for the next two years. Now granted Dickson County does only play 1 6A school but they are in a 9 team district which has only 1 6A school. Out of these 9 teams 6 schools made the playoffs with Northeast still alive. For Dickson County it's not like the good ole days of having 2000 + kids to choose from as Creek Wood changed that a few years back. Some schools will have more D1 signees this year than DC has had in its 38 year history. As you can see Dickson County is at the bottom of the barrel for enrollment in the middle tennessee area. Rural community where economy has closed down several local industries (jobs) which is the main reason families move to or stay away from certain schools. They are closer to 5A numbers than 6A numbers enrollment wise. Not sure what others would do but non district games are Columbia(still in 5A playoffs) and Creek Wood (county rival and big gate which no school in TN would turn down the opportunity for a big gate for another game) For all of you who think DC should do something different... what would it be?

Foozeball will get his wish if DC plays like they played in their last 2 games. Know absolutely nothing about collierville but if they made the playoffs then they must be pretty good. Watched the cougars a lot this year it will depend on which team shows up ! Hopefully DC wins in a tight one !

Gotta give HC credit. I went to the DC vs HC game. Just as a previous poster posted (who I can't remember who it was) HC will dominate DC he was so right. I have been a DC fan for quite some time. We were so weak looking compared to HC. Now granted DC played poorly with all of the turnovers but HC wins that game most every time the way I see it. To me this HC team is better than the teams I have watched in the last 3 or 4 years and should wreac total havoc in the playoffs regardless of who they play. The only thing I would be concerned with would be the pass defense. DC rarely throws but they seemed to hit some decent plays in the passing game. get that worked on and who knows how far they can go. Rossview will be slaughtered come Friday night....they are awful!

From a trusted source who really has no dog in the hunt...here is what happened and then someone can be the judge of class. Large black guy tried to start a fight with a DC player after the game as players are shaking hands. Assistant Coach at halftime came up to number 32 Bo Brown and told him he wasn't sh%$ ! Assistant coach on the top of the press box threw a chair against a wall. Some crazy parent from Springfield ran on to the field and cussed at referees. Things that make you go hummmmmmmmm. Maybe my source isn't telling the truth but WOW if he was !

Springfield actually might have been the better talented team but they were outclassed. There was little to no class by players as well as coaching staff and apparently fans as well according to the posts I have read here. If they could focus more on the game rather than the refs they might start winning again. DC had fewer turnovers and fewer penalties and that normally wins games. Crying and whining are normally common traits that the losers of a game possess. Its time to move on jackets fans and focus on finishing strong for the playoffs.

Northeast is loaded on defense this year with 8-10 starters back from last year. My guess is Springfield will have a tough time here.

Well DC looked pretty good against the Warriors but I would dare say Brentwood is a whole different beast. Hopefully the Cougars will play as they did against HL and make a game of it. GO DC !!!
