  1. That is probably a great guess! Hmmmmm what parent/coach could you be refering to??
  2. Why of course YOU ARE the best Umpire!!!! There someone said it?? Now please let this thread DIE It is truely terrible
  3. This story sounds all too familiar... to last year...."EVERYONE that makes us good is hurt right now...early in the season"... "BUT when it matters we will be 100%" Does it seem like the same result is on the way??
  4. Your Right "Slappy" it is early! But it is NEVER too early to make predictions!! Why don't you enlighten me as to how you "think" I'm wrong here on this matter? Class A....who is going to stop GRACE?.... Cornersville?? Maybe, they may be the best contender...East Robertson??? doubtfull!!NOPE!! Who Then? Class AA.... Who is Going to stop Chattanooga Central?? Gibbs? maybe a top contender?Unicoi? doubtful!Camden...NOPE! Covington??NOPE!! Goodpasture??? Not a chance!! Them folks down at the CREEK?? NOPE! Well then just WHO? Class AAA....Who is going to stop Soddy????? Riverdale??.....Yep your right NO ONE!
  5. Right now it is looking like Chattanooga could make a “sweep†across all 3 classifications & take all 3 “State Championships†home to Chattanooga in Yellow Ball this year! Last year Chattanooga took 1 of 3 with the other 2 going to the “west†leaving the “Middle†with ZERO. I don’t see the west taking anything home this year & the “Middle†will get blanked again…. Class A- Grace Baptist Almost had it last year & it will be a shocker if they don’t win it all this year! Class AA- Chattanooga Central- These ladies have been there & have some good experience at the “Boro†& will be very difficult to get past for anyone else in AA. Class AAA- Soddy Daisy- Just don’t see anyone taking this away from them.
  6. No one really cares??? Yea there are some good players on DII teams but still no one cares?? Even at the "Boro" you rarely see the few college coaches that are there watching games watching any of the DII games..... might be someting to it??
  7. Cornersville does have a UT Vol "signee" But Grace Baptist has the "Best Pitcher" in class A this year!
  8. Don't really worry much about the DII teams. But it is highly unlikely That Trinity or Camden makes it back here to the "Boro"
  9. These are "The Ball Experts" picks that are most likely to return to the "Boro" this year! Class A- Grace Baptist(Who will win it all) South Fulton Friendship Christian Will be the first year in a long time that neither Forrest or Trinity make it to the "Boro" Class AA- Unicoi Covington Geenbriar Chattanooga Central They "Reining Champs" won't be back this year but I have a feelin that them folks from Goodpasture might! Class AAA- Soddy Daisy ( Will repeat as champs) Riverdale Collierville This will also be the first year in a while that Beech will not make it to the "Boro"
  10. "Mr Jefferson" I guess you haven't really noticed but no one really care's about the DII state tournament. I guess maybe I could allot some time to check out some stats on the DII schools & put on here for every one to see how good they are............ oh here is one.....Teams that played in the DII championship games regular season record against teams that played in the DI championship games- 0 for 6 combined against these DI teams. This is a fitting comment by a "t-ball expert"..............DUMB. The 0-6 record includes four losses to SD. Even the AAA bridesmaid was 0-2 for the year vs. SD. For that matter, every team in the entire tournament was 0'fer against SD during the regular season and state tournament. Some of them facing SD #2 pitcher (Riverdale and title game vs Beech). The DII AA teams had great years and GPS deserves credit for winning a ring. These schools will play anybody any day. "capt kirk" your right they do deserve that ring! Maybe the T$$AA should allow all the inner city schools to form their own division like those rich schools have done so those kids have a better chance at a state title too? This would also allow the T$$AA to make even more money which seems like what the T$$AA is the most concerned about anyway!
  11. well 2011 is a long what off but here is 2 predictions you can take to the bank! GPS & Baylor will play for the DIIAA championship, Davidson Academy & USJ will play for the DII A Championship..... There is no other competition to keep them out of it!!!! As for DI there are some favorites.... but have to get thru too many good teams to get there to make a prediction this early:thumb:
  13. Wow….. What a state tournament we had this year!!If you didn’t get your monies worth it’s only because you didn’t bring enough because the T$$AA was willing to take everything you had. From the HIGH cost of admission to the parking lot attendants now charging for parking to the high cost of food at the concession stand they were trying every way they could to get into our wallets & get your money!! With all that aside we did get to see some great games this year! I truly believe that softball in this state is on the rise. The level of play is getting better every year, some of these players that we were able to see this past week are truly fun to watch! Pitching was good, Hitting was good & I saw some great defense being played on some of the fields! The level of competition between all three classifications was amazing! I can remember a day when AAA was head & shoulders above AA & A as far as talent goes but that gap appears to have closed. With 2 of the 3 titles going to the West Tn. Area it appears that those folks from the west side of the river have been working hard at this game we all love. AAA- Soddy is back! Congrats to them on a great year! This team proved just how deep they are by losing their ACE & having another in the stable to come in & wrap this tournament up for the team AA- Camden! Not a big surprise for this team to win the title. One of the best all around players on the field just seemed to take control of things on the field during this tournament to get past another very good team from the other side of the river. A-Trinity! Not a big surprise here either but had to fight thru a very good Grace team who was not going to give up without a fight. Led from the circle with some impressive defensive play behind her. ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM FROM THE FINAL 6 TEAMS! Soddy- Alex Everett ss Soddy- Brandi Lasley 3b Soddy- Tori Denayer P Soddy- Kelsey Nunley P Beech- Heather Montgomery LF Beech- Kayla Toney ss Beech- Alex Banks P Camden-Amanda Brandenburg P Camden- Heather Kee rf Camden- Laiken Kelly 3b Covington-Autumn Glenn 3b/p Covington- CJ Browder ss Covington- Sarah Cousar p/3b Trinity- Ellen Renfroe p Trinity-Hailey Elliot c Trinity- Summer Cross 2b Grace-Lacye Walker p Grace-Bethany Cowart cf Grace-Kaitlyn Eldridge ss I hope everyone has a great “T”ravel ball season!!
  14. Looks like Soddy Daisy maybe ready to roll thru this tournament after the way they man handled Beech last night. Matchup with Riverdale today should be a GREAT game!!!
  15. Without my words of wisdom just think where this message board would be like without me?????? Boring.............the problem is that I am just a tellin it like it is and the rich hate it and the ones who are at the parks talkin about the umps and the coaches know it is true......sometimes the truth hurts and people know what I am sayin is true and they just hate to admit to it. Noitall I agree with you 100% about all the princesses,bad/redneck parks, parents who constantly gripe about why their DD is riding the wooden pony or ain't playing in the position that they are best at & blah,blah,blah......But hey it is State Tournament time why don't you stop with all the propaganda nonsense garbage and tell everyone somthing with some substance! Use all of that "knowledge" you have & let all know who the "LOSERS" are going to be.... Cause that is truly what you do best!
  16. JTK I would love to & have begun to in years past but this slow connection I have on this computer makes it a very long task to put all that info in. Maybe Bellsouth or Charter will run one of them cables by my house someday so I can! Being as I can't is one of the reasons why I just make my picks & post them on the message board
  17. Beech has the Best pitcher in the state & is the favorite to win it all this year but will face some strong competition for the title from Soddy & Riverdale. They must play better than they did against Wilson Central or it will spell trouble since Soddy & Riverdale are much better teams than WC & stand the chance of getting "out coached"
  18. Well its about time for these 24 teams to make the hard earned trip to the “Boro”. There is going to be a couple of things different around the park this year at the “State Tournament”……..SODDY IS BACK & GOODPASTURE will not be playing at the “Boro”this year. I’m sure everyone is very excited & wondering who is going to win their first round game so I’m going to go ahead & make my prediction of who the first day “WINNERS” will be…. “A” Forrest over Friendship South Fulton over University School JC. E.Robertson over Unaka Trinity over Grace Baptist “AA” Westview over Meigs Unicoi over Camden Covington over Chatt. Central Greenbrier over Gibbs “AAA” Ravenwood over Jefferson Riverdale over Brighton Soddy over Daniel Boone Beech over Collierville There you go…..I’m sure there will be a few surprises…I can see Camden surprising anyone! Grace is very good & could also shock some folks in single A! SODDY is back…did I already say that? Riverdale is playing very well & had to beat some very good teams to get back to the “boro” & maybe better prepared for the competition they will face this week. Should be a great Tournament!! Good Luck to All!
  19. Camden Central VS Lewis Co.= Camden Winner Marshall Co. VS Creekwood = Marshall Co. Winner
  20. It's a done deal! Lucked by another one. Under the radar as usual. The lady Blues played like they had a purpose! Nice to see that fire again. Underdogs is the best place to be, If you know your good guess what surprise, surprise, surprise Gomer Pyle! "SCOOB" I hate to interrupt your "snack" but the "U" ain't no "Underdog" flying under anybody's radar......We kinda expect you to win!
  21. Yep I didnt want to be ugly but there are a lot of losers in this rec tournament! You are right about that! I guess sometimes the "Truth" ain't real pretty!
  22. Not many teams with a winnin record playin here this weekend....but it is close to the trailer so they will not have to travel very far. Do you think "Forrest" knows thay ain't goin to get any better playin in a "REC" tournament?!?!?
  23. Sounds like another typical misinformed T$$AA umpire making the wrong call..... If the runner rounds first base & makes no motion back towards first base she may continue as far as she desires at her own risk. It is up to the defensive team to stop her........ not the umpire! If the runner makes a motion back to first base then continues to second she should be called out if the ball is in the circle Tball - My understanding of the rule is the same as yours. However, IMO there's another common misinterpretation of the rule. My daughter was recently called out in a Jr. High game for rounding first on a walk and then returning to first. The umpire maintained that once she rounded first toward second that she couldn't return to first base. She simply rounded first (just as a hitter/runner would on a single), stopped and returned to first base. Am I wrong or did he blow the call? Yes he blew the call..... If your DD did infact did round first base then imediatly return to first base with no re-attempt to advance to second base. This call is kinda tricky & is seldom called correctly due to the fact that there are so many possibilities that can change the actual call that should be made in the exact specific situation... Example- Batter walks.... round first base begins towards second.... pitcher begins to throw the ball to second base.... base runner reverses back towards first & safely gets back to first base.. Base runner is "SAFE" in this situation since the pitcher made an action to throw her out during the attempt. Bottom line is once the defensive team begins an attempt to get the base runner out all the technicalities are over it's just a game of pickle from then. But the base runner had better not change her mind about going to second once she has decided to go back to first or she is "out"..... Unless the pitcher tries to throw her out at first....then it's just a game of pickle again.... Also, the pitcher does not even have to actually throw the ball....just raising her arm making a throwing motion is enough action by the pitcher to allow the runner to attempt an advance in either direction. I hope this clear's all that up for you! The only problem is.... what the umpire during your specific game thinks he/she knows!
