Sounds like another typical misinformed T$$AA umpire making the wrong call..... If the runner rounds first base & makes no motion back towards first base she may continue as far as she desires at her own risk. It is up to the defensive team to stop her........ not the umpire! If the runner makes a motion back to first base then continues to second she should be called out if the ball is in the circle

Well "SCOOB" The "U" will have its work cut out to get back to the "BORO" again this year! But like I said it is hard to bet against the reigning "Champs" If you do make it don't expect to be able to "WIN IT ALL" narrowly like you did each game last year. Ya'll kinda came in flying under the radar last year but this year all eyes will be on "U"!! The other teams there will pay more attention to what they must do to beat you this time I can assure you. Ya'll better be ready to put a bunch of runs on the score board cause I'm pretty sure there are going to be some teams there who are going to score more runs than what you had scored on the "U" last year! I guess we will know something after the Elizabethton game tonight if the team can pull it together!

They have split the 2 games they have played so far! Should be a good game when it really matters back into district play!

Is she playin in some position that you think is beneath her? Did the coach of her team put someone else in "her spot"?? Do you have trouble handling the truth?? I say that SD is one good team from the East. I have seen them play two times this year and enjoyed both times. Always well coached and if I am not mistaken young pitchers who are excellent. But I think this year the trophy will stay in the Mid-state and "Cat" will get it for them. okay MrNoitAll...you must have something against teams from the east because SD is a powerhouse all the way around. Seems to me that the only thing Beech has is "Cat" and people are hitting her and so will SD. Obviously SD has better pitching thats why they only have 7 runs scored against them and Beech has 24 when they have supposedly better pitching and played less games! "kitten lady" I hate to say this to you again Softy Daisy has a good team but Beech is the best. "IF" you get to play them you will find out what we're talking about!

Well Folks it seems like High School Softball season just got here but in 5 weeks a few hard working & sometimes lucky teams will be making that most awaited trip back to the “Boro” to challenge for the “State Title” in their respective classification & the rest will be starting their summer vacation or buying a ticket if they want to see a softball game at the “Boro” As many others have I’ve been able to watch a lot of games this spring & a few have stood out from the rest of the crowd as favorites to win it all this year! Now the boards have been pretty quiet of late & not much smack talk goin on between the schools so I’m going to go ahead & make my predictions a couple of weeks earlier than I did last year so we can go ahead & start this discussion. I know my picks last year didn’t go very well, I was 1 for 3 in the 09 picks but all 3 teams I picked did make it to the championship game 2 of the picks in a losing effort. That maybe the case this year as there is some very good teams in this state that will be vying for the “State title” at the “Boro” come May. AAA- Last year I picked Beech to win in this classification but they fell just short of closing the deal. I don’t believe they will this year! Soddy Daisy should be right there but just don’t believe that it is their year this time….probably next year! Beech has been proving this year so far how good they are & don't think they are done yet!! Kat will seal the deal in 2010 Beech= AAA Champs! AA- Last year I picked Goodpasture to win in this classification & they also fell just narrowly short to a good team in the “U”. But I don’t think Goodpasture will even get to play in the title game this year. Now I know that I made a lot of them fans from the “U” mad at me because I didn’t pick them to win it all last year but I’m not going to hold that against them this year! Unicoi will have a tough schedule to get thru at the “Boro” again this year to repeat but it is hard to bet against the reining champs coming back with most of their weapons! Unicoi= AA Champs! A- Last year I picked Trinity to win in this classification & they were the only team I picked that came thru. This year they are going to have a hard battle before them to repeat especially after losing a couple of great softball players to the collegiate field but they may still have what it takes to get the job done from what I watched during the "Warrior Classic". I’m sure that the teams in “Marshall Co. are going try their best to make sure they don’t “repeat”! And if some one is going to dethrone the “Champs” it will be Cornersville! They also have a very good team with great pitching, but once again it is very hard to bet against the reining champs! Trinity= A Champs! Now if your going to the Reservation to make some bets You should think seriously about putting some coin on these three teams! It sure sounds like someone is a HATER! I would imagine your DD was looked over during the recruiting process at TCA creating all this HATE you seem to always show towards this school??? :lol:

Well I got to watch quite a few good teams play this weekend at the “Indian Classic”. While I know quite a few folks seemed ill about how the tournament was laid out I kinda liked it. Not having all the teams in one or two big complexes was different but it was nice to watch the girls play on some top notch fields. Also getting games in on Saturday would probably not have happened with the rain we received Friday night & Saturday morning if the games had not been taking place on such nice fields. Weave & the “Big Man” did another Great job putting this tournament together! I hope they do it the same way next year. As with anything though there are a few issues that I had but just a few. Some of the same issues that I have with it others have already mentioned so I don’t intend to take away anything from them. The biggest issue is final results…. #1 issue- I agree how can a team that only played 2 games finish a tournament in 2nd place? Well we all know that they weren’t the 2nd best team in this tournament!! #2 issue- Since when does a tie not count as ½ a game win/loss in softball or baseball Well if I take these factors into the equation these are “The Ball Experts” top 5 teams for the Warrior Classic are--- #1 Lawrence Co.- Yes I know they didn’t play the toughest teams in the tournament but they did go unbeaten so I will give this to them. But I do think if they had played the likes of Beech, Hueytown, Trinity & Carl Sandburg Ill. That they would not be here. #2 Trinity Christian- Probably played the toughest schedule in the tournament 85.7% winning percentage. #3 Beech HS. They too did play a rain shortened schedule. If you figure the tie game with Hueytown Al. as ½ win/1/2 loss that gives them a 83.35% Winning percentage. This would be the 3rd best percentage in the tournament. #4 Carl Sandburg Il.- 80.0% winning percentage & also played a tough schedule with only loss coming to Trinity. Maybe the “2nd BEST TEAM” in this tournament! #5 Goodpasture- 80% winning percentage only loss in a close one to Lawrence Co. Best team who did not make the “TOP FIVE” -Hueytown Al.- 76.65 winning percentage. Maybe the “Best Team” in this tournament, just happened to also play one of the toughest schedules in the tournament with one game playing out to a tie with Beech & loosing in extra innings to Trinity. There were a few teams that could have slipped into my “TOP FIVE” but based from who they played against GP slipped into that spot

Some of the “Top” teams in this State will be in action this weekend at the 2010 “Lady Warrior Southern Classic” If you want to watch some good teams play the game of Softball When your DD is not in action here are just a few you might not want to miss. You will probably not be disappointed at these games, they feature some good teams with some great players that should be entertaining to watch. Beech vs Brock TX. Friday 3:00pm @ Riverdale HS Camden vs Riverdale Saturday 7:00pm @Riverdale HS Walker Valley vs Coffee Co. Saturday 5:00pm @ Coffee Co. HS Dickson Co. vs Forrest Thursday 8:00pm @Forrest HS Trinity vs Hueytown Al. Saturday 1:00pm @Forrest HS Goodpasture vs Martin Westview Saturday 3:00pm @ Columbia HS Cornersville vs Christian Co. Ky Friday 1:00pm @ Columbia HS. I’m sure there will be alot more great games during this tournament that what I’ve listed here but these games should not disappoint!

Great Post!!! It has not been very interesting reading post's on this topic since this ruling came out from the t$$aa!! Bottom line folks- The better pitchers are still going to be the better pitchers! The not so good pitchers are STILL going to be the not so good pitchers??? maybe a few more balls will get put in play but THAT IS IT!!! Let it go?

I've seen a few of those West Tn. players playing some "T"ravelball here in the Mid State they are gooood!

#1 mrnoitall is not the god of softball! He is just pointing out the obvious. You should not be so blasphemous. #2 If they are not they just wish the were & should be working hard towards getting there! #3 It shows at the schools on the "Losers List for Week 2" #4 Winning is a lot more fun than LOSING! If you dont think WINNING is more FUN then maybe sports ain't your Thing. Since in sports there are Winners & LOSERS High School Sports are not mandated Rec Leagues just for having fun. Maybe you are just one of them there socialist who think that everything should be equal for everyone??? Well it kinda starts out that way but some choose to better themselves thru hard work & lotsa practice which shows up in competitive sports by who is the winner or LOSER

Marshall Co. was pretty good last year. With not losing alot from last years team I expect them to make more of an impact this season, & they are probably the best team in a county that has some pretty good softball teams

I guess we will get to see how good TCA really is this year when they come over here to the Mid State in a couple of weeks & play.

I doubt it Soddy is probably the best team in AAA this year, maybe the entire state. Possibly the best pitcher in the state & apparently an offense that can put some runs on the score board against pretty good teams. I think it may be safe to say Soddy is back........ but players should think twice before declaring they are going to the state tournament to the paper this early in the season..... obviously that is a goal of alot of teams though!

Yep they call the house the other day and I missed the call but "Birdie" told them about our picks, you know I hate bein right so much.....but Beech is a lot better than that Goodpasture bunch you just wait and see, if you know what I mean! That's a pretty bold statement!!

Well Ol’e Buddy that’s a pretty good list to start from this year but I’m feelin that there will be some major shuffling of the deck after 2-3 weeks of play! It will be very interesting to see how some of these teams rebound from heartbreaking losses at the “Boro” last year.

i agree 100%. i think they will have some losses through district play and sure wont make it to state this year. Cornersville will easily win their District & Will return to the Boro again this year.

From what I saw, it doesn't look like the west will challenge for the crown this year. Who was there? Do you have any game results/scores?
