Two things about Trezevant. They will try to SLOW this game down. This is very uncommon for a Memphis team, but it hard worked this far. They will try to keep this game under 65 points and will attempt to let Bobby Jones their best player, I believe a 6'4/6'5 G/F control the game as well. I don't know much else though, but they did beat Manassas who I thought was the 2nd best double A team in Memphis.

It would very unwise to use a matchup in a basketball clinic as your reasoning for Dyer County winning.

Oh my...Oh my, I think Melrose HAS REALLY hit their stride. This is going to be the hands on favorite and I don't think theres a public school in this area(Southeast) that could beat them at this moment. It took awhile for them to mesh and for Coach JJ to calm himself down, but better late than never and now I really don't feel bad at all about Southwind losing to them!

So all Westwood kids only care about basketball?

Melrose goes 6'6,67,6'4,6'3,5'9 in their starting lineup. Off their bench they bring a 6'8, 6'1, 6'3, 6'4 guy. White Station goes 6'7,6'6,6'2,6'0,5'11 and bring 6'5, 6'3, 5'9 off the bench.

Melrose is the most talented team in the state. They are just now putting everything together though which is VERY bad for any team. They have size, and height and are a tough team. Adonis Thomas is their best player, but Nate Rucker is the most important and Chris Jones may be their most influetiantal. If all three of these guys are in sync then Melrose won't lose. They also play sound defense and have shooters on the court and off the bench. They are the most physically intimidating team Dyer County might see. White Station is led by Joe Jackson and Andre Hollins. When their other key supporters provide a spark off the bench then they are a very good team as well. Finding a way to stop Joe Jackson will be hard especially in Memphis where its not easy to get physical with him. Nino and Julian Burton are the guys the Spartans depend on to give them a spark.

Very disappointed in the showings from Craigmont and Cordova, but props to Dyer County and Jackson Northside. Good luck against White Station and Melrose...you'll need it.

What makes you think they'll beat Liberty?

I'm still nursing a sprained ankle from Spring football so I'll be at the house . As for J3, he was elbowed in the mouth and 4 of his teeth were pushed back. Keep in mind he just took off his braces so I don't know if he'll play, but he'll probably wear a mouth guard. I expect Kendrick Golden and Kedorian Sullivan to play mostly. They're the most physical big men Southwind has and they'll need some big minutes from them.

Dyer County could beat Craigmont, but Im just throwing my money on Craigmont they have a nice team and were one of the hottest teams in the city, but they're no Ridgeway or Melrose.

Tough to call, but I would put my money on a Craigmont/Dyer County championship game with Dyer County losing and advancing to probably face Melrose.

I'll be able to get the condition for J3 probably tonight or tommarrow. I heard Darious Paige and Darrian Gray came up huge again. When Southwind plays Melrose, Coach JJ has to keep this team in the grove and go inside! Last year, until Chris Jones exploded Southwind was in the control of the game. Melrose seems to be getting alot better this time of the year, coaching and playing wise so it will be interesting. Southwind is much better team at home though so its going to be hard to say. If its the same team that played White Station, Germantown, and Central then they can win. If they played like they did in the district championship it could get ugly!

Jackson and Prather are just as valuable to their team as Hood. Jackson has led White Station in scoring in every game except for maybe one. Prather makes Northside into sub-state contenders. Jackson has broken his own amount of records you know too.

Barham played at CBHS. He may have lived in Cordova though . Raleigh could be a very tough second round matchup for the Choctaws. Tank Brown and Dierre will bring their game, but this team is mostly a two man team, with other stepping up inconsistently. Bolton has the best 3pt shooter in the city in Johnny Dunavant, but thats about it. Dyer County vs. Cordova Jackson Northside vs Craigmont Will be two great games.
