  1. I saw a kid from Heritage signed with ETSU....does anyone know who he is and what position he played?
  2. Akula, Berean did have homeschoolers on the team until we joined TSSAA which then made them ineligible to play. There are homeschoolers on the swim team as Big G mentioned earlier but I don't follow or participate in it so im not sure how that works. Hope that clears things up...
  3. Don't know much about Oak Ridge, but judging by the Seymour/Oak Ridge scrimmage pre-season (5-1 Seymour won I believe), I say the score will be 4-1 Alcoa. I think that Oak Ridge has had time to get organized and get a few game under their belt, but Alcoa is a very strong team this year and will take home a win. Once again I post this no knowing a whole lot about Oak Ridge other than a couple scrimmage results.
  4. For the most part, Seymour posters have truly shown class on these boards...thank you pitbull. Ref, like pitbull said, you truly are hurting Seymour more than helping on this board. I got fired up on here earlier in the season because of some of your negative comments, but now I realize that was your intention all along...it worked. When I look back on it, I regret it because the boards mean absolutely nothing. The Seymour guys played with class last night...their center-mid (Austin was his name I believe) showed true sportsmanship. Their has been some tension between Seymour and us in the past because we have had some very close games in indoor and during high school. They ALWAYS play physically and all teams do and will foul regardless. Last night's refs seemed to make more mistakes than usual, but refs make many mistakes and for the most part, it isnt a valid excuse for losing the game. Good luck to Seymour, and as far as i'm concerned, I don't have any beef with Seymour. I mistook some of ref's comments and now realize those comments came from him, not the Seymour team, parents, or players. Once again good luck to Seymour, and thanks pitbull for showing class and representing Seymour well.
  5. Hey "On The Pitch", i don't believe anyone on here said that Mo West was going to win state...like you said, Ned said that he thinks many people think Mo West will win state...I am not one of them. I believe they definitely have a shot at it, but I did not say they were championship bound. I see that you are going to be at the Buddy's Bar-b-q by Bearden....so im guessing you are from or a fan of Bearden. Sorry if you took offense...maybe Bearden will win another title this year...its been a few years. I am not expecting them to win state....but I would be glad if they did because they were teammates of mine. In all honesty, I think Bearden has a good chance at winning state this year, but then again I haven't gotten to see farragut and Catholic play and a few other teams. By the way, if Mo West does beat those teams, i expect to have some free Bar-b-q. Me, you, and "ihavenofriendz" will have a feast. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  6. what happened with him and sherrod?
  7. Wow...I never thought Mo West would ever be in the running for state, but this is definitely one of their strongest years. I played club with a few of their guys and they REALLY know how to work together. Mike MacDonald has impacted those guys significantly and has really helped soccer in the Morristown area. I will be pulling for them all the way...i would love to see another program win state besides the ones that always seem to win (Bearden, Farrragut, CAK...etc.) I respect the coaches and players on the usual state-championship teams, but I would love to see Mo West take state this year. They will have plenty of oppertunity to prove themselves in the Bearden Tourney....best of luck to them!!!
  8. Silverfoot...looks like you almost nailed the score. Any details???
  9. Brodus has got to be one of the best juniors in the state.
  10. 5-1 Seymour....Gibbs has a couple of strong midfielders and a very talented keeper as ref already mentioned. I don't know what is in front of him though so it should be interesting.

I believe pitbull was saying that for a school like Seymour (in a district that is not at the level of play as Bearden's district) to be missing key players has a much bigger impact than for a team like Bearden to be missing a few key players (they have the depth to makeup for some missing players). Coming from a smaller school myself, I have felt the impact of missing key players and it can TOTALLY change the game.
  12. G, when is the Bearden tourney?
  13. Havent heard ref....I think they had one get cancelled. They had a bit of a slow start because a few of the basketball players are on the soccer team and they werent done with their season yet. I believe they have a few sheduled though.
  14. In response to Carterhigh16, I have heard that Gibbs has brought in quite a few players...I don't know if they are freshman and sophomores though. I don't know much about anyone else yet
  15. Alright defender2, the issue is settled. No more arguing...it DOESNT EVEN MATTER! This was blown WAY out of proportion and arguing is solving absolutely nothing. We all had our share in this and it is done. I look foward to seeing this game played out...hopefully it will be a high class game and not be taken over by unsettled emotion. What happens this season should speak for itself.
  16. I was just referring to pitbull's first comment. I said Alcoa should be mentioned in the top 5 teams in Knoxville and he said that Seymour should as well since Alcoa was. No offense....just responding to what was written
  17. Alright...this kinda got blown out of proportion. It doesn't need to be taken any farther....good luck to you Seymour, I have heard good things about you guys this year. Berean definitely did go into overtime with Alcoa sportsfanatic, but that is besides the point. This is a district with some very talented soccer players and I look foward to seeing how it plays at. Ref, between you and me there is not tension, just took a little offense to the first comment. Good luck this season...and I hope to be at the Bearden scrimmage on Friday.
  18. Ref, I agree with you 100% that Berean did not beat Alcoa, Seymour, or Carter last year...but doesn't it sound a bit harsh to say that all the effort and close matches those boys played was just a FLUKE??? I realize that they lost to the top three teams in the district, but all of the games were within one goal and they played them hard to the last minute. I wouldn't count them out...they are good team. By the way, I may be completely wrong, but I do believe that Carlos and Spencer (who are two very good players) were basically Seymour's offense LAST year. I did not say anything about this year...we will see how they do without them. Ref, i am not trying to slam Seymour at all...just a little disappointed you would call the season a fluke.
  19. Really ref???? I have heard a lot of good things about Berean, and a few games last year caught my eye. I believe they lost to Seymour by only one last year, of course Carlos (a.k.a. Seymour's only offense besides Spencer) scored two of them. They lost to Alcoa by only 1 the first time...and the second time they lost a battle to Alcoa in double ot. Now I believe that I am properly educated enough to say that that season wasn't a fluke, and I definitely understand that none of the teams in this district want to be beaten by a small private school with only a little over a hundred students. By the way, coaches have 90 minutes to get their team organized on the field...if they didn't take Berean seriously in the first ten minutes, don't you think they could make a change in the next 80 minutes ref??? I honestly am not sure how they will do this year, but I gotta say that they made a lot of noise last year. Good teams shouldnt try to blame a loss on not being prepared.
  20. All this talk about Seymour blows my mind...I don't see how they can lose Carlos, Spencer, their keeper and a few other starters and be mentioned as a top five contestant this year. The Oak Ridge score was impressive, but of course scrimmages don't say it all. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see teams other than bearden, farragut, CAK, and the Catholic in the top 5. Alcoa has a very well coached and experienced team and I think that will help them; Seymour on the other hand... only a couple seniors (correct me if im wrong)??? All I am saying is that if they want a top 5 spot, then they have prove it to Bearden (whether they are missing a couple players or not) and throughout their season; however, I believe it is way too early to make any predictions. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  21. Knox Catholic will be really strong...they have a few guys out for injuries. I believe CAK and Alcoa will do well also.
  22. I would have to agree with sportsnut on this one....they would have had to bring in some extremely good freshman for that to be even considered a possibility.
  23. How many seniors is Seymour going to field this year?
  24. Does Seymour have any key players this year?...I heard they lost their top three guys, a keeper and a couple of mid-fielders. They should run into some problems.
