  1. Alright MBA is looking really tougher and better than they did last year. Independence won last year in a thriller and was the first time they ever beaten a private school team. Last week Indy scored twice late in the fourth to show some what of promise. Is this week the last chance for them to prove they can play as a team against a top team in state. Do they even have a chance?
  2. Hey hey! Look at that 3 for 3, score as much as you can, check. Give up nothing, check. Hotdogs BIG CHECK thank u for that tip loved that dog got 2 Tanks! Real dissapointed as an Indy alum but man, loved seeing at least one team fired up the whole team was fired up the whole time. Just an awesome team and one of the best in state. And at least last years Indy team only gave up 27 points and got 9 on the board. What does that mean?
  3. There is always a possiblity for a win for Will Co. schools but hard to say there would be one with a program on the rise again like Oakland, and a flip-flop one like Indy. Oakland Scouting Report- -RUN & GUN, and put in a few play actions -Don't know what Defense you run but if on an obvious passing downs you might want your DE's to go on the outside. Thompson can roll outside pocket and looks upfield very good, if you make him scramble in the middle he'll be screwed -Play smart and safe (what killed Siegel was poor special teams and lots of flags) Independence Scouting Report- -Protect your QB, give Thompson that extra 2 seconds and it could be for 6 -Give J. Norman the ball more! Ran 6 times for 36 yards 6 yards per carry thats pretty good -LB's have to set up in the running game. They have improved from last year in pass coverage but have to get to that running back quicker. Thats my take anyways but what do I know? Can't wait for the game never been to the O-Zone before
  4. Amen jeez i saw the hit online, everyone there didn't have a good angle of it. Bunch of Franklin sore losers lol
  5. Wow never seen that weird. Well can people tell me about this 'greatest rivalry in tennessean'? Like about this year's match up and the history behind it? I'd love to know
  6. Asking too much for a win, but who knows no one predicted Michigan getting beat by Appalachian State years ago. Lets just hope it's a good game is all no one likes watching a blow out even if your team is delivering the blow. BTW Will Tucker wasn't the one who blocked it he said so himself, good ole Tennessean
  7. Deff bigger line, if i know one thing is for certain, defense wins you hardly ever get lucky. Pressure the qb more i remeber watching Hillsboro last year besides the front 4 or 3 sometimes they hardly got to our qb when he dropped back.
  8. Their defense? You mean the amount of flags early on Siegel got? Three drives in the first half were stopped because of false start problems. At one point I remember it was 1st and 30 before they got to run a play. I do admit though in 2nd half the D did better just saying Siegel screwed themselves over in the first half.
  9. Coachs relizing District 11 is a harder league to play in and simply work them harder in preseason
  10. Really unfortunate for the Rebels, yes it sucks their rb's were injured but its apart of the game people get injured. And from what i hear its a good thing i didnt pay $8 to see one quarter of play. Best of luck to both teams through out the season. Especially Franklin.
  11. Actually i'm taking this into consideration as a closer game than most think, even though Oakland will still win. They were monsters on the ground last week and should do it again this week. And ok everyone saying on the last thread vs. Siegel and on this one, Indy not getting enough yards on the ground, well ok big deal its obvious to anyone who saw the game first hand that Dyson ran the ball to open up the passing lanes. I'll take a good passing game into the fourth quarter when i'm down anyday. Also Siegel should of gotten more points on the board they got stupid penalties early, don't think Oakland will screw up like the Stars did. Oakland will score alot early and fast but Indy will try to make a comeback but come up short. Who knows maybe one yard short 28-24
  12. Glad to hear about Blackman's success! Great way to open the season! District 7 is looking as tough as ever with Riverdale putting up 400 RUSHING YARDS, Blackman putting up 40 points at someone else's house, Syrmna owning Beech, and Oakland running there way to victory! Man i wish i went to one of these Murfressboro schools! Who is up next for the Blaze? Is it at Blackman? From Will Co, GO BLAZE!
  13. Took the words right out of my mouth, they got lucky. It was a great comeback but i think thats all the excitment Indy fans will see this year. By the way, as a former student and Indy Nation fan, there were a lot of students but they was never loud. Just saying, plus i do agree with the Oakland guy above it will be a sad ride home for Indy they gave up a TON of rushing yards during the game. Oakland's senior RB, forgot his name, ran for 3 td's IN THE FIRST HALF against Ensworth. Good luck with that game plan Coach Bobby your going to need it. But here is the time i also brag on myself, told you guys on the preseason poll of D-11AAA that Indy had talented WR's. Will Tucker who blocked the punt, Brandon Swayze who got 70 yards recieving on 3 catches, and how can you forget Christian Leake's game winning grab. And everyone is forgetting that td pass was the first since 08!!! Speaking of whats your honest opinion about Adam Thompson? 11-19, 180 yards, 1 TD. Not bad for the Junior's first start. And did a good job avoiding pressure, which the o-line deff needs to work on PROTECT
  14. Wow since when has thing been about totally bashing the other person's opinion of what will happen. The players love Dyson and he is a good role model, im not saying that'll translate but at least give that a chance! It's quite obvivous that Dyson isnt ready?? wtf man he hasnt even coached a game yet! Im done with this crap cause its guys like you who just bug the crap out of me. Hope your attitude changes and learn that its about opinion and convincing other people that your always right. Cause that'll get you far not.
  15. Ha obviously only read part of what i said. I said that this year could set the tone and i did hear about the DC scrimmage kinda hard to switch from a triple option offense back to a I-Form. Eubanks screwed them over. Plus i heard it was the second team who got the whooping. I did say it would take a while during the season to get in the swing of things. I ment the offensive style not the actual talent dum dum. IM NOT THAT STUPID lol. No way are these batch of wide outs and backs even close to the ones in 07. I just ment instead of seeing an all pass offense like in 08 or an all run in 09. You'll see a balance of the plays beening called. I dont even think Indy will make the playoffs. But good coaching goes a long way.
  16. Vuvuzelas, well they will be next year lol. I actually think its cool but I bet parents will get mad. I heard some major stadiums banned them. Wonder if any high schools will ban them as well. And cheerleaders? They deff serve a purpose, stay there and look pretty for students to look at during a break. Oh and they make their parents 'proud' lol
  17. I liked seeing Blackman surprising people last year. Wish them the best of luck, do they travel to a Williamson County team this year?? If not which game should i go catch them play at their turf?
  18. Hope for Indy's sake thats true. Coaching has been a huge problem there ever since Eubanks was head coach. Even though in his first year they went to state but no one could of screwed up that team with that kinda talent they had. They could of been a lot better than 11-5, but it deff went downhill from that year. With NFL exprience at the helm and a former DC back, Coach Bobby, who all the players love for his intensity. And yet again the offense will be different but will look a lot like the 07 team's offensive style, a lot of depth at the WR and RB posistions. Starting out with 50%of pass and 50%of run. But the question will be a run first and open up the passing lanes or vice versa. Plus with 4 offensive linemen returning it should work out. This year's success could set the tone for the program's next couple of years. Yes im an Indy alum but i still think that Indy has a lot of talent but in the beginning of the year Dyson and the players should get in the swing of things and should get hot late in the season. BTW tough schedule all opponents in top 50 of 300 schools in TN. 4 out of them being in the top ten. For the first two playoff spots Franklin and Brentwood of course. And i actually think Centennial could have a sleeper year. Those young guys remember all the beat downs they took last year and if their coach could light a fire underneath them they could do great things. But its a big IF 1.Brentwood 2.Franklin 3.Independence 4.Ravenwood 5.Centennial 6.Hillsboro
  19. Two words to people downing Coach E. Shut Up. Plain and Simple. You wouldnt say any of that to his face so why say it at all, you can say he can not coach now with the 6A ranks but not all that other crud. Grow up. It would be amazing to the Coach Smith come back to coach the Eagles again. He was the kind of guy who made the Scott Pettigrews', Issac Baughs', Jeff Veres', and Ryan Consigllios (Not sure if i spelled it right) But he helped those guys grow up physically and mentally in football, and he for sure bring out potential in these young players here at Indy. Now lets be realistic here people thought the next basketball coach would be a fomer or current FHS asst. coach. Coach J. Moore last job was at LaVergne. Now think about that for a sec. Im considering both Scott Smith and the Coach from Lincoln County it wouldnt surprise me.
  20. Ok ive heard comparisons to 07's team, the reason why 07's team got off to a bad start was that Cordell got in trouble and a Nick Smith stepped in big shoes and didnt step up to expectations, D1 talent on both sides of the field, and plus the first two loses were against MBA and BA of that year which was the D-2 championship im pretty sure of. Indy hasnt had new or noticable people starting in new positions since the last game vs. Franklin. Only thing has changed is possbily the fact that Eubanks has switched up the offensive playcalling with a little more shotgun or pistol passing. But! In playoffs you get a new record Indy and Franklin are 1-0, and some of you might not understand this but just let it soak in; Indy players have no pressure to win they arent favored to win its not their home field they are playing at, all the pressure is against Franklin players. Questions going through their heads what if we lose? Last game vs Indy we better not lose, what if i mess up? Oh i cant wait till next week at Brentwood... When it comes to high school football its about 60% Talent and 40% Mental. Its Franklin's game to lose. If you dont agree with me just ask Arlington Tiger players and fans, same situation Indy had nothing to lose and not their home field.
  21. Hey guess what guys Heckman passed a good amount against Arlington. Just thought id say that, and if this game cant prepare Indy for Franklin then nothing will!
  22. No disrespect to your team that year, 2007, but it was kinda hard not to lose with all of the senior talent and size that year. We were loaded, that being said i think it was because of Eubanks that we didnt win the Gold Ball or lose only two games instead of five that year. He is an ok high school coach but he'll only be a great high school coach if he trusts in his quarterback in throwing it. Heckman is more of a quarterback who can read coverages only at the most 20-25 yards deep. I say just let him throw those intermediate throws untill the defense proves they can stop them then run that wing-t down there throat. I really wish it was Millington who we were playing again i want to relive some memories by going to that field what a game that was .... Hopefully we'll make some new ones this friday
  23. Indy cant play in the rain, if they play the way they played against Brentwood in the first half then they could defeat anyone the could play in the playoffs but i have to agree somewhat Eubanks is at fault for some cruddy play calling past couple weeks. As in running on 3rd and long not fooling anyone there. Pass it for more than 50% of the time on 3rd down for once you have a senior quarterback with a talented reciever in Cory Sartain and plus Ty and Brett can catch out of the backfield. Play calling and preperation will make or break a playoff run by the Eagles.
